I grew up in Maretimo. Before the apartments were built, we used to play on the crater left behind after Maretimo House was demolished. We moved in 2001 as Blackrock just got too crowded .My mother took me to the protest against Frascati house being knocked down. Lovely to see it again 😀 Thank you.
Thank u so much my first job was in Blackrock and later in life when married our first home was there my husband worked in d Park later in his life and loved meeting people on their way 2 d train when he was only starting his day oh many happy memories. Thank again

Whats fascinating about Blackrock is how nearly 200 years ago the arrival of the railway transformed Blackrock and geographicaly as well
Yes, the railway resulted in easy access to central Dublin and the Blackrock became a favourite suburban town.
