Congrats on your 500th Grant and what a great, deep episode...so awesome! You bring true class to the hunting industry. I am a team of two and Lord willing we will hit 500 sometime next Spring. I know what it takes...amazing what hard work can accomplish! Hope to see you hitting 1000 some day 🙂
10 years of sharing our videos on hunting and habitat management! This is Episode #500. Which of our videos is your favorite? Or what buck or hunt do you remember best? Let us know here in the comments. Thanks for watching!
I think this video is now my favorite. Thanks for taking us along on your journey Keep the great informative videos coming. Living in Louisiana, the Growing Deer Team has taught me so much about how to hunt family land in Crawford & Dent county Mo.
I have been a new subscriber for a year, thanks to my physical therapist, John. My knowledge concerning methods and practices has grown exponentially. This directly increased the satisfaction I get from being able to provide our hunting club (soon to be coop) with ideas as to how to make our hints better. As well as executing strategies to improve our land. As always, thanks Dr. Grant. And, yes, I rewatch these episodes to glean every bit of knowledge I can.
Love every single episode, especially this one. We all hope Growing deer tv remains a part of our lives for a long time. Thank you again for your time, effort, and educational page to enrich the quality hunters and land manager’s minds for the future.
To Grant and the Growing Deer Team, I am about to deploy but will return next spring. My goal is to hopefully be back in time for the 2020 Spring Field Days. Thank you for staying strong in keep Jesus in every episode. That is key to blessing others and being blessed.
I have watched every episode since I've bought my house with a small 8 acre lot in 2015..But with all of your knowledge you have given me I have changed the closed canopy forest, into a thriving deer habitat.. my food plots always produce every year great forage for all types of wild life.. I've noticed bigger and longer antlers on the bucks in my area.. I used to only see 2 yo bucks that wasn't even 100 inches..now I have 150 class bucks or bigger hopefully this year... I'm in piedmont part of north Carolina most deer don't live 3 years..from the cars, and hunters not letting young bucks walk.. but good food, good water, good shelter, with good security..= great hunting.. thanks for all you do.. and putting our Lord and savior Jesus Christ in your videos is the best of all..
Well, after watching this video you guys have me thinking about my dad. So my favorite video/videos are any that had Pops in them! Fortunately, the Lord has a plan and our family members are not lost to us, just separated for a season! Can't wait for deer season again this year with my kids! Keep up the great work and encouragement for us all!
To say you are an inspiration would be an understatement! I too suffered loss in both parents and a brother in less than 7 months! My greatest regret was not taking my Dad to my farm. I always loved seeing Pop's in videos and your daughters as well. You are blessed. Thanks for all of the information weekly and especially love the message about our creator who none of us could do what we do without his direction! Can't wait to see 500 more! My best to the entire Growing Deer Family! Need to come up to a field day one of these times!
Thank you for your service to the hunting and humanity community. You are by far the classiest group that does what you do. I can’t wait for episode 1000
It is so incredibly cool that the top two whitetail habitat minds in the world are both in these comments showing respect for one another. I watch Jeff sturgis and grant woods videos as fast as they can post em, because grant’s proving grounds property is just like our north central Pennsylvania Rocky Mountain land! And I love the idea of creating soil health by rotating buckwheat and fall crops, with zero discing.
Mane I cant be crying watching a hunting video. There's no crying in hunting! No big ups and thanks to the growing Deer TV team. Thanks for the great ride. You guys have set a great standard in this industry. Thanks to the almighty God and thanks to you Growing Deer T.V. ........ let's get another 500 episodes!!!👍👍👍👍😀😀😀🔥
God bless you and your family! I love every episode but some of my favorites are you hunting with pops! It reminds me of all the great hunting trips with my dad and I hope I am still hunting with my dad for alot more years to come!
Congrats! Can't wait to see the next 500. This is one of the most educational and down to earth shows out there. You don't push your sponsors on people like we are dumb and the only reason you got that deer was because you shot a certain bow or planted a certain brand of seeds. You do it the right way...congrats again!
Grant, my favorite hunting video from your episodes was the harvest of split G2. He was a stealthy old warrior. I really enjoyed this 500’th episode sir. From your daughters first deer, to seeing pops successful harvests with his boy, I have zero doubts that pops is so proud of how much of an incredible man you have become. Hats off to the editor of number 500 and thanks for sharing.
Grant, thank you and the Growing Deer team for your honesty and sharing via this channel. I've learned so much from following your show. I feel genuinely invested into your property and the life of your family and team. God bless, keep up the good work.
Absolutely magnificent channel. No channel that offers this much information AND hunting video fun. Harvesting, how to grow, how to maintain. My wife can even tell what night it is by how excited I get..." Dr Wood has a fresh video out!!!!" Lol. So glad you are producing this content. Keep it up!
This is like a short dissertation of your field work, your property is your laboratory. The MDOC should take notes. You are a true legend in the field of wildlife biology. You have been a personal inspiration to me dating back to my college days when i interned for IDNR. Keep up the study and hope to see another 500 episodes.
Congratulations on 500 episodes Grant! I haven't missed 1 of them and look forward every week to watching a new episode. You have taught me so much over those 500 videos! Thank you for all the effort and time you put into growingdeertv!
This was one of the best management videos I have ever seen. Very informative. Super cool watching the proving grounds improve with time and the right manager.
I've followed your team on their journey for several years now. Thank you so much for what you do. My small acreage is thriving thanks to the many management lessons I've picked up here.
Beautiful. I love watching your videos and have learned a lot about hunting from you, but this is my favorite one so far. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your heart!
Really like your channel. You've inspired me to work towards a goal of creating my own hunting and conservation habitat. My wife and I recently purchased a new house with 227 acres of bush property. Now the dream begins in July. Thank you for all the inspiration.
Really enjoy the channel! Thanks for all the hard work, research, and information. All of the team members are great, but I really enjoy watching Grant's bowhunts. He's a regular Robin Hood!
Dr. Woods I also lost my father in Jan of 2018 which was my hunting buddy. This show helps me in both ways my hunting and management skills but you remind me of my old man thinking Jesus for all we have to enjoy I am a huge fan and I want to thank you for helping me though this hard time. I look forward to show every week. Thanks and God Bless you and your family.

This is by far the best hunting channel I watch! I’ve been watching for a while and finally picked up a lease where I can put the things I’ve learned from this channel to use! I’ve been scouting the new lease and found the limiting factor (white oaks) and have located 3 mature trees in a group and they are the only ones around for a good ways. I’m also working on hanging stands that I can get in and out of without spooking deer, and putting in food plots that I’m going to use the buffalo system on to get some healthy top soil. I’ve learned a lot from this channel and it’s awesome to see y’all hitting this milestone with over 100k subscribers! I’ll keep y’all updated on my progress throughout the year and especially into deer season! God Bless!
Congrats Grant ,and family and staff - on all your wonderful accomplishments ..thanks for sharing with us all god bless you all happy 4th of July. Love your videos you are truly a inspiration.to us and ..blessed ..amen

I love the shows! - Thanks for all the information - I think I would try mounting the rolling crimper on the loader and get planting and crimping done in one pass!
No question for me it would be the tribute to pops episode. My dad is the reason I love hunting, as I'm sure is the case with lots of guys. So that episode was special to me.
Thank you Doc for all you do for the industry. Some friends and I have a 5k acre lease in Sonora, TX. ...and although we've learned plenty watching your channel we have talked about what it would cost us to have you visit if/when in the area?

Hey grant sorry for you loss but who remembers when pops shot the wrong buck
That was a very fun hunt! Pops enjoyed hunting - not just antlers and that day taught me a lot!
Grant, what’s your top three favorite bucks you have ever harvested
Jamie - HMM. I've enjoyed each of them! Split Brow was very enjoyable as that rascal avoided hunters for so long. It was a great feeling to have a plan work for that particular buck! My experience with Handy was just as exciting! Of course hunts with Pops and my kids were/are always very enjoyable! - grant
How many acres is the proving grounds?
about 1500 if i recall
Also, y'all literally can't complain. Given the fact that y'all live up north in the Midwest, y'all naturally have much bigger bodied deer with better genetics than the deer down south
Brian - It might surprise you that the buck tied for the heaviest body weight is from Georgia - 440 pounds! The quality of the habitat has a lot to do with a deer's body size. - grant
@@GrowingDeerTV Wow, that's crazy! Generally, deer's body sizes depends on their location and the climate they live in.
Up north, you will found much shorter and stouter white tails with more fat and fur (especially in the winter) to accommodate the cold climate
I bet it changed from a whitetail to an elephant by the time they reached the top... LOL!
Ha! Yes sir!
Grant I doubt you will get this but I was wondering if you could source me a pair of whitetail antlers above 150 I will pay u for shipping tonuk
Yea, you did this with time and money that 99% of us don't have...
