    This is so cool. You are the man. Acetone does cut the varnish when heated. Just a thought.

    Looking at the newer radios, they use smaller ones...... Wow If you have old color TV's laying around the color delay line uses that wire.
    The long ceramic bar mounted on the board. Nice work, take care.

    I see many of these at hamfests, but do not want to take a chance that they may have problems.

      Hi Jim, There is an abundant supply of these older rigs at hamfests. Many of these are in need of some TLC. If you don't feel comfortable working on them, you might want to buy a used rig from a local ham that can demonstrate the unit for you. A lot of " works great" radios at hamfests seem to develop problems on the trip home.

    any one wanna help.. MY KENWOOD TS830'S BLOWING FUSES,, AND NO AUDIO,, just got the kenwood ts830s,,, blew 2 fuses,, and all i did was tun it on and and scurl trhough the ham band with no audio... any ideais ion what may be blowing fuses or wy i have no audio?
