One of the great bands of Japan, seldom making the algorhythms. They are totally independent with their own label; rumours are that they are preparing Album 9. It is always good to see one of the rare reactions, rather than to bands who get 100x what 88KASYO Junrei get

They're cool. Video reminded me of the 90s with its random weird imagery. I first heard of this band in one of Vladimir Chupin's unboxing videos, of all places.

This band is a hidden gem. My favorite song of theirs is 攻撃的国民的音楽 It's definitely worth checking out.

No way. First time I heard them was then years ago. Pretty sure Margaret would be a preteen in the 90s.
This band is pretty cool, very weird and original, for me they're like the japanese version of Primus. They have a lot of groove and funky rhythms into their music. Hope you check out more of them.

Hey Wave, it's about time for some 88Kasyo Junrei, one of my favs from Japan. There's nothing like them. Psychedelic funk punk with a heavy dose of pure art. Take the rabbit hole. You'd be rewarded with strangely addictive stuff. 🤘
Both bassist and vocalist Margaret Hiroi (male) and band maid MISA are alcoholic, but he seems to be at a level where his female fans worry about drinking too much.
DEVO, GIRL U WANT, 1980 if you want reference to their look, minimalist style and droning singing. Too bad nobody cares to translate the lyrics.
You just discovered this band when they have been making alternative music in Japan for many years...XD

So glad you caught up with this great song by “88 Pilgrimages,” (and the chillest drummer since Charlie Watts). I always appreciate your insights to the music. BTW, what you saw in the beginning was an “uchiwa” fan with the band’s name on it, followed by a hand with the song’s name written in Sharpie on the palm.

八十八ヶ所巡礼やホルモンは若干時期異なりますが、日本音楽のmainstreamであったので、この手の創造的音楽を聴かないのはもったいない、もちろん色々と他国の影響はありますが、誤解を招くかもです。
