“In single-target, for your second rotation, if you have a well built team, even if you don’t get enough Energy to Burst on that second rotation, you will likely be able to finish off the chamber before actually needing to Burst for a second time” (this is only a portion of what Noir wrote, read the guide for full context and more insight). This is almost always overlooked, but for Wanderer is very relevant, at high investment. In practice we rarely need a full second rotation, so the Burst doesn’t need to be recharged in 1 rotation, but in 1.x rotations. I’m excited about your guide, because I can see you are a “complete” theory crafter, and this is rare. Often, theory crafters are good at math, but they are lacking in reasoning ability or actual gameplay experience. I’m the opposite, I don’t do math. Theory craft, though, is a combination of both things, and when they are properly combined guides of much higher quality can be done. Obviously, we are humans and none will make a perfect guide, but they can be valuable nonetheless. Also, things can be discussed and the guides can be updated.

About the combos with A4 dash cancels, I think might be worth mentioning in the guide (if you didn’t) that ideally we should keep a little distance between Wanderer and the enemy. The reason is that the third Normal Attack deals 2 hits. These hits happen at the same time if you are too close to the enemy, so they will count as a single hit for the A4. If you keep a little distance instead, the second hit of the third Normal Attack will be delayed a little, and will count as an extra hit for his A4. This can make a noticeable difference, it makes the N3N2D combo incredibly reliable, enough that we can consider the A4 proc as guaranteed.
@@brghtknght3667 I’m not sure, hopefully Noir can answer. I only know it is the recommended standardised combo pre C6. The chances of the A4 proc happening with that combo is close to 100% (given that you don’t stay too close to the enemy), so you don’t need to pay attention to when you get the proc, and the dash allows to skip the third NA, that takes much longer. Depending on the Attack Speed, I guess you could also be able to fit one more dash cancel by doing N3N2D rather than N3N3D. There is also the option of dashing dynamically after either N3 or N2 depending on when you get the proc (but always waiting for the closest N3 or N2 for a proper dash cancel, for example if you get the proc with the second Normal Attack you should dash after the third Normal Attack). This allows to fit more dash cancels based on luck, but I’m not sure how much doing this is worth, I didn’t calculate it. Sometimes, especially if the enemy is a bit far, I like to dash after N3 if I have the proc already available. Because if I manage to dash before the two hits from the third Normal Attack reach the enemy, those two hits already count for the next A4 proc. If I successfully do that, there is 12% + 24% + 36% + 48% chance of receiving another proc within the closest N2, which means being able to dash again after N3. This technique sometimes allows to do a satisfying chain of consecutive N3D.
This is the best guide I’ve seen for Wanderer bar none. The in depth look at his best teammates was super helpful for me, as well as the advice to float higher when infused with hydro to avoid enemy attacks while still maintaining a good rotation length

12:00 it is also worth noting the time you take to farm for the increase you get, by example shimenawa is along with probably the best set in the entire game for more than 1 year ago, so if you already farmed and have a good shimenawa set you should stick with that, remember that these calcs are only for guidance, it’s not the rule, the fact that pavilion is 6% better doesn’t mean it will be 6% better in YOUR account because you have much more time farming shimenawa and your shimenawa set is probably infinitely better, what translates to “6% better” in the calcs becomes 100% worse and not worth, because it really, REALLY takes months and resin that you could be spending on wanderer’s talents or levels (or his supports), if your shimenawa is good enough, or if you’re planning to farm emblem for a bunch of other units then you should stick to it since his BiS is only 6% better in equal conditions. By example mine, in no way i’ll ever be farming his set, because i’ve been farming emblem for months for my bunch of units, i’ve been saving all those pieces and keep them there, i have multiple 40CV+ pieces on wanderer, pieces that are nearly impossible to replace and if it’s even possible it would take MONTHS (for those wondering my wanderer stats are 78.6/169 crit ratio, however that was a joke and that’s dodoco tales build, he sits at 78.6/224.8 with the widsith, and that’s not even his best stats i don’t have 1 set of shimenawa i have other shimenawa pieces around there, which sits my wanderer at 67.4/249.7 crit ratio, the reason why i have the previous crit ratio is because i hecking love to crit consistently, and i see myself missing plenty crits with 67 crit rate, imo it’s not worth doing more dmg per crit if i don’t crit as often and also with the other i get more ER and an ATK stat and a bit of EM for swirl too, is just overall better), so my point is, i’m never replacing that set EVER again, so it’s very important for y’all to consider those scenarios.

Really nice guide, it answered my main question of if his A4 talent was a dps loss, really happy to hear it isn't with n3 because I absolutely love its sounds and visuals. Love to hear it! His A4 also isn’t just a dps gain because of N3, but because of how his scalings are spread out. What I mean by this is, in the same time you could do N3, you could also N2D N1, which, with A4 on the dash, is more damage than going to the N3, and you don’t lose out on NAs because you simply got back to N1 faster as opposed to going to N3
Will you ever make a guide/video on Wanderer Teams without C6 Faruzan? I see a lot of theorycrafters only cover C6 Faruzan teams and barely speak about the alternative options
There are team options for teams without her in the guide, more detailed in the written guide. I do also explain here how to rotate with her if she’s below c6 (at least c2) but if a video dedicated specifically to that is desired I could do so
Liking him so far, still has problems with over-all aoe attack, but I could live with it. Just wish they release a hydro shielder so he could get a longer stamina point.
With AoE a trick is to position yourself right above the group of enemies (colliding into them allows you to fly over without using stamina points in a lot of cases), it'll allow him to hit the most center one and get all of them into his aoe.
@@Kai-lz4hcit's more on the radius of his attack rather than grouping enemies. Like the tf domain. Sometimes he just doesn't hit 1 enemy due to how small it is

We can’t increase Wanderer’s attack radius, but by doing what they described, we can manipulate the collision point of Normal Attacks, so we can hit the enemies from a position that will allow Wanderer to hit enemies that he would otherwise not be able to hit. The AoE of Normal Attacks is centred on the collision point. I’m not sure this is understandable, it is a bit difficult to explain with words.
@@kianmarcial8884The radius of normal attacks aoe is actually big. The issue is that it will be around the collision point of the first enemy it touches, so half of the aoe is wasted. Doing the tech I described allows you to actually use the full radius of the normals' aoe.
They don’t all need to be c6. Rosaria is fully functional at c2. Xiangling at c4. Yun Jin constellations are great but she still functions properly at c0 it’s just gonna be less damage. Thoma works as long as you have c4 for energy. Yanfei only needs her c4. Mika only needs to be c0 - c4 is nice for his energy but he does his job at c0. Xinyan does what she needs to do at c2 most her other constellations are useless for a shield build. Beidou also just needs her c2

for your calcs about the damage per rotation with widsith r5, i only activate one of the three buffs on half of my rotations, does this mean that i can use the average calculation, or did you average the three buffs in three rotations?
What about diona? Shes a shielder like Layla that also can be a healer (usefull against the dogs on the abyss) with some convenient buffs like the mov speed and less stamina consumption (it applies to his stamina)
Do you think farming for Pavilion is worth it for C2 Wanderer? I don't think i will use Paradise Lost over 4p Gilded for EM characters, and my current ratio with 2p ATK and 2p Anemo is around 80/200 already. Thanks
Yo I need some help, my wanderer is C2 and Faruzan is C5 (tried so hard but couldn’t get her, prolly will get her during next rerun). Would you recommend me to get Venti for a wanderer Hypercarry with triple Anemo to help with Er and mainly grouping. I also have Kazuha C1 but he has more field time and doesn’t group over a long period of time. I also wanna get the hydro archon and she’s coming soon. So overall would Venti be a very good choice to get for my wanderer team if I already have Kazuha?
hard for me to give a recommendation on that right now with lynette coming out tonight and having no clue what she does yet. I will get back to you after shes out and ive TC'd her since its possible you could use her for this depending on what she does

How about Candace as another 4th slot? iirc her damage bonus is universal and at c6 she could allow for freeze Also for Layla and Zhong teams, wouldn't it be better to have them on 4pc tenacity and Faruzan on some build to increase her damage?
Ive calculated Candace before but the amount of buffing she provides wasn''t worth it compared to other options. And for Layla/Zhongli, you could use them on TOTM to use Faruzan on something else, but the DPS gain of using Faruzan on a damage set like 2 anemo 2 anemo isnt very much so I figured it more reasonable to calc 2 hp 2 hp to maximize shield. TOTM is also pretty unreliable on ZL a lot of the time due to his limited range
Im trying mika with layla right now just for fun and its not that bad. Do you not recommend it just because its not near as focused on buffing attack as if hes with yun jin? Dont get me wrong it feels like a pretty decent dps loss but its pretty fun.
I don’t recommend it because if Mika isn’t providing cryo a1 his value drops a lot, and if you are using layla you already have Cryo a1. It is very fun tho and certainly viable, just not good enough in comparison to other team options to recommend
5:04 A4: "In NA combos this will usually result in more DPS than just spamming NAs" Interesting. I've seen mixed opinions on this. Although I assume that confusion comes from it sort of depending on his attack speed. So I assume that at C1 (since it also increases the A4's damage) when he's at the regular 20% attack speed and NA spamming, regularly using it would be better? And before that it's not really worth it. Edit: you talk about this more in the combos section, my apologies. That's very interesting and good to know though. I've been sort of floundering on when exactly and how much to use the A4. Thank you!
The main reason for the “mixed opinions” is that some people didn’t calculate it, they just assumed it wasn’t a DPS gain and spread that as “information”. It is like the opinions about “Layla not being consistent at providing Cryo application for Wanderer’s A1 because her Cryo application is slow”. In reality her Cryo application is good enough, controllable to some extent (with the right combo, you can make it happen at the right time), and at C6 Layla can even easily allow to use Freedom Sworn Bennet in single target encounters.
@@GxGNoir Thank you for letting me know. I didn’t test the rotations in AoE, so to be safe and avoid risking to spread misinformation I specified single target (which is what I tested). Freedom Sworn requires to trigger two reactions. Can I just do “Layla Q > Faruzan Q > Bennet E Q > Layla E”? Will this also also give Wanderer the Cryo buff or rapidly casting E Q with Bennet might interfere?

@@ancalyme I just re-watched Flips video and I feel like there is some context missing here. Nowhere in the video do I hear him downplaying how powerful Haitham is. Rather, he is making arguments about why is pull value isn't as high as people make it out to be. One of the arguments he makes is that Alhaithams most optimal teams use Nahida (you can of course play him without Nahida and still do great, but Nahida is almost surely the most optimal) and that the teams hes used in (QB and Quicken) can be played without him and still be very strong. He also mentions that running Haitham doesnt really improve the vertical scaling of those teams since his constellations arent very good so his best early vertical investment is Nahida C2, and you can pull Nahida C2 and just use those teams without him. If we are talking about pull value and not power I think thats a fair point. Now, there are several things in his video that I dont agree with. Example, I feel like he downplayed the value of a defensive dendro like Baizhu (Baizhus role consolidation lets you run Kazuha for grouping+making Yae do a lot more damage). And in his verdict he implies that Nahida makes Haitham irrelevant. I dont agree with that at all. When I commented that he made pretty good points and that I may have overrated him a bit, I was refering primarily to the points about his pull value. I may not agree with everything he said but I didnt think it unreasonable to acknowledge that I think some good points were made even if I dont necessarily agree. Perhaps I should've made a more written out comment on that video giving my exact thoughts to prevent such confusion.
Because it doesnt cause you to miss out on normal attacks. If used after N3 it will cancel the endlag so you dont actually lose any NAs by inputting them there. and if done after N2, then it just gets you to your N1 faster. Example: N3=695.9 total multiplier. But with a dash after N2 you can do N2+D+N1 in that same timeframe as a N3. Which would be 735.15 scaling. And if you use it after a N3, then you get that same 695.9 scaling that you would, but an additional 120 scaling from A4, and it again doesnt cause you to lose any NAs since its just cancelling your endlag. So tldr: A4 is a DPS gain because after N3 it cancels your endlag, and after N2 it just makes your next hit N1 instead of N3 which doesnt actually result in less damage. Hope that makes sense!

Personally I would put mona and c4 jean in the 3rd slot. Mona's buff is really close to bennett buff she is better in freeze teams. And Faruzan without c6 is not better than yunjin

My wanderer is now C1 with R1 LPSW, 10/10/8 talent, 4p SR, 94/208 crit. My team is bennett, C6 faruzan, zhongli. If I'm not planning to farm DPC and TR, is it worth it to go for atk spd team like faruzan, mika, yunjin?
C1 10% Mika 25%(crown) Yunjin 15% total 50% attack speed. Single target overworld boss go for n3 spam sure hell is fun. Abyss is kinda whacky. Some small enemies will float up and u will lose dps = time loss. And u will overcap your crit rate if u swirl cryo from mika. Maybe drop mika. And use bennet instead. N2C spam. U will see significant damage increase plus aoe 👍

@@GxGNoir yea they are actually called consecrated because they devoured the remains of a god to turn from normal animal to big giant pest. Consecrated means holy place roughly so it’s ironic. You can find the scorpions in inazuma now by the snake btw.
Would he be alright to play without bennett and c6 faruzan. I'm a bit iffy with taking bennett away from xiangling. What about national? Should he still be built normally or with EM? I have 0 artifacts for him and I have been 36 star abyss with no issues so far. I just want him to lessen the chores of doing exploration and dailies mostly. Please advise me on how good his exploration team is. I really hope to save a lot of time by pulling him. But would love to know if he would still be alright to play in the abyss..
If it’s just for exploration doesn’t matter what team you use with him - I just use him with whatever units I need friendship experience on for overworld. Also you never build him on EM
This guide is cope. Wanderer aoe is horrible unlike the other better hypercarries such as Yoimiya, Eula, and especially Hu Tao. He’s only meh in ST. Around Itto level. 🤡🤡🤡💀

By example mine, in no way i’ll ever be farming his set, because i’ve been farming emblem for months for my bunch of units, i’ve been saving all those pieces and keep them there, i have multiple 40CV+ pieces on wanderer, pieces that are nearly impossible to replace and if it’s even possible it would take MONTHS (for those wondering my wanderer stats are 78.6/169 crit ratio, however that was a joke and that’s dodoco tales build, he sits at 78.6/224.8 with the widsith, and that’s not even his best stats i don’t have 1 set of shimenawa i have other shimenawa pieces around there, which sits my wanderer at 67.4/249.7 crit ratio, the reason why i have the previous crit ratio is because i hecking love to crit consistently, and i see myself missing plenty crits with 67 crit rate, imo it’s not worth doing more dmg per crit if i don’t crit as often and also with the other i get more ER and an ATK stat and a bit of EM for swirl too, is just overall better), so my point is, i’m never replacing that set EVER again, so it’s very important for y’all to consider those scenarios.

Love to hear it! His A4 also isn’t just a dps gain because of N3, but because of how his scalings are spread out. What I mean by this is, in the same time you could do N3, you could also N2D N1, which, with A4 on the dash, is more damage than going to the N3, and you don’t lose out on NAs because you simply got back to N1 faster as opposed to going to N3

Will you ever make a guide/video on Wanderer Teams without C6 Faruzan? I see a lot of theorycrafters only cover C6 Faruzan teams and barely speak about the alternative options
There are team options for teams without her in the guide, more detailed in the written guide. I do also explain here how to rotate with her if she’s below c6 (at least c2) but if a video dedicated specifically to that is desired I could do so

Liking him so far, still has problems with over-all aoe attack, but I could live with it. Just wish they release a hydro shielder so he could get a longer stamina point.
Knowing Mihoyo, they'll find a way to make the hydro shielder difficult or at least suboptimal, to use with the Wanderer
With AoE a trick is to position yourself right above the group of enemies (colliding into them allows you to fly over without using stamina points in a lot of cases), it'll allow him to hit the most center one and get all of them into his aoe.
@@Kai-lz4hcit's more on the radius of his attack rather than grouping enemies. Like the tf domain. Sometimes he just doesn't hit 1 enemy due to how small it is

We can’t increase Wanderer’s attack radius, but by doing what they described, we can manipulate the collision point of Normal Attacks, so we can hit the enemies from a position that will allow Wanderer to hit enemies that he would otherwise not be able to hit. The AoE of Normal Attacks is centred on the collision point.
I’m not sure this is understandable, it is a bit difficult to explain with words.
@@kianmarcial8884The radius of normal attacks aoe is actually big. The issue is that it will be around the collision point of the first enemy it touches, so half of the aoe is wasted. Doing the tech I described allows you to actually use the full radius of the normals' aoe.

They don’t all need to be c6. Rosaria is fully functional at c2. Xiangling at c4. Yun Jin constellations are great but she still functions properly at c0 it’s just gonna be less damage. Thoma works as long as you have c4 for energy. Yanfei only needs her c4. Mika only needs to be c0 - c4 is nice for his energy but he does his job at c0. Xinyan does what she needs to do at c2 most her other constellations are useless for a shield build. Beidou also just needs her c2

for your calcs about the damage per rotation with widsith r5, i only activate one of the three buffs on half of my rotations, does this mean that i can use the average calculation, or did you average the three buffs in three rotations?
I averaged the three in one rotation by giving all three buffs and divinding them by 6 to account for rng and downtime
What about diona? Shes a shielder like Layla that also can be a healer (usefull against the dogs on the abyss) with some convenient buffs like the mov speed and less stamina consumption (it applies to his stamina)
Her rotations are incredibly scuffed and makes her just not worth it compared to other options. Her stamina buff does not work on Wanderer
Do you think farming for Pavilion is worth it for C2 Wanderer? I don't think i will use Paradise Lost over 4p Gilded for EM characters, and my current ratio with 2p ATK and 2p Anemo is around 80/200 already. Thanks

Yo I need some help, my wanderer is C2 and Faruzan is C5 (tried so hard but couldn’t get her, prolly will get her during next rerun). Would you recommend me to get Venti for a wanderer Hypercarry with triple Anemo to help with Er and mainly grouping. I also have Kazuha C1 but he has more field time and doesn’t group over a long period of time. I also wanna get the hydro archon and she’s coming soon. So overall would Venti be a very good choice to get for my wanderer team if I already have Kazuha?
hard for me to give a recommendation on that right now with lynette coming out tonight and having no clue what she does yet. I will get back to you after shes out and ive TC'd her since its possible you could use her for this depending on what she does

Ive calculated Candace before but the amount of buffing she provides wasn''t worth it compared to other options. And for Layla/Zhongli, you could use them on TOTM to use Faruzan on something else, but the DPS gain of using Faruzan on a damage set like 2 anemo 2 anemo isnt very much so I figured it more reasonable to calc 2 hp 2 hp to maximize shield. TOTM is also pretty unreliable on ZL a lot of the time due to his limited range

You can use 2 Hp 2 emblem or 2 hp 2 Hp or you can use him on 4 emblem and build him as a sub dps with pyro cup and crit circlet

Im trying mika with layla right now just for fun and its not that bad. Do you not recommend it just because its not near as focused on buffing attack as if hes with yun jin? Dont get me wrong it feels like a pretty decent dps loss but its pretty fun.
I don’t recommend it because if Mika isn’t providing cryo a1 his value drops a lot, and if you are using layla you already have Cryo a1. It is very fun tho and certainly viable, just not good enough in comparison to other team options to recommend

Interesting. I've seen mixed opinions on this. Although I assume that confusion comes from it sort of depending on his attack speed. So I assume that at C1 (since it also increases the A4's damage) when he's at the regular 20% attack speed and NA spamming, regularly using it would be better? And before that it's not really worth it.
Edit: you talk about this more in the combos section, my apologies. That's very interesting and good to know though. I've been sort of floundering on when exactly and how much to use the A4. Thank you!
The main reason for the “mixed opinions” is that some people didn’t calculate it, they just assumed it wasn’t a DPS gain and spread that as “information”.
It is like the opinions about “Layla not being consistent at providing Cryo application for Wanderer’s A1 because her Cryo application is slow”. In reality her Cryo application is good enough, controllable to some extent (with the right combo, you can make it happen at the right time), and at C6 Layla can even easily allow to use Freedom Sworn Bennet in single target encounters.

Freedom Sworn requires to trigger two reactions. Can I just do “Layla Q > Faruzan Q > Bennet E Q > Layla E”? Will this also also give Wanderer the Cryo buff or rapidly casting E Q with Bennet might interfere?

@@ancalyme I just re-watched Flips video and I feel like there is some context missing here. Nowhere in the video do I hear him downplaying how powerful Haitham is. Rather, he is making arguments about why is pull value isn't as high as people make it out to be. One of the arguments he makes is that Alhaithams most optimal teams use Nahida (you can of course play him without Nahida and still do great, but Nahida is almost surely the most optimal) and that the teams hes used in (QB and Quicken) can be played without him and still be very strong. He also mentions that running Haitham doesnt really improve the vertical scaling of those teams since his constellations arent very good so his best early vertical investment is Nahida C2, and you can pull Nahida C2 and just use those teams without him. If we are talking about pull value and not power I think thats a fair point. Now, there are several things in his video that I dont agree with. Example, I feel like he downplayed the value of a defensive dendro like Baizhu (Baizhus role consolidation lets you run Kazuha for grouping+making Yae do a lot more damage). And in his verdict he implies that Nahida makes Haitham irrelevant. I dont agree with that at all. When I commented that he made pretty good points and that I may have overrated him a bit, I was refering primarily to the points about his pull value. I may not agree with everything he said but I didnt think it unreasonable to acknowledge that I think some good points were made even if I dont necessarily agree. Perhaps I should've made a more written out comment on that video giving my exact thoughts to prevent such confusion.
Is it worth it to use yunjin at C0 or constelations lower than C6 in his teams?
Some of the other options could do better than her, but I find that she still works very well even at c0 (my YJ is c0)

Because it doesnt cause you to miss out on normal attacks. If used after N3 it will cancel the endlag so you dont actually lose any NAs by inputting them there. and if done after N2, then it just gets you to your N1 faster. Example: N3=695.9 total multiplier. But with a dash after N2 you can do N2+D+N1 in that same timeframe as a N3. Which would be 735.15 scaling. And if you use it after a N3, then you get that same 695.9 scaling that you would, but an additional 120 scaling from A4, and it again doesnt cause you to lose any NAs since its just cancelling your endlag.
So tldr: A4 is a DPS gain because after N3 it cancels your endlag, and after N2 it just makes your next hit N1 instead of N3 which doesnt actually result in less damage.

Mona's buff is really close to bennett buff she is better in freeze teams. And Faruzan without c6 is not better than yunjin
Hello, what do you think will be best for Wanderer C1, Faruzan C5 and Bennett C1? I have Leyla C0, Toma C1 or Zongli who i want to get from next baner.
My wanderer is now C1 with R1 LPSW, 10/10/8 talent, 4p SR, 94/208 crit. My team is bennett, C6 faruzan, zhongli. If I'm not planning to farm DPC and TR, is it worth it to go for atk spd team like faruzan, mika, yunjin?

Single target overworld boss go for n3 spam sure hell is fun. Abyss is kinda whacky. Some small enemies will float up and u will lose dps = time loss. And u will overcap your crit rate if u swirl cryo from mika. Maybe drop mika. And use bennet instead. N2C spam. U will see significant damage increase plus aoe 👍
Should still be good tho I advise using bennett over Mika unless you just need to free up bennett for another team

Would he be alright to play without bennett and c6 faruzan. I'm a bit iffy with taking bennett away from xiangling. What about national? Should he still be built normally or with EM? I have 0 artifacts for him and I have been 36 star abyss with no issues so far. I just want him to lessen the chores of doing exploration and dailies mostly. Please advise me on how good his exploration team is. I really hope to save a lot of time by pulling him. But would love to know if he would still be alright to play in the abyss..
If it’s just for exploration doesn’t matter what team you use with him - I just use him with whatever units I need friendship experience on for overworld. Also you never build him on EM
