I had the same issue with the ignition switch. I actually bought a 67 pigtail and rewired the switch plug using the 67 plug so it would work with the 67 switch. Wiring is always fun.

The AAW instructions that you used to cut the hole in the firewall for the bulkhead portion of the new fuse panel does state that cutting is necessary because they are using a 1968 or newer style set up.
While it may not specifically say the other components are 1968 or newer, I would presume they would match the year of the harness(1968+).
This may be the simple answer to why the difference in ignition switches.

I actually called AAW and the guy told me that they use a 2nd gen Camaro ignition switch

67 was electric for the headlight doors. 68 went to vacuum.

@@MarkSawatsky it’s one of the many fun one year only quirks of a car model generation that itself only lasted three years. :-) Enjoying your series quite a bit. I myself have a 67, and am also into MGs, though of a more miniature variety.

Can I email you. I am restoring a 67 camero with electric hide away lights but I'm having issues with the relays and motors. If I could pick your brain, is really appreciate. My name is Adrian by the way
