Kendrick fans, please act like yall have comprehension skills. While there are still eyebrow raising bars in this 🤨, Drake never claims to have fed Kendrick info on pedophilia, just the info on his daughter, yet half these comments are asking why he would paint himself a pedo 🤦🏾♂️. That’s all coming from Kendrick but it’s very possible that Kendrick could have been finessed on that 1 thing if he’s trusting info from another camp. Yall might have to take that one on the chin…
Drake fans, yall need to chill. Kendrick is killing Drake. Go back and listen to the last 2 again. Take out the daughter and pedo stuff. There a BUNCH of other allegations on “Meet the Grahams” that are not addressed, and “Not Like Us” has a bunch of facts that have receipts online if yall willing to do the research.
Right now it’s “He said , She said”but minus the kid, there’s some validity to Kendrick’s bars and Drake has done some… weird stuff in the past. Kendrick is Bodying Drake. Currently.
I'll break this down pretty simply as someone who just loves hip hop and isn't picking a side prematurely (that being said there are a LOT more Drake stans overlooking shit then Kendrick fans, not that they haven't missed anything there's just a lot of disproportion). Kendrick is not taking pedophile info from entirely inside camp, there is some weird stuff Drake has done in the past MANY times (texting young actresses/models, grooming women etc) that would be considered pretty gross for an average person to get away with. The reason that he would be able to is BECAUSE he's so big and has so much money. This in itself kind of makes the whole "i'm to famous to be a pedo line" redundant and ignorant at that.
Going forward to where he talks about the DV on Kendricks ex that's also not anything Kendrick reeeeeally has to show receipts on, as he talked in length about it in Mr. Morale. It isn't news really, nor an allegation as Kendrick himself has already talked about it. He even mentioned how they aren't really together anymore and they live separate lives.
Moving forward again where Drake is talking about Kendrick getting molested (?). That's a weird one. Dude and his writers obviously didn't listen to the song, or didn't understand it. Kendrick talked about how his mother BELIEVED he was molested, but since he was a child with no father figure around at the time and this happens to so many children she thought he was lying. It was speaking on how there's a larger problem within society, black communities with absent father figures and children with a lack of protection being taken advantage of.
Going further into the song where Drake brings his ex back into the frame talking about allegations not being confirmed or denied, that's a mute point. Kendricks ex is not a celebrity and maybe doesn't want to be involved. I wouldn't expect any of Drakes family (Adonis/Sandra/Dennis) to step forward and say anything either. They're not artists/public figures and are not a part of this beef. Given the level that this has been taken to, I don't expect they would want to either.
And now I would like to look at my favorite part of this beef so far, the so called "secret second child". This could be complete bullshit, there's no way to know. And maybe Drakes team DID feed Kendrick the info, but even if they did that's not necessarily a win. Kendrick from the start of these diss tracks has repeatedly called Drake a "master manipulator", and not in a positive way from the sounds of his tone. So, there are two options here. Either Drake is lying about having another secret child, which would make him look dumb as hell if it gets found out after the whole Story of Adidon catastrophe OR he fed the info to Kendrick. If that is the case, what would that make him? A master manipulator, the man who plays victim etc etc. That would also prove that Kendrick is WAY ahead of the curve possibly even KNOWING Drake and his team would try to pull something like this. Really, honestly that random phrase has so much more meaning when you look at it in that sense. Because there's no other context to it. It's just been some 'random' name he's been calling Drake in each track but now there may be some weight to it.
At the end of the day, yes no one has shown receipts. And at the end of the day, no one has to. It's a rap beef. However I will point out that Drake has already been caught lying multiple times during this whole situation (the 17 year old on stage and the weird comments he made/Metro showing receipts that Drakes legal team did in fact try to get a cease and desist on Like That in spite of Drake clearly saying on Family Matters that it didn't happen). This coupled with the side stepping of other proven allegations like Baka being a fucking rapist and accused of sex trafficking while STILL being on OVO's payroll is not doing Drake any favors. Kendrick on the other hand has openly stated "i'll show you mine if you show me yours" implying he has nothing to hide. He has also said before (outside of the beef) that he just lives in an unproblematic lifestyle because he doesn't care for the alternative.
The whole situation has been a lot of fun and I've gotten to watch two of the biggest/best rap artists in the game right now duke it out blow for blow. It's been incredible. Push Ups was amazing, and even though I didn't love the use of AI to make Snoop and Pac feature on his song the writing construction and the concept was just great! Family Matters once again stood strong and ensured that Kendrick would have to double down (which at the end of the day he did) giving some great bars and some shots at other rappers that were involved in the beef at one point or another as well.
Unfortunately for me, this diss fell pretty flat. Given that Drake has been backed into a bit of a corner it doesn't seem like he had another option then to take this angle but there were a couple lines he should've just left out. The first, where Drake says "I don't even want to diss you anymore" and the second, where he says "good to exercise the pen again" or something to that likeness. I don't really think I need to explain too much about those and why they're just downright silly willy banana fanna fo filly.
Finally, Drake basically for no reason (look at the third paragraph) saying Kendrick was molested and said THAT'S why he's so upset/obsessed with the pedophile stuff, is not a great take. Even if Kendrick wasn't molested, the idea of "you're a victim of being kiddie diddled and I do really suspicious shit with young girls lmao get over it" is not a great take across the board.
I didn't and won't pick a side on who won before this beef is over but anyone ACTUALLY listening knows that Kendrick is up as of right now, and this diss did not really help Drakes position whatsoever.
Hopefully he drops another track soon and can double down or maybe pull some receipts to show he isn't lying about anything and that he's not a pedophile/sex trafficker because the whole "nuh uh" angle is not really doing it lol.
