I am thinking that when Jesus tells His disciples to shake off the dust from their soles to those who won’t believe, that is a reminder that from dust they came and to dust they will return.
Thank you again, Chad. There is so much work that goes into preparation and videography. I am informed each by your work as I prepare to preach. I hope you have a great vacation and a great speaking engagement.
I agree with your observations and analysis that the "church" ("called out ones") is a continuation of the name God gave Jacob after He visited Him in the theophany of a "wrestler," "Israel."
I love the play on words where the people of Nazareth are offended by Jesus: who has "mighty works done by his hands" (referring to miracles). And yet, any carpenter works by his hands. I think it's evident that Joseph, the adopted father of Jesus, was relatively prosperous. He could afford a donkey to take Mary to Bethlehem. He has an occupation that allows him to flee to Egypt when the life of the infant is threatened. Ironically, Jesus' ministry begins on a donkey going to Bethlehem and ends on a donkey going into Jerusalem.
As always, many thanks. Enjoy your break. God bless you and your family in both your relaxation and your speaking. My gosh-Israel is even in Jersey!!!
So good ! This is so important to understand and something I personally struggled with coming out of dispensationalism .
Wow great wisdom...
