What a great behind the scenes video - thank you for sharing this. I had no idea this was such a major operation and clearly a ton of science, care and logistics. Can’t wait to place another order!
@@Nextdaykoisales well you are probably going to delete this but you need to know... i won 110 fish at auction. They were shipped in 2 boxes, i am at the end of delivery route, they were put in quarantine pond with no other fish... at 3 months later 50% have died and i continue to see infected fish with fin rot body sores mouth rot ... all this results in dead fish ... just now a beautiful butterfly koi came up to eat and rolls to dive and i see its main fin is being eaten by parasites... sad this is my next death ... at delivery i put 25 in a 200 gal established aquarium, at feeding time i notice a tashio with red on its mouth and find the whole left side of jaw is being eaten away by parasites... this one i might can save with meds but will be maimed for life. I have searched for explanations thinking its me, thinking ive done something wrong... i ordered fish from you in 10/2021 this same thing happened until eventually they stopped dieing and i now have the survivalist... in a separate area as i dare not get these old fish near the new infected ones. My conclusion is, you keep your fish in a salt solution, great for you but that is breeding a super parasites. They are held in check by salt and customers put your fish in pure Water and the parasites are free, coupled with scratches in shipping, makes the perfect combination for your parasites to kill the the fish you just sent me... So 3 months later and 55÷ out 110 fish dead I am not such a happy customer...
I bought 6 Koi and 3 long fin Shubunkin goldfish from Next Day Koi. All are super healthy happy koi and goldfish! I’ll be buying more once my second pond is finished being built! Great quality fish Next Day Koi! Thank you! 🥰❤️
I've always wanted to know how you pick out the correct fish to ship to me. Thank you for taking the time to explain the process I really enjoyed this video!
With thousands of koi on the farm, it definitely requires a good organization system! Shout out to our fantastic shipping team for always getting the right koi to the right customers. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Great stuff and good to see behind the scenes! Can't wait for my 5 beautiful random butterfly koi to arrive. I guess the only question I had was how do you decide which fish to include in the pond packs? Is it random or you aim for a good variety of colors?
I ordered a package of 25 AA grade Butterfly Koi and received them the day after they were shipped. I am so happy with the variety of colors you sent. The fish arrived healthy and are all beautiful specimens. I am curious how long they could live in the oxygen filled bags if the delivery had to be delayed for some reason.
Hey James! We're glad to hear that you're happy with your fish. There are a lot of factors that go into how long koi can live in our packaging, but we are sure to take into consideration shipping and transit delays. We'd love to see your new koi in your pond - tag us on Facebook or Instagram if you post pics.
Wow, amazing operation. I’m somewhat new to the world of Koi. As with most things these days you can Google questions. I have found there to be lots of conflicting information however. So my mai question is this. I have a small but very nice pond with a waterfall , lots of rocks for wet surfaces for bacteria growth. The water is sparkling clear. Even algae is under control. I’ve started with a few four inch and recently added 2 seven inch and one eleven. They seem to have lots of room but know they will grow fast. Now if you read information they tell you one koi per 200 gallons. Yet I see peoples ponds with loads of big fish. Swimming tightly together with seemingly little room. So my question is just how many little guys can you have in approximately 350 gallons ? My ultimate goal is to build a 1000 gallon for when they get bigger.
Hey Lee, thanks for the compliments on the video! To your question.. the guidelines you see like "one koi per 200 gallons" or "one inch of fish per 10 gallons" are just starting points of advice for koi keeping. There are several factors that contribute to a proper stocking density for a certain pond or tank. Things like filtration, flow, design and water change will all play into how many fish you can safely keep in a system. So the short answer is that there is no universal rule for stocking density. As you continue your journey in the hobby hopefully you will learn more about these factors and how many fish you can safely keep in your system or systems. Good luck!
Their goldfish collections are hidden gems, esp the "perfect" longtail Shubukin, it is heaven
Amazing work buddy 🎉 love the koi and photography
