I'm very intrigued as to how this party will affect the Canadian political landscape- hopefully people will be able to listen to other perspectives and actually consider the things you guys bring to their attention, otherwise we may just see people blindly disagreeing with everything just based on the word "communist"
On construction labour efficiency decline: There is a trend in construction bidding that separates labour and material into two different bids- I'm not sure why or what started it, but the bid price for labour is far higher in relation to material. Any construction worker will tell you, our companies are buying cheaper material that take significantly longer to install, and avoiding purchasing specialized equipment that reduces labour-time. I see it every day- there are faster (cheaper) ways to do what we are doing, but every company I have worked for is the same- let it take longer, to build a product that will not last as long, to keep material costs down. Meanwhile, even union jobs are only getting like 2% annual raises, but contract pricing is skyrocketing. Completely unsustainable. We also have a leadership crisis- very young foremen (25 year olds running 9 man crews) without much experience getting thrown at big jobs without guidance- project managers with a "sink or swim" mentality but without any coaching or training- leads to very costly errors and slowdowns.
Understanding the perspective of the working class is essential to being a successful revolutionary. Time and time again this party proves its leadership is capable and motivated.
As a devoted socialist for many decades with some close comrades who were card carrying Canadian Communists back in the 90s, I would loved to join your organization except for one problem. Why "Communist" revolution? One, its a redundant phrase since communist is implicitly revolutionary socialism; and two, anytime I use communist to describe my political position I inevitably spend all my energy explaining what communism is to even reasonably socialist inclined comrades. Loved your segment. Hardly radical or revolutionary. Count me in as new subscriber.
Like a lot of the things I'm hearing so far (well, I mean, I don't _like_ them, but, well, you know) but I will jump in here as a lone, shrill, voice from BC saying that the vollapse of the BC Liberal party is not about the collapse of the centre because they were, for about 30 years, BC's conservative party. The BC NDP have long been a Liberal NDP coalition. Two caveats; one, the BC Liberal party did change its name to distance themselves from JT. Two, I did see an handful of federal Liberals support ex BC Liberal candidates who ran as independants. Caveat to the caveat; BC Libs changed name to distance from JT, yes. Then they dropped out of the election in an explicit concession to the conservatives who their arch-conservative leader, Kevin Falcon, vovally supported.
Hey there - I do agree that the collapse of the BC Liberals isn't so much about the "collapse of the centre" as it is about the unpopularity of the establishment. I also would agree that the NDP in BC tends to have in it people that are essentially federal Liberals. However, that doesn't mean they are the same as the Liberal party - the NDP still is a bit of a different beast, with direct ties to the unions etc... That helps explain why the entirely bourgeois essentially were so insistent that Falcon close up shop and support the Conservatives. No matter how hard the NDP try, the capitalists will never consider them a party of their own.
Can any true believers in communism name me any communist countries throughout history (past or present) which had/has a standard of living comparable to any capitalist counterparts that are around during the same point in history? Because.. from my distorted lense of reality ... which I'll admit must be a bit distorted since all my information is coming from places within a capitalist country that UI've lived in my entire life... but I digress... from my limited perspective it seems like for every communist country that has ever existed, there's always a capitlist country counterpart which seems to have an overall better standard of living...examples: South Korea > North Korea West Germany > East Germany Dominican Republic > Cuba Japan > Communist China... until China reformed its system to the point of embracing capitlism and now Capiatlist China > Japan... and.. US > USSR Again this is just my opinion... I can't be certtain about it because I've never actually lived in any of these countries ever.. and I'm just going with what limited scope I have from researching this shit from home... If you can give me some examples where the communist country seems to hev the overall better standard of living, i encourage you to let me know about it.. Also 1 otehr thing...did you know that youtube is a video streaming service made possible through the technilogical innovations that are a byproduct of capitalism ... I mean uploading a video on this website youtube and being able to discus it's ideas in the comments section with people anywhere in the world (aside from some communist countries who might block this iropically enough) is something that is so commonplace in modernity, that we fail top appreciate the level of technological complexity involved in keeping a website like youtube up and running.. and that it's all being made possible by the hidden hand... supply and demand.. capitalism- baby...if you truly don't think capitalism is a good thing... should you really be using technpoologies born out of fruits of capitalism to express this opinion? I mean I don't care.. I love the free flow of ideas... just you don't realize how many things you take for granted living in a capitalist government until you come back from a vacation you just had in Cuba is all... 🙂
I see you on the comment section of practically every video of this channel. You don't seem to watch the video's because every time you say some general garbage that is completely unrelated to the topic. What are you doing? I don't understand.
Outstanding analysis.
The modern NDP is a mockery to its working class origins.
fantastic. thanks for posting
amazing

Yeah why would we take lessons from the Hundred Million deaths at the hands of Communism and its failed Religion. Surely it'll work this time.

A great example of how the profit motive decays and makes the productive forces stagnate.

ya'll decide who is "the working class" based off political affiliation over affluency.
@rhumandlove393 not at all. I'm referring to anybody who must sell their labour to earn their living.
