This video is Lesson 2 of Day 2 in the introductory course to Wicca. This set of video lessons will guide you through the fundamentals of Wicca in theory and practice.
🧙‍♀️🧙 These 13 principles were established in the spring of 1974 and confirmed by 73 witches of different traditions in a gathering called the American Council of Witches, led by chairman Carl Weschke.
It should be noted that these principles are not necessarily shared by all Wiccans, however, they are accepted by the vast majority. This 5-minute video explains the basic principles in which Wicca and other pagan religions today are based.
If you ever wondered what are the core beliefs of witchcraft or what does a Witch believe, these 13 rules of Witchcraft will give you an idea. While there are no "commandments" in Wicca, these are traditional witchcraft rules that are followed by most Wiccans.

    Transcription of the video:
The 13 Principles of Wiccan Belief 📜
    1. We practice rites to attune ourselves with the natural rhythm of life forces marked by the phases of the Moon and seasonal Quarters and Cross Quarters.
    2. We recognize that our intelligence gives us a unique responsibility toward our environment. We seek to live in harmony with nature in ecological balance offering fulfillment to life and consciousness within an evolutionary concept.
    3. We acknowledge a depth of power far greater than that apparent to the average person. Because it is far greater than ordinary it is sometimes called ‘supernatural’, but we see it as lying within that which is naturally potential to all.
    4. We conceive of the Creative Power in the universe as manifesting through polarity - as masculine and feminine - and that this same Creative Power lies in all people and functions through the interaction of the masculine and feminine. We value neither above the other knowing each to be supportive of the other. We value sex and pleasure as the symbol and embodiment of life, and as one of the sources of energy used in magical practice and religious worship.
    5. We recognize both outer worlds and inner, or psychological worlds sometimes known as the Spiritual World, the Collective Unconsciousness, the Inner Planes, etc. - and we see in the interaction of these two dimensions the basis for paranormal phenomena and magical exercises. We neglect neither dimension for the other, seeing both as necessary for our fulfillment.
    6. We do not recognize any authoritarian hierarchy, but do honor those who teach, respect those who share their greater knowledge and wisdom, and acknowledge those who have courageously given of themselves in leadership.
    7. We see religion, magick, and wisdom in living as being united in the way one views the world and lives within it - a world view and philosophy of life which we identify as Witchcraft - the Wiccan Way.
    8. Calling oneself a ‘Witch’ does not make a Witch - but neither does heredity itself, not the collecting of titles, degrees, and initiations. A Witch seeks to control the forces within her/himself that make life possible in order to live wisely and without harm to other and in harmony with nature.
    9. We believe in the affirmation and fulfillment of life in a continuation of evolution and development of consciousness giving meaning to the Universe we know and our personal role within it.
    10. Our only animosity towards Christianity, or towards any other religion or philosophy of life, is to the extent that its institutions have claimed to be ‘the only way’ and have sought to deny freedom to others and to suppress other ways of religious practice and belief.
    11. As American Witches, we are not threatened by debates on the history of the craft, the origins of various terms, the legitimacy of various aspects of different traditions. We are concerned with our present and our future.
    12. We do not accept the concept of absolute evil, nor do we worship any entity know as ‘Satan’ or ‘the Devil’ as defined by Christian tradition. We do not seek power through the suffering of others, nor accept that personal benefit can be derived only by denial to another.
    13. We believe that we should seek within Nature that which is contributory to our health and well being.

I've always been drawn to the occult and wiccan philosophy even during my time under the Abrahamic religions.

It’s not really a religion. A religion is all about follow the rules, or obey or go to hell. Wiccans don’t believe in the rules of a church or a single rule book for all people. Instead it’s about enjoying, appreciating and learning from nature. The divine feminine is a big part of it as well.

I have been guiding and helping others find their path for a long time and your channel and information you have organized here! It's been a great tool, to be able to direct people to you because this is all the same knowledge and I am able to use my time in more productive ways with people! I see a huge lack of presence of Sacred Feminine energy in the world and we must all do our part to achieve our ballance.
    Thank you!
May the Universe rain it's love upon you!

I enjoyed this video, and found it interesting. I follow a Yogic philosophy myself, and was pleasantly surprised to see that Wicca is completely inline and compatible with the Yoga path. Is it possible for a practicing Yogi to also be a Wiccan ? 🙏

Wicca is simply a spiritual path. It’s a tradition open to everyone interested in growing through a path of love for Nature and respect for others.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a man, woman, both or neither. Everyone can study this path individually or in groups, without exception of their gender, race, religion or sexual preferences.

It is time to remember and reflect on the crimes the Puritans committed in Essex County Mass. in 1692, how they unjustly accused and murdered by hanging so many of our people, Salem will never be forgotten or forgiven. We offer a prayer to our Lord Ahriman and enter into the rituals of blood, salt and water in remembrance. Blessed be.

How exactly would one learn and where is the old books I can start with to really truely understand

    • @harrystewart5294
      @harrystewart5294 3 года назад +2

the best way to learn is research research research, these principles aren't exactly rules they're just ways to explain to non-witches without them thinking we're devil-worshippers etc, i would recommend a book called WICCA by Harmony Nice, it's a very simple read and explains things from ones altar, to divination and even the elder futhark alphabet, it's definitely worth the few pounds it costs

I have ✝️parents and they think anything that isn’t of god is evil and since my family is form 🇷🇸 I want to Do magic
So I can stop the tribes from despising like the gods of Egypt Greek and Norse
So can I still fallow the laws
And also I live in Canada and
The native nations lived with nature and got punished for it so no witch’s live here

My partner is from a mountain clan, they are Christian but many adhere to similar beliefs listed above. There are abilities and secret telling s families pass from one generation to the next, dowsing for instance is passed from father to son. My partner is spiritually sensitive and has met Druids and witches in the spiritual realm, a witch even came to visit asking how he did it. Some leave offerings for nature, like cream for the Fae or tying clouties in trees. They follow the moon for planting, hunting, canning and other such things.

My opinion on the claims of the original ACOW's 13 principles: 1: True. 2: False. 3: Meaningless. 4: True. 5: True. 6: False. 7: Meaningless. 8: False. 9: Meaningless. 10: Drawing a long bow with that one. 11: Meaningless. 12: True. 13: Motherhood statement.
