- Freshly shipped gimbal and a sunset with the 3DR Solo. No flyaway with this thing, steady as a surgeon after a fifth of Beam.
Filmed at Mt. Bonnell in Austin.
#fly3dr
Thank for the song from local Austin artists, Water and Rust.
very nice! looks like the gimbal was worth the wait
Love the smiles at the end :D
Was stationed a Bergstrom back in the early 80s. Mt. Bonnell was a serious party place after leaving the clubs downtown. In fact, there use to be a 2 story club called "The Party" which is where everyone went to on Friday nights. But, I was so shocked to see all the re-settling just below Mt. Bonnell. Those owners had better have some amazing insurance in case the river overflows. Seriously, those homes take away from Mt. Bonnell and the river. That is sad for generations to come.
This is so good!
you folks in TX have a funny idea of what is a mountain. :p
Live in Austin and got my Solo a few weeks ago. Mt Bonnell is on my list of places to take it. Great video by the way! Hope I'm at least as successful!
Awesome....is that over close to Reds Back Porch?
+Ray Brothers Nah Reds is down south. Bonnell is up off 35th.
Ok.....I need to get over there and get some of that scenery with the Solo!
what filter ?
+Mayoo N several. I have a couple packages in FCPX.
steady is a word i wouldnt use to explain this gimbals performance. more like shaky and seasick. thanks for sharing.
+187 DOCUMENTS Can definitely see horizon drift in this one. Shaky and seasick is an exaggeration I think! :) I'm sure 3DR will improve the performance over time with software updates
+Jayden Lawson Correct me if I'm wrong, but the gimbal 'levelness' is based on it's starting position and calibration at that point, right? If so, the horizon drift you are seeing could be from that being the first shot after takeoff, from a pretty uneven and rocky spot. There's nothing level at Mt. Bonnell.
187 docs is just trollin. He doesn't even have a legit account.
+Russell Hughes you're probably right about the initial calibration. The interesting thing in this one though is that if you drag the playhead so you're scrubbing through the video quite quickly - you can see the horizon drifting in an anti-clockwise direction, and then it snaps back, and then it goes again... a few times. If it was locked at the point of calibration - I would have thought it should not do that.
True about 187.
+Jayden Lawson Interesting. Now you got me wanting to try some tests.
+Russell Hughes can't wait to try mine out... seems as though Australia are pretty low on the fulfilment-importance list though!
