Many centuries ago, three carefully-selected young Earthlings were transported from their native lands to a faraway world and granted astounding powers and eternal youth. As a child of the 70's this brings back great memories.😊
As a child in the '70s and even today, I have been a dedicated fan to FILMATION animated shows and live action series. The music I also found very intriguing!!! Miss those times....
Nate Mapp I never seen a black female heroine before
Nate Mapp she's cute
Moe has the jungle fever!
@@spunkyspaz Ahhhh. B4 watching this they showed an ad by Spike Lee. They know what they're doing huh?
They need to bring Filmation back and have a theme park where you can meet the characters.
I remember this cartoon from years ago try everywhere to find it, and lo and behold I found it, I always remember astria, and her ability to shapeshift, wonderful memories
Always loved the incidental and background soundtrack ...
Yes from 7mins & 50 secs can hear some great synths 🎶
Loved watching this as a boy in the 1970's, childhood memories.
Space Sentinels another cartoon I grew up on...Good times😊👍
I've been trying to remember the name of this series for 45 years.Ytube is sometimes ......incredible.It taught me the word"affirmative"!😄
These retro cartoons are entertaining
I was born in 78 so I never knew the show, but I love it.
Welcome aboard...I haven't seen this cartoon in like 40 years. Class. Cj!
I loved these cartoons, its too bad they hadn't made more of them
Mary Ellen Peterson Yep, TV has consistently gone nowhere but tragically, dramatically, repulsively downhill since the late 70s & early 80s.
I used to watch this as a kid, unbeknown that it was so filled with gnostic mythos.
Haven't watched this since I was 7 years old, glad to see this again
40 years ago? Wow!
Now I remember this show...wow. I had forgotten this all together. I remember it from the sounds and names.
amazing... so remember watching this years ago. The music is very memorable indeed...
I remember this episode from the 70s . Morpheus had all the sentinels powers .
Bring back The Space Sentinels! Bring back SUPERSTRETCH AND MICROWOMAN!
Turn it into a live action movie for the cinema.
Superstretch and Microwoman was cancelled mainly because of a successful lawsuit by DC Comics claiming Superstretch was too much like Plastic Man. Manta and Moray also fell victim to said lawsuit on the grounds that DC claimed Manta was too similar to Aquaman.
Jeremy Riley. Aww, that sucks!
The infancy of Saturday morning cartoons. Those were the days.
Infancy? There were original Saturday morning
cartoons in the late 50s.
Legendary era
OMG. It has ben ages since I have seen this show. Thanks for posting. :D
thank-you for bring this back I missed this cartoon series of the memories are coming my child hood self is calling
Banging
I remember this series originally being entitled The Young Sentinels, but I never knew why the title was changed. This show was part of a cartoon block with Tarzan, one about a girl who could communicate with spiders and who had arachnid based technology, and one about a black husband & wife superhero team (the husband was Elongated Man & he had Plastic Man type abilities, but he was completely different than the Elongated Man in comics, whereas the wife could shrink herself akin to DC Comics' Shrinking Violet). I think the animated Star Trek and New Adventures of Flash Gordon were also on Saturday mornings during this period. They all had very similar art and animation styles.
It’s so great to see there are others out here that slightly remember that we to once had long lost childhoods... sorry to say tho this one must have gotten by me I don’t recall this show at all but wow a Black Woman in a 70’s cartoon just wow....
An asian, a black woman and a white meathead guy. the 70s everybody. Im still confused when people called diverse characters 'groundbreaking' considering we've been doing it since Star Trek.
That's unfortunate that you're still confused. Is it safe to say you're not black?
I've never seen this.
The animation on Sentinel 1 is great
My childhood cartoon! Love the science fiction vibes and awesome prog rock and psychedelic soundtrack!)
when i was a kid i watch this also, i remember it 1988
They re-aired the show then? Because it's from 1977.
I am greatly pleased to finally see this again.. 7 yr old me got disconnected from the plot in the middle of an intense "2b continued". -Mike, NYC 1978
Wow, I have no recollection of this series, even though my eyes were glued to the tv the entire day during this time. not sure how this slipped by me!
Do you believe it existed?
Well done. Well done, i say!!
Thanks for the uploads RH2
Wow, a Tacchini belt. Astria...ahead of her time!
This was on after school in the olden days
Debuting on September 10, 1977, "THE SPACE SENTINELS" (broadcast as "THE YOUNG SENTINELS") was an NBC Saturday Morning cartoon series from Filmation Associates. In the opening episode, "Morpheus, The Sinister Sentinel", the character was voiced by Marvin Miller (1913-1985 -uncredited), who had a history with Filmation, voicing "Aquaman" on CBS's "THE SUPERMAN-AQUAMAN HOUR OF ADVENTURE" (1967-1968), and "FANTASTIC VOYAGE" (1968-1969)
Ahh! X3 Omg I loved this show when I was a little girl!

WOW A BLACK FEMALE SUPER HERO WHERE ARE THEY NOW
And back in the '70s when they had those perfect round afros.
TVOne
Yet still back then characters of color were turned into animals.
Good series this.
Even in Britain they were heroes for kids.
They should make a movie out of this TV cartoon this would make a fantastic movie it would get a lot of money 💰💰💰💰💰🤑🤑🤑
Love it
They should make a movie out of this
i remember this cartoon
I feel like I just took lsd and fell through a hole in spacetime.
Good night maintenance operator! #mo
It's seems that 90's Power Rangers found some inspiration off this.
Classic
During the time of these children cartoons with great sound effects is actually frequency wave outlets for consciousness tuning. Reaching numerological mind controlling conditionings
Everything's in Metric!
2:39 A robot having a crush on a female human.
...
As the first episode, there's definitely some differences in the voice acting, particularly Sentinel-1 (whose voice isn't as neutral and robotic as it later becomes) and Mo (who has more modulation in his voice, and a bit of an accent - Jersey, I think).
I loved this one back in the day but wasn't it called the young sentinels?
+Nelson Hall - Yes it was, when it first aired. Then after a couple of months the opening was inexplicably changed to The Space Sentinels. Something tells me the original title infringed on someone's copyright.
That would explain their belt buckles
Came out the same year as Star Wars. Maybe the success of that convinced them to piggyback by adding 'Space' to the title 🤷
School days
CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE EPISODE 4 OF THE SPACE SENTINELS PUBLIC
Provide special training to teach anyone to move at light speed. 50 dollars per hour.
So this was a precursor to He-Man...right?

@@RetroBites I barely remember this show, but what turned on the light switch in my brain was the gynormous holographic computer head & that square robot in the show, ŵow I was just in 5th grade grammar middle school, 11yrs old & loved watching Saturday morning kids television programs on ABC 7, CBS 5 & NBC 4, I was just a little kid, cry good memories! 📺
Hmm.. the music and sound effects are so loud compared to the voices, it's hard to follow the dialog. I'm surprised Filmation released it like this.
I'm not having any problems. Sounds fine on my device.
Now...2 find what...?
music is far out
If ur gonna call ur cartoon droid MO...
I thought this show was fire when I was a kid but something was off. Now in context, I see it. Hercules, mercury, andrea...white dude, Asian dude, black woman? The suppression of black masculine male imagery was in effect even back then.
Oh good grief. It's Astria not Andrea.
This is hands down the dumbest cartoon.I have ever seen
Your opinion seems to be the only negative one I've read. The rest if us are enjoying seeing this again after so many decades.
when i was a kid i watch this also, i remember it 1988
