Superb television series that will never be repeated ever again. The acting and the stories along with the great guest stars was priceless Period !!!!!
William Windom was a versatile actor. He played in everything from "All in the Family" as a buddy of Archie to a dark troubled character "The Detective" with Frank Sinatra
- I wish classic TV Networks like "ME TV" or "Antenna TV" or "Decades" or "Heroes and Icons" or any of the many others would start showing The F.B.I !!!
Quinn Martin and the Ford Motor Company had an excellent relationship. Every TV show he produced ( The FBI, Cannon, Barnaby Jones, The Streets of San Francisco, The Invaders, The Fugitive, etc.)had a Ford, Lincoln and Mercury product in it driven by the good guys and the bad guys.
Thank you for posting this video. I really appreciate the opening theme song with "The Ford Motor Company Presents The FBI" so much, along with the closing theme song driving either the Mustang or Cougar. Please post from 1969 and 1970 if you have them.
My dad worked for a Ford dealership for many years - so of course my family watched this show every week. Today my brother owns 2 Mustangs, both pre-1970.
No kidding. It's an embarrassment what the FBI has become. Hunter Biden's personal servants. They probably supply him cocaine from their evidence room.
I see Dominic Frontiere was no longer doing the music for season 3 (excluding the theme tune, he conducted the music for season 1). But in 1967 when this was filmed he had The Invaders ongoing, so that may be why.
This was a good family show. Exciting stories of America's preeminent law enforcement agency. At least back then. The Bureau catches a lot of flack today. I do not know what to believe. J. Edgar Hoover had some great gunfighters on the job back when Special Agents carried revolvers.
On Season 1, Hank Simms said on the opening titles, other than "The Ford Motor Company presents... THE FBI!", "Alcoa presents... THE FBI!" or "American Tobacco presents... THE FBI!"
@@williamdunphy352 I think it was still listed as sponsored by Ford, but Ford inserted Lincoln-Mercury commercials during the show. I clearly remember seeing the Lincoln-Mercury commercials with Marilyn Maye singing "Step To The Rear" tailored with special Lincoln-Mercury lyrics and seeing at the end of other Lincoln-Mercury commercials (during the show) the Cougar (animal) on top of the Lincoln-Mercury sign growling with the announcer saying..."At The Sign Of The Cat."

This classic TV show of J Edgar Hoover's finest was based on actual cases of the FBI
now it has to be dark and edgy
I remember watching this show very well back in the 70s. ABC had a hit with this one. May Efrem Zimbalist Jr. Rest in peace.
The best theme music of all TV, remember it clearly and still love it to this very day .
Arthur Hill! William Windom! Don Gordon! What a parade of guest stars.
My dad used to watch this show all the time. Being a former cop for the NYPD, he would research the case files afterwards. RIP :(
William Windom was in so many series in the 60s and 70s. Just a good reliable actor who never got the fame he deserved.
William Windom was a versatile actor. He played in everything from "All in the Family" as a buddy of Archie to a dark troubled character "The Detective" with Frank Sinatra

So nice to see the original sponsor opens that were so badly edited out of the syndicated film reruns.

thanks to Quinn Martin, much cooler than the real FBI.
Ok, who always looked forward to what kind of car Erskine had every year?
IKR? He moved up from Mustangs to LTDs to Thunderbirds and Lincoln/Mercurys
What would J. Edgar Hoover think of Strozk ? And his unprofessional disgraceful actions at the F.B.I
What about Hoover's OWN disgraceful actions? HUH???
The man was a REPRESSIONIST, and an ENEMY of civil liberties AND civil RIGHTS!!!
Incredible theme music. It's played a bit slower here, with that lush string passage filtering through to the trumpets and French horns.
William Windom was Commodore Decker also. Great actor.
beautiful music
