I don’t know if you’ll see this, but this is the best snaring video I’ve seen so far, from a common sense POV . Great set up. Trying to see the loop lock set up, thinking it was a restraint spring perhaps ..? Thanks again from loUiSiAna!

The snare is a 1/19 5/64 cable. Bridger cam lock with a conibear style kill spring with a 285 break away device.
Glad you enjoyed the video! God Bless

I like the way you blended in the snare, especially with the stick wrapped up in the support wire. But I have to say I dont have any faith in your anchoring system. Its a clever design, but for me to have faith in it I would have to drive it in deeper, and I would give it a good tug to make sure it was anchored solid.

The anchor system I am using is the same system thousands of trappers are using to keep foot holds anchored to the ground all a across the country. In our soil 10 to 12 inches will hold a 4x4 truck in place. All soils are different. In your soil 10 inches may be to little?
Keep in mind most trappers have to use a beakaway device in snaring the weakest link is normally the break away device. No matter ehat anchor system is used.
If you compared 2 pieces of #9 wire twisted together compared to the snare cable, or any other part of the snare you will see that the snare is always the weakest link. The twisted wire is also stronger then the 3/32 cable that most anchors are made out of.

Some soil is better than others. The BAD will go before it comes out of the ground

How important is use of killer springs when using the Ultimate Support Snare System? Also, I only have 3/32 cable on snares, is 3/32 adequate for snaring coyotes or is 1/8" preferred?

Trent Meyer 3/32 is great for coyotes. I live in Nebraska and only use 3/32 and catch a lot of coyotes. Good luck👍🏾

Unless your using cable restraints 3/32" cable just isn't necesary for coyotes. I use 1/16 or 5/64 1×19 cable and have killed more than 1 truck load of coyotes.

try compressing the stinger spring and adding a lock for quicker take down

Depends on your laws. Killing wise the smaller
      The cable
The better. But to small you have chew outs

You could have rapped your snare support wire around a shrub, that would rid the need for the extras and camo, and you can anchor further away if need be.

The stake seems like it’s not in the ground very deep? I know that most of the trap disposable stakes I use have to be in the ground at least 12” underground or they’ll usually pull up and come out

KY Trapping Outdoors I would agree in most soils. Prairie of Sd is hard as a rock. Frost was coming out of the ground when this was set. That is why it was so easy to drive! Thanks for pointing it out Incase a new trapper thought that was all u needed.

Dustin Drews oh okay I didn’t know that but yeah around here they’d run off unless you go into some tacky red clay that will lock down anything lol Cool device you made too. Maybe you can add an earth anchor on the bottom to latch on that will dangle off the bottom and drive in all the way until you stick the stand in the ground in the end and you’d be set. Just my opinion but still real handy.

Oh fuck that just use small clear vinyl tubing cut into 1/4 inch pieces for the cheapest and best whammy money can buy! I only use Amberg locks 5/64 cable on all predators! Even killed a big Tom mountain lion in one!
