Fascinating how Joe Power was not recognised as one of the major factors in finding Lindsay's body. He was tenacious enough to keep searching, yet without him, the police may have been left with another cold case and Mitchell would be walking free.
Doesn’t surprise me in the least. Many departments will not give credit to psychics because too many in society are skeptics. There’s enough negativity towards law enforcement and they try no to get more. Disappointing and aggravating are beyond my feelings towards these departments.

This guy is most likely a fraud. The video below is one where his so called pshyic abilities are exposed as questionable. If you watch other vids with actual psychics, who have worked with police, there are pretty detailed, you can tell the difference. The cops didn't believe him because he couldn't give detailed information that were true. Watch and you will definitely see what I am saying.

I knew Mitchell was guilty right away. Hubby's story that this woman came home drunk at 7 am on Christmas morning, took a nap, never acknowledged her kids, then woke up, packed a bag and LEFT, never to be seen again, sounded nuts from the jump. Unless this woman had a documented history of struggles with alcohol and maybe had her children taken away from her before (by Mitchell, family or legal entities), and even in that case its still not really believable. That's a very drastic action for a woman who has multiple children at home to take, on Christmas, a holiday she knew would be important to her children, and her just up and leaving like that when she could pick any other day if it was simply up to her decision when to cut and run- why not speak to her children? Why not even say goodbye & hug them if you knew you might never see them again? More to remember to keep his story straight for Mitchell of course. Easier to remove them from the story he told altogether. So irritating that it is always the spouse, *stop killing your spouses!!!* I hated my ex husband and wished I could wish he'd be hit by a bus but I didn't off him for chrissake. I got a legal divorce and tried to do it as cheaply as possible, with as little disruption and trauma to my young son's life as possible. I managed it, why can't these other people?
Its so sad. She was so young. Only 21 and already married with at least two children, to a man who was physically abusive to her. She had tried to get away but every time in the past had taken him back, apparently. She'd had no time to live at all. And his family *HELPED HIM,* I am so disgusted. I feel sorriest for their children and I genuinely hope that their mother's family had the finances and willingness to raise them - their mother deceased, their father in jail & their uncle partially responsible for the circumstances around the disposal of her body. Just awful.
I know right, the mind boggles. Though still not an easy thing to do but why don't these ppl just leave or get a divorce? But then again they are obviously very mentally disturbed, or the other party is trauma bonded or they are financially dependent. It is a vicious, vicious, evil, horrible thing. There was a family (of 5 I think from memory) who were murdered by their father (and he then killed himself) in Australia a few years ago and the media at the time were reporting from neighbours and others "oh but he was such a nice man", "he was a wonderfull father", "he would do anything for anyone, he just appeared a bit down sometimes". It was always wo is me. But no one was saying...oh hell noooo. He murdered his entire family because he was so full of himself and was depressed (no offence to those who are) that he fully believed that his family would "not be able to cope without him" that out of the "kindness of his heart" he killed them to "save them the agony". Absolutely and utterly appalling and BS. No, he was NOT a nice guy and an awesome father. He was deranged, disturbed and evil. No doubt he needed serious, serious help! But I don't think the psych industry and science actually knows how to "help" these ppl. My experience with evil people is that they cannot be saved. They have gaslighted themselves and can justify anything, not to mention no empathy.

Mitchell was violent and coercive but she kept going back to him. Her family knew this. She then had a child with him. Then the day she sent to file for divorce he killed her. Plenty of red flags. Plus why didn't SoC officers not check the bath properly?
The movie Evelyn was based on a Irish mother who abandoned her husband and children on St Stephens day. ( Boxing day in North America)
Killers and garbage people always have to make up something outlandish, like they would do, to make their victims look bad. To me it's one of the first signs of guilt.

I cannot fathom how her now adult children would feel and process knowing that their own father had killed their mother and then as they slept in their beds in their room, their father and uncle were dismembering their mother in the bath. No words can describe how they must think about that now. What agony and disbelief. Evil. I hope they are now well, happy and strong.
I watched a true crime story on this and this “husband” was such a huge POS, there was a history of abuse and everyone knew what a shitbag he was. Why the police just automatically believed everything he said is wild to me

Everytime I watch a true crime story that involves DV, I'm reminded how lucky I was that I got out safely and the cops helped me as much as they did. It was hard, so hard, without financial assistance, having 4 sons 3 and under, but I did it because I didn't want my sons to continue the cycle.

Yes DV of all kinds is more often than not minimised until too late. Not good enough society! I have no confidence in either the psych system/ justice system, or humans in general really. I was choked almost to strangulation by my mentally disabled sibling when I was a kid. I fought back and got away but my parents did not help me, nor support me, in fact they thought I had made it up, they never wanted to talk about it, and basically they forced me to put up with being controlled and a door mat by everyone in my family under the guise of "mental health" or whatever their version of "love" was (though it wasn't love it was control and abuse). Even the psychiatrists I went to years later minimised my experiences and made me feel stupid and like I was too sensitive. It is appalling. So I have no choice but to "treat" myself though I am not able to work due to CPTSD. I am happy that Lindsey's abuser and murderer was caught. Thank-you Joe Power for not giving up. There are so many of these unsolved cases out there that need people like you who can communicate with spirit to help bring closure. Though you were never acknowledged (except by the most important person though, Lindsey), I see you and acknowledge your efforts. Lots of people do.

I remember this case. No mention psychic, but a lot of footage of her husband. Such an absolute creep, the way he trashed her character, the arrogance, thinking he'd never get caught. Those kiddies have at least a decent chance in life with her parents.

There were a lot of red flags in this for me, but the biggest has to be what kind of dullard in the Police force, ever seriously considered she was actually a missing person ? What mother, who by all accounts loved her children, would leave them on Christmas Eve after a night out boozing with "friends" that were never verified ? If the detectives had put full faith in this premise, focused on the husband's history of violence
in the home toward his wife, if they had done the basic 'scrutiny of the 48 hrs prior to her disappearance' from the start in all earnestness, if the detectives would have pressed
the husband to take a 'lie detector test' from the start- - to eliminate him- - they could have had their murderer. (The husband's refusal to take one is his right, but certainly another big red flag and the tide of public opinion would have turned).
To be sure, the police finally did bring all manner of means to find this young woman's dismembered corpse, but imagine if they'd simply used 'cadaver dogs' & followed the clues from this 'sensitive,' Mr. Powers!
Still, legally It's good that the confession was finessed from the husband 1st, though, & then, before all, have the murderer lead officers to the remains himself.
No matter what could have been done differently, it worked out, when all is said & done, for the best.

I highly doubt it. The program mentioned there had been an argument over a cheque that had gone missing right before Christmas but Mitchell was beating Lynsey up BEFORE that happened. Chrissake.

You are aware that Lynsey's body was found where the psychic said it was ..and that the husband later confessed to murder with his brother's assistance in dismembering and hiding the body parts? Surely you aren't suggesting that Joe killed the person in question? And not sure how him going to the police with his information was predatory. If he wanted press why not just go to the newspapers of the time? Or the local tv station? Just saying, if he wanted publicity Joe could have gotten it a lot quicker that way.
