Shadow Project was an alt-rock/goth metal band formed in 1987 featuring former members of Los Angeles deathrock groups Christian Death and Super Heroines. After recording two LP records the group experienced a three-year hiatus, reconvening for a third and final album. Shadow Project, they folded after vocalist Rozz Williams committed suicide in April 1, 1998

Had the pleasure of seeing Shadow Project in 1992/93 at The Limelight N.Y.C great show also got to meet Rozz what a frail little man but can belt out a tune. Great show, great memory

That was a great show. I gave Rozz a large shadow project symbol pendant that I made out of steel and he squeezed my pinkie with his... The show at the Pyramid was even better btw.. The BANK show was good too, but the sound mix for the crowd was not done well, unfortunately. At all shows, I was front and center (which was especially good at the BANK where the stage sound was sooo much better)
@@jasonledyard404we probably know each other or have seen one another. I used to hang out at the Pyramid on Fridays the Bank on Saturdays.

Saw Shadow Project at Spanky’s Cafe in Riverside which was a pizza shop by day and goth/alt music venue on the weekends. Was 16 and pulled Rozz in for a kiss on a dare and stole the wine he was drinking during a show at the end. Good times

Love Shadow Project, but all the existing footage is weaker than their 3 shows in NYC... sad that no footage from those great shows has turned up yet.

This man never got the recognition he deserves outside the goth and deathrock scenes. Don't get me wrong: he's been incredibly influential in those scenes, but beyond them and beyond music in general he was actually an incredible poet whose work really deserves to be studied as literature. I'm not saying Rozz was like T.S. Eliot, but if you read his spoken word it's fairly clear to me that the world missed out on taking a serious look at truly dark but beautiful poetry. It's sad to me that there are so few interviews with him to read or watch or listen to and that his life goes largely unknown outside of those in the goth scene.
