Don’t judge the owners. Mine got like this when I had a stroke and was in the hospital two months. My teens and kids tried but they had their stuff and would go see me in hospital every day. Don’t ever say anything bad, you don’t know what anyone is going through. Even the experts on RUclips don’t show you everything. I know they’re not super human and spend 24/7 cleaning. But we all do the best we can.

I find that it's easier to keep clean if you get rid of unneccesary things and keep it minimal, buy things that are easy to clean and not easily broken, make notes of what to do, separate outdoor and indoor shoes, give responsibilities to everyone in house, clean the little things immediately, make it a habit to put everything in its place after use. That and of course time management, although this only help so far if you have the capability and time to.

When I do something my brain doesn't let me, I start feeling stress and I feel like my time is running out and I take hours to do simple task and I start to cry and I just can't finish what I start. When I am not depressed or stressed my brain bypasses all of that and I can clean so fast and I don't feel overwhelmed at all. In any case, if someone was washing your dishes, for free, to help you out when times are tough for you, you probably wouldn't be critical of the order.

The worst, however, in the context of cluttered houses, is they think they need to understand to have empathy and compassion ... they don't.
I often see comments from those who could use help and wish I knew if anyone lived near me because I'd love to help.
I understand. I have a few conditiins, physical and mental. The truth is, each human has something, whether they tell anyone or not.
I've heard this man suggest just do 3 ft, or a desk top, at a time. I've heard suggestions of setting a timer which wouldn't work for me as I'd be anxious about the timer going off.

I lost my job at the same time, which turned out to be a blessing, because he has needed my help for everything. I am willing to bet this family is simply overwhelmed. It may sound harsh but a 40-50% reduction of objects in the home can make such a difference.
I just helped someone cut thier pans, cups and bowls back. The question we used was simply, "how many does a family of ____ really use in a day". The mother still kept about 5 cups per person (including waterbottles and mugs), about 2 bowls per person, and half her pans. When we were finished, the family could return clean dishes to thier proper place, without moving other dishes, shoving things in random places or hunting for room.
