After returning from school and the post office, Winifred works on her pantry filling it with her favourite autumn and winter food: nuts, dark chocolate, spices, dried orange peels, apple sauce and tea blends. Inspired by her grandmother's anecdotes, she makes a delicious jam with the last fruits from the garden. To finish her lovely day, she bakes little pastries and enjoys an autumnal afternoon tea.

Winifred is extremely inspired by the way her grandmother, Rose and Aunt Florence used to embrace nature and the seasons. And her curiosity about the Order is as strong as her motivation. She decides to write to Chloe about it and suggests placing a discreet announcement in the Bermothill newspaper.

When a young countryside teacher receives a box from her grandmother's lifelong friend, her solitary life will suddenly turn into a beautiful search for happiness and magic.

I live in a very loud and busy city. Work today was crazy, and after coming home I was feeling tense and anxious. I put up RUclips and this was randomly recommended to me (though I do watch the occasional fall season cozy vid), so I don’t quite yet know how your episodes work but gosh, I am absolutely loving this happy autumnal bliss you’ve created!!! So, thank you for this story, the music, the shots of scenery, and everything you’ve done to make this my new way to unwind, imagine another life, and feel at peace 🍁 I’m subscribing and will have to catch up on your other episodes!

I live in a calm district but still near Munich (I have filmed many beautiful landscapes in the south of Germany and then the magic of editing makes it look like I live in the countryside, especially in the first episode when I filmed with the same clothes in the Austrian alps and then at home), but the truth is I work full time as a bookkeeper and struggle with stress. Winifred's life is my dream life 🤎✨ Let's remain positive that one day, we will enjoy the peace we long for!

Another lovely video. I was watching in the evening while sipping a chamomile/lavender blend, my go-to at night :) I also love black tea with lavender blend that I make myself.
Oh thank you so much sweet friend!! 💫🤎 What a coincidence that we were both with a similar blend! I am still getting used to lavender in tea, I find it a bit strong but very tasty nevertheless.
@@thecottagelibrary I did notice you lavender proportion was quite high in the video - maybe add a bit less for a lighter touch. I tend to go for 1 part of lavender to 2 or 3 parts of chamomile, depending how fresh my lavender is and I only add a sprinkle of lavender to my black tea (or even coffee sometimes).

It might seem silly that I could have googled it, but I research so many things already for the series, it’s just me for everything and sometimes I just need to experiment! I have always loved little jars of spices and james and teas and curds and applesauce. I find it visually so cozy and homey. Weather I use them or not... I just love looking at them on a shelf or counter. Also , watching you make those adorable pastries reminds me of being a little girl and imagining baking all those wonderful goodies when I grew up! I am tempted to make a few . You made it look very doable.

Hello 👋 I am new here and have been catching up. I am in awe of what you manage to do yourself 😳 i also saw a couple of difficult comments one about canning . I can see the ladies point that someone watching could try and make jam that way too not realising it's a story so thats a very good point to be careful with food items or potential poisonous plants as someone new might not realise. Also someone saying about it being fake. I have also unsubscribed from a few cottagey youtube channels that clearly have a big production team behind them yet they promise it's just their solitary self filming. I think a few of these channels are actually set up by RUclips but its so disappointing that these people are actually lying. I always unsubscribe when i realise that. I guess it's a massive compliment to you that they think you are a big production. You are doing amazing. 🍀

It’s important to know that videos are always edited so the creators show what they want, just like a movie o tv series. I live in a modern apartment for example, but I planned everything to film some scenes at a cottage door and fireplace. I need it for my story. ☺️ In my description I say it’s a work of fiction and I’m creating a series, etc… but of course, most people don’t read the description ☺️ or they haven’t seen all the behind the scenes on instagram/Patreon

Your videos are lovely! I found them randomly and they are very relaxing. However, as a veteran canner, berry jams should be immersed into a hot water bath for a minimum of 10 minutes for long term storage and to eliminate the risk of your jam developing botulism. Putting them directly onto a shelf while skipping this step is dangerous. Please be careful.
Oh thank you so much for your comment and for taking the time to explain that! 🤎One of the jam jars went actually directly to the fridge to be eaten on the following day and the other one I used it for the pastries. Just the apple sauce jars went to the shelf but those were unfortunately bought. Being just one person to create the whole series from scripts to editing is being really challenging, I always write in the description that this series is just a work of fiction but if sometimes the video give the wrong impression, it could go terribly wrong. I’ll try to film and edit in a way that don’t confuse viewers. Thank you for the warning!! 🤎🍂

Yes, I think explaining the water bath process is a good thing because it did appear as though they went directly on to the shelf. There are some recipes that are hot pack only but jams generally are not. Keep up the great work! Your viodes are just lovely and aesthetically pleasing.
@@Katniss1975 Ohh you're so kind!! Thank you! Absolutely, I make a lot of props, and use a lot of tricks while filming but I would never use food just to simply through it away! Sometimes my neighbours receive some sweet stuff because it is just too much for me :) Canning and preserving my own food is a goal though! Have a wonderful day!

I recently read somewhere that walking or traveling while observing the changing landscape generates a state of mental trance that makes thoughts and ideas flow like a crystal clear river. I feel like your video does the same to me, because listening to a fascinating story that doesn't match the scenes I'm watching (also fascinating) gives me the same state of mind.
