First learnt Half the world away after watching this exact tutorial video (along with loads of others you've uploaded) back in 2010 when I was just starting out on guitar...came back today to refresh my memory on the chords.Almost 10 years on and I have a few more guitars..a lot more wrinkles..but your Oasis tutorials still remain the stuff of legend in my mind and provide me with as much joy as they did back in the day. Thanks Pete.
I started playing the guitar seriously after hearing Oasis's Songbird... and believe me mate, your AWESOME tutorials have me hooked onto guitar soooo much! Nowadays all I'm doing is scouting for your video tuts on RUclips all day long! You're a GREAT teacher man... thanx sooo much!! :D BTW, I always thought that you were from Britain... turns out you're from Aus... cool! Cheers! :D
Sorry about the previous 2 posts - The dangers of posting comments with an i-phone! What I meant to say now I am on a laptop..... Really great video. Lovely calm & considered delivery with tips on getting that "authentic" sound. Having been trying to play the guitar for years, "Rocksmith" has given me the desire & possible hope to give it another go. Been learning on an electric but will be up in the loft today to track down the acoustic to make that suffer for a week or so! Many thanks!
this is great, I'm an absolute novice and this is giving me a decent idea of what to do! ... thanks so much for posting this x Beautiful guitar btw - with the adidas sticker on it (attention to detail)
I only discovered you a few months back & I have to say, you're the best Oasis acoustic teacherererer ererer on RUclips & I should know, I've seen a few :0) Going to see Oasis in 3 weeks in Manchester & will be doing some practice from your lessons before I go. Cheers are kid !
Gee - thanks. I'm not sure I'm that good a teacher, but I'm glad people are finding these tutorials useful. Very jealous you are getting to see Oasis though. Doesn't look like they are gonna make it to Australia during the current tour :-(
maybee if guitar teachers watched this and stuck to simple method id be still taking lessons top vid mate you ve made me get my rickenbacker out and fall in love all over again your the ladder to climb the walls that keep popping up cheers the paddyman
Just for the record georgiarose, as I know you are a big Oasis fan, I work as a cabbie just outside London & had a pick up from the Hilton on Park Lane W1. The wife of the couple I was picking up was having a birthday & her husband, on a trip to the loos, sees Noel sitting close by. He tells him it's is wife's birthday & would he mind just saying "hello?" Noel came over, gave the woman a big kiss & sat with the guys for about 20 mins! BTW, Any chance of "Fairytale of New York" for Crimbo?
@QwiikDropShots Sorry. My tutorials are not really aimed to teach guitar, just to teach people who already can play guitar the chords to the songs. I just hope people can take from that and develop their own strumming patterns and chord transitions.
@QwiikDropShots I know how you feel, when I first started out I understood how to make the chord shapes easy, but got very confused about strumming. After a year of playing 2 hours a day I can make it sound like the song, it really is trial and error until your brain works it out
This tutorial is the mutts nutts, but can you break down the transition from the verse to the bridge to the chorus a little more, I'm just learning and I can't quite get it! Cheers in a bit
Your videos are amazing iv learnt so much from u! Keep them up!! Just wandering is your guitar a Gibson or an epiphone and also where did u get your adidas sticker from iv tried everywhere???
top jolly fella! i`m still an absolute begginer but i`m gettin my head and fingers around a few oasis tunes..... seen em at heaton park 6th june, check out the vid of the wife largin it to this tune on my channel. nice one. breeze
These videos are really good, I've watched almost all of them, but do you think you could tell me where to put my fingers exactly on the frets? I'm a bit new to the guitar and can't quite get the sound right, mostly because my fingering is a bit off. Any help I would apreciate.
@georgiarose16 i didnt meen it offensive sorry, i just meen i can change chord's easy i just cant get the strumming right but in time im sure i will :)
if u can do a half barre over the lowest 3 strings (string 321) then u can play the chord if u either mute or dont play the bass e string (string 6). will do the trick
You should practice barre chords because they are very important. However, for this song to play F, just make the Fmaj7 shape but then fret 1st fret on the high E string with your first finger as well as the B string above it on the same fret. This acts as a mini barre chord. Just make sure to mute the low E string when doing this so you don't get an E in the bass. If your interested in music theory, this chord is an F inversion called F/C because it is an F chord with C in the bass as the lowest note.

Hi
Keep the covers coming
Is your guitar a Epiphone John Lennon?
thanks
@QwiikDropShots learn how to play more simple songs and strumming patterns before trying this song if you cant already!
Is that the gibson j series or an ephiphone? Also you love playing C with a G in the bass whenever you play em. Sounds nice very elliot Smith like
i am in love with your guitar x its really pretty x sorry typical girl moments ... lol x
thanks for putting this on youtube x
you look like the old drummer from Oasis, Andy White!!!!!
@chiefstain yea i just struggle with the strumming
any chance of love is the law by the seahorses chris helemes acoustic part ? in original key please.
What kind of guitar is that? it sounds good.
can you do wonderwall if you can could you do a tutorial please
how do you do the plucking bit ?
ace vid
Why everybody prefer the D major vers instead of the Original C major Studio Version? :/
I ask me that too
Because it's so much easier to play for a beginner
Is there an alternative for bar chords? I can’t play them
if u can do a half barre over the lowest 3 strings (string 321) then u can play the chord if u either mute or dont play the bass e string (string 6). will do the trick

I'm fairly sure the album version is in standard key, i.e no capo.

Hi
What capo do you use?
