    In 2021, Zaila made history by becoming the first African American to win the Scripps National Spelling Bee. But that's just the tip of the iceberg
    when it comes to her amazing journey.
    Zaila is also a basketball prodigy. She's a Guinness World Record holder for her skills, including the most basketballs dribbled simultaneously and the most
    bounce juggles in one minute. Her dedication to the sport is nothing short of inspiring.
    Born in Harvey, Louisiana, Zaila’s journey started at a young age. Her parents recognized her potential early on, and she began honing her diverse set of
    skills. From academics to athletics, Zaila's curiosity and hard work set her apart.

      Black American/fba not African American

    • @beulahisrael5773
      @beulahisrael5773 24 дня назад +27

      I’ve heard nothing but confusion in the comments. I thought the girl was not FBA based on her name. “African American” is a loaded identifier and Black American is being used by Nigerians? Both are being thrown around by people who don’t descend from the heritage of the American slave /or FBA culture. Again, I don’t think she’s FBA based on her name. Also, how is a spelling B a high ranking measure of intelligence? I’m so tired of us having to prove our intelligence based on the dominant society. FBA had slaves inventing machines and things the world uses today and they couldn’t spell their own name or the state they lived in if it meant freedom. We have to think about using other peoples’s measuring sticks or getting drunk off other peoples’s wine. Now, congrats to her if this boosts her belief in herself. 🎉
