    Vance & Hines is an American manufacturer of aftermarket motorcycle performance parts with factories in Santa Fe Springs, California and Brownsburg, Indiana. While we are best known for our distinctive exhaust systems for big twin cruisers, you may be surprised to know that we also make a wide range of parts and accessories for nearly every form of vehicle in the powersports world.
    The company’s founders, Terry Vance and Byron Hines shared a passion for the quarter mile from the early days of motorcycle drag racing. But they also shared a vision of creating a company that would be a pillar of the motorcycle aftermarket, and they used their unrivaled achievements in racing to build a brand that would unmistakably stand for quality and performance.
    This same formula drives Vance & Hines today, from our continuing involvement in many disciplines of racing to our commitment to making the kinds of products that get people excited about motorcycling.
    From metal forming to smartphone-driven electronics, we believe pushing the envelope for design and technology is the way forward. At the end of the day, our goal is not just to make an American-made product, but to create products that inspire motorcyclists around the world.

    Is there a list of dealers/DYNO shops that have your Pro Tuner program? What's a good guess on how long a professional map service should take? One dealer told me 6 hours. That seems crazy.

    Hi, can you autotune an autotuned map on the fp3?

    I have the iron 883 with short shots and intake. I’m using the premade map from the app, but decided to do auto tune on top of that. After a session, I previewed the values and found all 0s. Does this mean that no changes are going to be made to those cells?

      I'm confused in the same situation. I can't get any cells to turn green.

    Can I use the fuelpak if I have a custom made exhaust (not vance and hines)

      Yes. I also recommend downloading the app. You can play around with it in demo mode to get an understanding of its capabilities.

    what do you recommend running autotune or loading a preset map from the app?

    • @vanceandhines
      @vanceandhines  5 лет назад +1

      Typically I recommend running the preset map for at least a tank of fuel, but there's nothing wrong with throwing it straight into AutoTune mode to learn the VE's for you specific bike and setup. If you do this, please utilize the Preview button as a way to know when your VE tables are tuned to spec, then select Apply Learned Values, select Finish, then get out there and ride!

      My butt. In one afternoon I just beat autotune. Canned maps are just starterbkits. Get your math books out and drive the af down to 13.4. Advance the spark 5 degreesvjo matter what. Idle up.

  • @leostm8666

    Hello, why dont you use the 5 gear for your session ? You need to open 0 to 100% in 4 and go peogressivly in all blocs ?

    • @vanceandhines
      @vanceandhines  4 года назад +3

      5th gear on this bike is an overdrive gear, and it would work the bike pretty hard, raising wheel speed unnecessarily for the application. 4th is a bit gentler on the bike, it's easier to manage engine temp, and you still have plenty of time to populate the cells as needed.

    Curious question here. If I were to load all the same configurations to my fp3 on my 2018 48, would I end up with the same results as this? Also, if I add the fp3 PRO to it, would it HAVE to be dynp tuned or would an auto tune do the same thing?

    • @vanceandhines
      @vanceandhines  4 года назад

      Potentially yes, pending you live around the same elevation as where the bike was tuned. Wideband AutoTune with the Fuelpak Pro is a more advanced version of what you're familiar with already, so it can be done on the street or in a dyno.

    I was wondering if it was possible to tune on a dyno. Many youtubers say you can't. I think it as mention BT as bluetooth. It may lag, but your FP3 will have the correct values. Really great video. Many say you have o also tune it one a highway witch can annoying and risky because you have to get it to near 100% throttle. this was very useful. How can you link up the dyno computer to FP3 I know blue tooth. does do all dyno's enable bluetooth.

    • @vanceandhines
      @vanceandhines  4 года назад +1

      The Fuelpak Pro and FP3 don't link up to the dyno, and the dyno is simply used as a tool to control engine and wheel speed to help fill the tables more efficiently. I've done this on the road, and it takes about twice as long, and you don't get all of the same cells since it's not safe/feasible on the road.

      You can always go with n the FP3 and manual input the AFR values . Instead of auto tuning... Just fill out the green blocks...to what you like ... In the proper sweep scale ... 13.8 AFR ... Good to go...

    Do you have any tuning associates that know how to mimic this procedure in the Ventura County, CA area?

    • @vanceandhines
      @vanceandhines  4 года назад

      While tuning with a Fuelpak Pro works with either CARB or non-CARB FP3's, you'll have to call around as we don't have any registered dealers in CA on the locator tool.

    Hello, could you please help me? I would like to know what is the best map for a Harley Forty-eight 1200cc, 2014 model with / Vance & Hines Shortshots Stepped exhaust, Harness Big Suker stage II high flow filter, there is a good mapping for these accessories , in terms of performance, good strong sound and power that is already pre set to program.
    Thank you, and very good videos congratulations.

    • @vanceandhines
      @vanceandhines  5 лет назад +2

      All of our FP3 maps on the server were created in our dyno rooms in Santa Fe Springs, CA with real components on real bikes, and are optimally tuned for your bike. I would recommend running the preset Shortshots Staggered map with high flow air filter, and your appropriate baffle type.

      Canned maps are starter kits. Get out your basic research and math skills. Drive the af down to 13.5, advance 5 degrees, idle up, run 93 octane. Guaranteed. And make your own air cleaner.
