    It sure is an awesome pepper. I do have a hot sauce recipe for the KSLS, I call it the "Triple Lemon Extreme" first i use about 10-12 fully ripe KSLS pods, i add them to the blender, then add 1/4 cup of white wine vinegar. I then add about 20 lemon drop peppers. next i add about 3 table spoons of lemon pepper seasoning. i blend until i get the consistency that i want. which is about to a gravy consistency. then i add 1/8th cup of balsamic vinegar. blend it in. then i take the mash and put it on the stove and heat it up, until a good simmer. meanwhile constantly stirring, do not want this to stick and burn. i do this for about 10 minutes. once done i pour it into bottles and let it cool. this goes really well on fish, chicken, and i even have a friend i sell this too that likes it on popcorn.

    I had some of my own KSLS today on tacos for my nephew's birthday. Everyone else had some Numex Suave Orange.
    Just spent a few hours in the patch for one final feed and trim. The plants are bonkers huge, but most of my harvest is still green. I did get half a 5 gallon bucket so that's the first flush as it were. The hinkelhatz in particular are very tall, although I have some super hots that are also around 4 1/2 feet.
    Khang Starr is a legend. I particularly like his videos growing peppers in all sorts of random containers. He inspired me to make my own gallon containers with modge-podged beer labels. Great Video Geek!

    Nice looking peppers you got! I feel like I either get almost the "correct" pheno or "blobs" hehe. But they are all equally tasty (and hot as you seem to have noticed hehe) anyway! I also think the Scarlet Rose also is a cousin to the Lemon StarrBurst and the Peach StarrKist.

    Two questions,
    Do you have a video on which potting soil you use?! I tried to grow a pepper plant in a pot and had horrible results. Slow to grow and only two buds, too late to produce..
    Also, what is your favorite pepper youve grown to date?! Or which one would you recommend to grow?!

    • @PepperGeek
      @PepperGeek  8 месяцев назад

      Not a video, but this article shows some of our favorites: peppergeek.com/best-soil-for-pepper-plants
      As for our favorite peppers, it’s always changing! However, I love yellow chinense peppers, Crystalyn likes aji charapita and cobanero peppers for spicy options. For milder, hatch chiles are great, and you can’t beat the Jimmy Nardello for sweet red pepper flavor

    • @GiantSleepy
      @GiantSleepy 9 месяцев назад

      The usual careful rule is 3/3/3. 3 weeks, 3 inches, 3 sets (6 leaves) of true leaves. You can risk bumping it down to 2/2/2 but many find the transplant can be a bit harsh. IME super hots tend to take about a month to get to this point.

  • @thisissnake-_-6874
    @thisissnake-_-6874 9 месяцев назад +1

    I have a question, my pepper plants are exposing some roots, it might be because I didn't plant them deep enough. When I first planted them they were like about 8 inches tall. Now one is about almost 3 feet tall and the other is about almost 2 feet. Is it bad that they are exposing some roots? Almost like a tree exposes it's root. I ended up mounting dirt like a pyramid form to keep them firm and so the roots are not exposed, but what do you think?

    • @PepperGeek
      @PepperGeek  9 месяцев назад +1

      Some root exposure is totally normal. I wouldn’t bother covering it as the above ground root will naturally form a sort of woody coating to protect against the elements. These plant make great bonsai!
