      Very soon the world would have moved ahead
      Technologies would have been replaced
      And you will be late
      Also will be difficult for you to find another job with those old skills.
      So better to put extra efforts/hrs and learn something- better to do mini projects on new tech rather than just reading
      All this while enjoying your life side by side

      @@vaibhavvalandikar3913that's fine man, everybody don't need to be very active in tech. It would be good enough to stay within your skill set. There are lot of other work to do other than tech if you are outdated. There is so much of automation going on in this era. So it would be safe to learn something different than tech.

      Same here buddy. It may sound like an excuse, but I never got to work on challenging projects. Switched 2 jobs by exaggerating my skills, still the quality of projects that I worked on was dismal. So now I have started to invest time in the stock markets as switching a job and then surviving it might not be a good idea now after 9 years of experience. "Keep trying and keep challenging yourself" is quite overrated. You have to assess what suits you best at a particular time and take actions accordingly rather than continuing to push a wall aimlessly thinking that it will inch forward one day with your applied force.

    Being in comfort zone is all it takes to become stagnant. Everyone by default likes to be in their comfort zone. Its not something that one can change overnight but it should start at a small mindset level. One solution is to try travel to different locations and meet people who are culturally totally different than yourself.

    Why one should depend on the company to give new or challenging work? If you are in same company for longer duration then you are aware of the projects and a kind of work you have to perform, there is a lots of time left in your hand. Being in comfort zone is wasting that time in unproductive things like social media, office parties etc. instead of that collaborate with the people having same interest and work on any innovative ideas. Contribute in open source project, write research papers, white papers or try out other professional things of your interest like photography, music etc. This can’t be possible if you engage in the company task assigned to you. Instead of company giving you something let the company recognise and consider you for bigger role

    If you really want to grow, the only way for you is to change jobs if you aren't getting promotions and your promotions are not at all dependent on if you're a hard worker or not in most cases. In most cases, it has to do with your relationship with the authority who has the power to give you promotion whoever it is. The biggest lie in the world is work hard and you'll get it. By that logic, if you work harder than a billionaire, you'll outpace him. So some guys are going to say working smart and hard can do it. Nope. There are more important metrics for that.

    Its right if you like to continue as a worker forever in your life. When you work for someone, you should create something parelle, be it a business or a return generating insvestment sothat you do not need to work for someone always. You will reach to a point where you are financilly free ancan do your passion. If you keep on thinking and and working only for promossions, salry hikes and career achievements etc and not thinking about your independence(financillay and time) in life,you will remain in working class foreve.Just my opinion.

    I won't say am lazy, but I would say that I'm more uncomfortable with continuous learning, I would love to learn something in IT which remains same for years (I mean the scalability, if I learn something today it should be atleast useful and sameway for atleast next 5/7 years, if not then what's the point of learning such short lived tech?) Can you suggest me such kind of role in IT? Am also okay to look beyond IT and go towards Management.

    • @darshankm1897
      @darshankm1897 10 месяцев назад +1

      There is no job in IT that has fixed skillset , IT always requires upskilling that's why people can able to do that upto certain age . So learn and earn as much high you can and retire at early age with good amount of money invested for your next future after retirement.

    • @H4XOR23
      @H4XOR23 10 месяцев назад

      @@darshankm1897 what's the point of such technology? Which itself isn't stable at first place? You need to update/renew/upgrade something when there is a shortcoming and if there is a shortcoming that particular thing isn't stable... I'll always go for scalability, because learning and stuff is good to say here on internet but in reality you'll become mad when you have to upgrade that technical knowledge every now and then....
      Also I believe that this trend of learning new stuff again and again will go away with rise of AI....jobs will become more and more simplified. With less people on technical side and more and management side.

    Yes, very true. I have worked in same company, same account for long and did see lack of learning and growth. Then one fine day was rolled-off, now I am lost as I have not worked with any other client for so long, so I am afraid of starting all over again.

    I slightly disagree with your views. Taking challenges and exploring new skills on long run makes you jack of all.... Instead developing a skill and consistent improvisation to become master is essential. It adds value to your life and peace of mind, satisfaction...best example..MasterChef Jiro from Japan. He made only Sushi throughout his life but he reached to the perfection..

    Hard work is nothing gain and everyone use you and throw. Smart work is better. Mostly what u want, is that u like most or its time sake, dont follow to live like others. Maintain ur true expectations goal and make hard work and smart work combined. The target should be nice and harmless to you and others is the main thing. Dont be so truthful to all. Not all of them like you remembet it. Karma is boomerang but it only works exact for clean hearted person. Karma is slowly workout for worst prople done a lot of bad things it seems irritate and angry to your self why this karma works diffrent for others.. dont worry and dont ovethink. Go with the flow with caution. Make a simple life. Live a simple life. Thats it. Nothing we taken together after death. If possible plant more trees.

    10 to 15 years🙄, 3 years is reasonably stay in any IT company. If you move, there are 2 benefits. One thing is you can stand up to date on the new technology or new processes in the current market. Second thing is financial benefit. you will get better HIKE, compare to staying in the same company for longer years.🤭

    Recently in an interview a person asked a question about integrity, according to adhering to the promise of staying in one company for a long period means integrity. My question to him is what about integrity at the end of the organisation, person performs well get good bonus and after few year restructuring is announced by new ceo, he is laid off... Why this double standards?

    • @CareerTalk
      @CareerTalk  10 месяцев назад +3

      I think he got it wrong. Staying in the same company for many years is NOT integrity. It is just serving for long term. Integrity is all together a different thing.
