I completely understand your hesitation regarding An Ember in the Ashes. When I read the first book, I wasn't sure about it either, but. I picked them up again this year, and am currently on book 4 and scared to finish because this series goes FAST and a lottttt happens (especially stuff that hits in the feels, it's brutal). I found that the fast-pacing really helped with my enjoyment of the series, as I think that it is definitely more focused on each character than on the plot (though the plot do be plotting hard....). Great spreads!✨ It's great to see them get filled out, and the different themes for each month are so fun! Doing a spread for each book read is so much work, I haven't been able to commit to it either. For next year, I think I will keep what I'm doing now (just noting the title, series, author, format and dates) and only make actual spreads for the books I really liked🤗 Very excited what you will come up with for next year!🌟

Only making a full spread for the five star reads might be the way to go for me too!!! And I’m so glad you get what I’m saying about An Ember in the Ashes. From your description it seems like there is a lot of character development ahead which I think would solve a lot of my issues with that first book. Sounds like it’s worth giving it another go…!

Your spreads are super cute. I especially like the September one. I do keep a reading journal. I use a B6 size so it is pretty small. This year I have done two books per page, but next year I plan to do one book per page so I have a little more room to decorate.I look forward to seeing your set up for next year.

Thank you! The monthly spreads are always my fave. I also love decorating for every book, it’s just soo time consuming and you’re right, needs lots of page space 😆

I began a reading journal last year (very basic)… bit more serious this year. But I’ve not done the individual book reviews… I so enjoy seeing everyone else’s but as you say it is time consuming and I’d rather be reading! I was surprised to see how few audiobooks in your stats… I thought you both were into them too. I listen to my audiobook each day to and from work… so about 30 mins a day.
One of my reading challenges was to read one more book than listen to… it certainly helps me when I slumped… that and the other challenge… complete a reading journal 😃

Audiobooks have taken a hit the past 6 months for sure. I think because we have focused so heavily on our physical tbrs. We both often switch back and forth between physical and audio of a book too. But you’re so right they are great for getting out of a slump, which is partly why we did the audiobook video recently and are trying to prioritize them again now!! Def doing the Hercule Poirot books now that it’s Christmas time 😂

@ highly recommend Lord Edgeware Dies, and ABC murders… but really must find narration by Hugh Fraser to sink into the 1920/30’s in all their glory
