Excellent video ! ! I had a '09 Road King, 103 from the factory, since it was a cop bike, but never did any upgrades. But now I've got a M8 '17 Street Glide 107, still stock, but I'm looking to upgrade. I've seen a couple of videos on turners, and you really explained it quite well.
I’m excited. I had a 92 FXLR for 16 years, Andrew’s cam, screamin eagle carb and breather with a thunderheader. Getting off of it and getting on this ultra is like getting out of a built iroc Camaro and getting into an 80’s Cadillac. It’s comfy but no zooom yet.
The most important thing is to start the bike so we know this thing worked. I’m installing a thunderheader and a stage 1 screamin eagle breather on my 07 ultra. It was completely stock. I am also installing this tuner. I hope it works as easy as this video showed.
Just did this on my Road King. It’s amazing. Note: I did the auto tune over about 4-5 rides and the canned map V&H had for my setup ran better. They told me this was not uncommon. The nice part is you keep both (and stock) and can pick whichever one you like better. Awesome product!
Thanks brother that’s good to know. I have rode it twice since I put it on and think it runs good. I did notice yesterday at high RPMs it seemed a little off so I may do the auto tune
BoDean 52 I’ve messed with the auto tune and going to adjust that throttle control too, but haven’t messed with it yet, but it’s cool to see all the info it displays
I love the FP3 and I think it's a great product. I had one on my 18 Road King and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I probably will go back to it on my SG after the warranty expires.
@@BoDean52 As always veideos are great. I am now waiting for the review video. I am thinking of changing from the Screamin eagle to the fp3, but not sure whats involved with taking out the Scremin eagle tuner. I will have to call Vance & Hines tech support. Thanks again.
Great install brother, and you saved yourself a lot of money by doing it yourself, you'll definitely notice the difference, ride safe and ride easy Brother 👍🏼💯
I also have an 18 Limited with the same setup including the SE breather. My only complaint is the breather sounds louder than stock, it's most noticeable when riding without a helmet but you'll get use to it. I do like the gains from the stage one. But I'm currently looking on upgrading to the Vance & Hines Power Duals and adding a Zippers 468 cam to wake it up some more.
Julio P very interesting....I thought about cams down the road but may just change out the header pipe and get Cat out. We have nice bikes! Thanks for checking on the vide and ride safe

Nicely done video... I hope you're happy with the results. You should notice improved responsiveness, cooler engine temps and better fuel economy. 👍 ...Unless your in that throttle more than ever 😃😃
It has been awhile since I did this and on an older bike of mine. I do not believe I recall seeing anything to add regarding cams, was just air and exhaust
Do you think this will help a stock bike ? I just bought a 2016 flhtp . I plan to change the pipes and intake , but at the moment I haven't changed anything.
I understand your marring your fp3 to bike, how important is the phone that was used to map. lets say you lose or break phone will any phone with fp3 app. work ???
@@BoDean52 so you think I could use even your phone , as long as it had the fp3 app. ,which would mean anybody could change your mapping as long as they have the app.
Thanks for the video. I just ordered the same components for my street glide yesterday. Did this stage one wake up your bike noticably? How long did it take to get the screaming eagle air cleaner from HD?
Great info! Question-I have a 21 ultra limited with Khrome Werks slip ons, adding a screamin eagle intake along with the the fp4-did you run the bike with your new intake & exhaust before adding the tune?
Great vid. Is stage 1 complete, or do you need to do full exhaust? I know you mentioned that in previous video. Did you upgrade wires and ignition module oozing? Looking foward to a few ride videos, and seeing how the auto tune works. Have great one.
@@BoDean52 I am, finally sunny on this side of state. You got me itching to consider a jug kit on my 2000 doftail. Its the ol 88 twin. You got plans for DUKE?
Thank you for (particular for my situation) your timely and helpful video. Looking forward to your F/U reviews of the recent upgrades combined with an FP3 re-map. Purchased and installed the FP3 on a new 2018 Street Glide in late 2018..New floor room model but just between model years, got a good deal on it. I connected it immediately using Shawn Smokes advice on how to mount it in the electronic cluster on the left. But I've been reluctant to actually "activate" it by passing a map to the ECM until my 2 year warranty expired which is happening this month. Just have been using it for the past 2 years to monitor HP, Torque, Temp, etc.on my iPhone mounted to a Ram Mount. So this month I'm going to open a celebratory bottle of champagne ( warranty is up) and install the Screaming Eagle high flow air filter and the same V&H 400 Eliminators you featured in your video and the exact same flash you did based on playing around with the app and some additional research. One clarification though that you or other commenters can help me out with would be appreciated. It's my understanding that simply connecting the FP3 to the ECM connection isn't going to void your warranty or marry that FP3 to your bike. It is only the process of flashing a V&H canned map, based on your particular upgrades, that marries the FP3 to you bike and could potentially alert an HD service tech that a third party has altered emission variables and living in the Communist state of California could void your warranty. Does anyone know if these assumptions are valid.
Thanks brother I really appreciate that and it has been a positive experience so far with the FP3. My understanding is that you are correct that until you flash it over you are good but I’ll look for comments from others as well. I will feature your comments just so people can see it and hope they give you some additional information. Ride safe
Yeah, flashing the computer voids the warranty and it doesn't matter where you live in the US. It's the same as other vehicles. I know of people that flashed their Subarus and it voided the warranty. The reason from what I understand is two fold: One, you change the tune on the bike from what the manufacturer installed, they can't guarantee that it will function as they intended and therefore they will not warrant it. Two, the EPA. Look what happened to VW and HD had a penalty as well. By removing warranty it removes any responsibility they have for the function of that engine or anything else on it I guess. I heard one manufacturer actually locked owners out from flashing the ECM. It's the shape of things to come. Subscription mentality. BMW is going to have pay for options in their cars that can be turned on and off if you pay subscription or don't. So, want heated seats, pay a subscription fee. They already had a fee to use Apple Car Play.
I’ve thought about a stage 1 numerous times. Now that I have the 18 RGU with stock exhaust, I’m not sure I want to make it louder. After 1,200 miles, our ears weren’t ringing like they did on the Street Glide with V&H slip ons. Curious to see if you actually notice a difference.
Did you skip a lot of steps? How do you connect the app to the fuelpak? It looked like it just asked you for the exhaust? What about Air Intake or more importantly headers or a Cat delete? I have a big mouth air intake, slip-ones and a cat delete. I am looking at purchasing this but don't want to waste money if its not going to take my mods. LOL Hope this makes sense. Thanks!
Sorry brother I filmed this a few years back and don’t even have that bike anymore. Around the 5 minute mark you can see it shows high flow air cleaner which is what I believe it calls any of them. I don’t recall skipping any steps and it was simple to hook up. Sorry I am not much detail help but it was awhile ago .
