I'm not a huge #Godzilla fan, but seeing you so excited and having a good time watching these trailers for #GodzillaMinusOne, has me hyped for the movie
We 'Old School' G-fans that grew up on the classic 'Man in a Suit' Showa Godzilla movies told everyone for years about the GREATNESS of Godzilla... and we we're RIGHT!!
I’m Japanese and not old Godzilla fan at all. Just normal citizen who love watching movies. Went to the theater last weekend. I can tell it’s my best movie in last 5years . If you’re considering go or not to the theater, Just buy the ticket and watch it You won’t regret it
It maybe just me, but I think this is one of my top 5 favorite reactions of yours. ZSJL is still #1, but you can tell when someone is giving an authentic reaction and I can feel your excitement! Great show TBC
Late night fun with the #Battalion as we anxiously await #GodzillaMinusOne. So far everyone that I have watched who has seen it says it's a masterpiece!
I saw the movie yesterday. It isn't as heavy as the 1954 original or as complex and deep as Shin Godzilla. But it's perfect for the modern generation. Epic, dread inducing, badass, powerful with elements of horror and tragedy. This is a movie that is responsible to what Godzilla is while also having the right elements to ensure that it doesn't feel old fashioned. In other words, this one is a return to the roots while simultaneously setting up a dynamic with the quality and foundation to compete and even hold its own against the Legendary Godzilla. The special effects are somewhat inferior but not by a massive degree. It still would hold its own in an American theater as a high quality production. The acting and characters are superior. You actually care about them. Godzilla's breath is... jaw dropping and will honestly put the Legendary Godzilla in the dog house. In some ways, it's more terrifying than Shin Godzilla's breath. The sound design is the best of any Godzilla film to date, along with the music. Sato's music is reminiscent of Giorgy Ligeti's works with even a small infusion from Bernard Hermann. The music is atmospheric with some pieces being less music and more auditory reflections of emotions that inspire anxiety, dread, fear, and despair, reminding one of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho or 2001 A Space Odyssey. I will not say more on the soundtrack. I won't confirm or deny if there is elements of Ifukube's works. Suffice to though, the soundtrack is amazing.
I have just been to a theater to see it and loved it! It is very different from the hollywood interpretation of Godzilla movies and I am not sure if people outside of Japan like it or not? It is a very Japanese movie just as Sin Gozilla but in a different way. It respects very original Gozilla movie, also Sin Gozilla while it is a story of love, life, failure and overcoming out of it. I really enjoyed it.
Very interesting! I really appreciate your spoiler free comment! I definitely think it will be a film that hardcore Godzilla fans will love. But it will be interesting to see how the general audience receives the movie on December 1st
Godzilla Minus One is looking really good! Sadly, I think with the advances of CGI, it’s just easier for studios to do that rather than the classic guy in the suit destroying miniature city sets. Which is sad, but I’m glad Toho does something for GFest every year to honor the past like the Operation Jet Jaguar short film
I lost my sh*t when I saw the fins popping out like that,I genuinely did! But I think this is just a new way for the atomic breath to charge up,this movie is the closest thing we have to a remake of the 1954 Gojira, very classic, period piece like you said,so I don't see them adding explosive new abilities to the G-Man like Shin Godzilla did. And,although I adored this new way of charging up the atomic breath,I still prefer the Legendary one,you can't get much better than Godzilla's back slowly glowing up,him inhaling and then shooting the breath, all while the female MUTO is rightly so scared shitless. And even with the design, while MinusGoji beat DougheGoji (2019,2021),which was a considerable redesign,it didn't beat GareGoji (2014),at best, they're on the same level, because seeing more of it through Monarch is reminding me how much I love that design, the design that properly introduced me to the franchise
That’s awesome! Yeah, it’s probably just the atomic breath charge up! It’s a really cool concept and I can’t wait to see how it looks on the big screen.
We won a freaking Oscar !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hyped !!!!!!!!!!
SO SURREAL!!!! Did you ever think this would happen??? HYPED AF!
You are so right! No one has really ever utilized Godzilla as a sea monster like JAWS before and I'm loving it. Hell, I WANT MORE OF IT!
*so we gonna act like shin Godzilla didn’t exist ?*
Shin Godzilla took place almost completely on land. @@DuragJones

I love that Godzilla is literally toying with the men on the boat. Like a predator playing with his food! #Godzilla Vs JAWS
