@@jacobm92 have you considered that maybe the depiction of depression on the show is surface level because it’s being depicted through the lens of people that have a surface-level understanding of their own depression. All being said, the depiction of depression on this show is very real and relatable to a lot of people. Especially on episodes like “Stupid Piece of Shit”. The amount of references and tiny details in this show is just crazy. It’s really hard to find something like Bojack in media

I went into Bojack expecting a silly cartoon, and came out of it crying my eyes out. Honestly, it's one of the best shows I've ever watched.
I remember watching the first season not long after series 2 came out and after about 6 episodes thinking it was funny but probably not something I'd remember for very long. I was NOT prepared for where the show would go from there.
same omg
I just started watching it and I'm not ready to shed a tear
episode 1: "haha funny horse show"
last episode: "oh"

“When you’re wearing rose-tinted glasses, all the red flags just look like flags” that line legitimately shook me when I first heard it and remembered it ever since
Saaaame. One of my two all-time favorite quotes next to "Be the person you would like to meet. If our lives are but a spark in the eyes of gods, then let us blind them." -Hollow Knight
@@syundown6005 who says that in hollow knight? Must've completely missed it. Masterpiece of a game, by the way.
Edit: nevermind, it's a shrine of believers thing. Got it
"You'd probably sleep a lot better at night if you just admit to yourself that you're a selfish, goddamn coward who takes whatever he wants, and doesn't give a shit about who he hurts!"
You picked one of the best lines in the show. This was so deep I had to stop the episode and wipe tears away!
it's an amazing line, but what does it mean?
Bojack Horseman is everything 13 Reasons Why wishes it was: an intelligent and poignant exploration of mental health, morality, social issues, and the capacity for people to hurt others around them without necessarily wanting to or meaning to.
I just started watching The Sopranos and even that show displays mental health 100x better than 13 reasons why and that was one of my first thoughts of the show too.
bang on. it's something everyone of all ages can relate to, one way or another.
And on top of that a show with great animal puns and word play
oh dude, this is the best i ever saw in the comment section. i love the show too .
13 Reasons Why WISHES it could compare to Bojack
I also love how they didn't try and keep the show going for the sake of it because it would've have gotten to that point where even we as the fans could see that they've gone off track. The way it ended it's like we all knew it was time for it to end and it ended so beautifully in a way that you're at peace with it coming to an end.
I'm disappointed it was ended by cancelation. It was definitely time for it to come to a close, but it made the ending feel rushed together.
@@panampace honestly i couldn't tell it was ended by cancellation, from all appearances it felt like the show ended because the story that was needing to be told was finished. I'm so happy they didn't drag it out, because that would ultimately would've just meant watching the characters be miserable for some more episodes just for the sake of it. What an amazing thing to see a show that could let the story be what it is and not squeeze the beauty out of it for money
@@panampace I was really hoping for a Mr peanut butter spin-off, or a todd adventures spin-off
You’re right on this but it’s still so sad it ended. Obviously all good things must come to an end, and it ended oh so well, but it’s still sad it isn’t around. That scene where Diane leaves after dropping Bojack off at rehab while “Under the pressure” plays in the background… oh man the emotions
@@scottyc5116 Eh, I mean yes, the last season has a whole feel of finality, but there was definitely far more they could have done with Todd particularly.
The last season was 16 episodes overall, so I think we could have got one more season (6 and 7 being 12 eps each) and personally it would have been perfect for me .
Still liked the last season, but absolutely feel more could have been done.

Right? Right?!!! I thought I was the only one who felt that way. 🤣

When we get to see the world trough Beatrice's eyes, knowing she has dementia, it really got me. My grandpa passed away last year and he had dementia his last few months, so he was like trapped in his own head, his own world, like Beatrice. Also, he didn't recognize me, just the same way she refered to BoJack as Henrietta.
This show is so raw, just like real life is and that is why it is so good.
Yes, it was done so beautifully, I really appreciated that they went out of their way to show us Beatrice's story. One of my favourite parts of the show.
I felt exactly the same. I never knew my grandma without the alzheimers and that episode just hit every emotion that i felt about her. I cried and called my mother after watching the episode, it really resonated with me in every single way.

But its not to late to change:) mend relationships
That shit hit me too deep. This show is so in touch with the human condition. I like that this show in a lot of ways is pretty cult. It’s not for everyone and that’s ok, for some it’s amongst the greatest shows in TV history.
At this point the only animated show I think rivals it’s greatness is South Park (my opinion, but SP also had some deeply affecting moments. When I was taking care of my Grandmother with Alzheimer’s, that episode about QVC had me in tears because of how well they captured the humor and deeply depressing nature of dementia)
why’s that in all caps?
@Kimiko 42 some people just wont understand..this show is not for everyone unfortunately.
It is SO DAMN TRIPPY hearing Diane's voice without seeing DIANE.
Sidenote: Aaron Paul is now a part of TWO legendary shows.. Breaking Bad and Bojack Horseman.
I watched a good portion of community trying to figure out why Annie sounded so familiar until I noticed a credit saying "Alison Brie" in the intro.

I agree. This is the closest show I know to perfection. I feel sad-- I was heavily invested in all the main and supporting characters, emotionally. Seeing these characters go away is like saying goodbye to friends/acquaintances. This show has taught me a lot about the human condition.
I believe the only 2 shows that compete with this show for that title are Breaking Bad and The Expanse. All three are pretty much perfect in every way.
I legit watch Bojack horseman every night. And have watched it over, and over, and over. And it NEVER gets old. There’s always SOMETHING that I missed, something that makes me open my eyes to depression, and self hatred, and the toxicity that comes with those things. Thank you so much for this show. It is truly a gem that won’t be forgotten.
Same here. I wake up and play bojack on my phone while getting ready for the day, continue while having breakfast, I stop when I work but then play it again while having lunch, then work again and then play again when having dinner or go to bed. I do not have life. I have bojack
BoJack Horseman is an absolute masterpiece, best piece of animated show, and well in my top 3 favorite shows. Best characters and love the topics mentioned and how they're approached.
To me it’s the best and there’s not even a competition, especially after I look at analysis videos and realize that this is and always will be better than anything else

After all he has gone throug and specially after all the effort Diane took to help him (she was the only one who at last had enough patience and hope for him and took him to rehab)... Too busy doing it all? 😝😝
On a honeymoon break with Judah perhaps?
I am a russian guy and I LOVE BoJack Horseman! Thanks for that. My best show I 've even seen! It's so deep and realistic show about other sides of our live. Right into the heart!
greatest show of all time
I love how the voice actors seem to have exact same vibe as the characters they play
I don't know, Aaron Paul seems to have a totally different vibe than Todd.
especially diane
@@akmal94ibrahim have u watched breaking bad?
@@zaraayup you do know Arron Paul is an actor and Jessie is a character? Lol
@@akmal94ibrahim he literally acts the most like Todd of all the characters
Without bojack horseman there is so many things I wouldn’t be able to do today and I’m glad I could watch this show
DylXn Pxrker same here
Things such as??
dtpmoney I can’t speak for the person who posted the comment, but for me it help put a lot of emotions I had into actual words and perspective. Like, I found bojack series at a time in my life I was at my lowest and it was as if the show was made for me (without sounding narcissistic lol) it was as if thoughts I could never describe or understand were on my tv screen being put into context. It felt good knowing the stuff I felt was human and experienced by many others. Thanks to the show my relationships with people have actually improved and that little critical voice inside my head is a bit friendlier to me. I can communicate with friends and family in a better way. I’m not saying it’s all because of the show, but the show helped A LOT. I’m so sad it’s over but I’m beyond grateful it actually exists. I’ve never seen another show like bojack.
Marcus Antonius i know! Lmao. But thing is, it’s an animated series about very human emotions. It’s so silly but so powerful, like you said.
So I should watch it?
Todd's my favorite! He's such a goober with a big heart and just loves everyone.
Bojack Horseman turned into my safe space. The place i go when everything else is falling apart, cuz i know the journeys, i know what's going to happen, but at the same time i always observe something new, some gag or just new ways to read the show. It's been 2y now and i still get sad thinking about it's end.
This show saved me after the death of my son, last year. And it continues to help me.
Alison Brie is apparently getting married later today while Paul F. Tompkins is beginning his professorship at Hogwarts.
LMAOOOOOO
they're all dressed so "peculiarly", like each one of them attended a different event but the same one at the same time
Aaron looks like he's on his way to a Prince tribute band after this
He’s the head of Hurblpurb House.
Jesse Pinkman and Annie Edison in one show
*"What is this a crossover show!?"*
I respect the community and breaking bad references
Lui Dapan
Don’t forget Will Arnett from Arrested Development
I hadn’t watched any of these shows until after I finished bojack so It’s crazy coming back to it now knowing all these actors
and GOB Bluth!
how about Gob Bluth? 😂
You you you yu..... mentioned Jeese and Annie but not the guy in 3000$ suit ..COME ON....
It’s weird to me because after watching this show I’ve become a fan of Community and Breaking Bad so to see Jesse and Annie as characters is surreal
i finished bojack today and i just cannot get over how real it is. bojack is quite possibly my favourite thing to ever happen just because there is nothing else like it and im so sad that i'll never be able to watch it again for the first time.
"Sarah Lynn
Sarah Lynn..."
That was not a very good time.
It was too much, man.
Yeah tell me why I thought I couldn't cry anymore and there I was at 2 am sitting in my bed alone SOBBING. not crying, not shedding a tear, LOUD, UNCONTROLLABLE SOBBING. 😭 I resonated with and rooted for Sarah Lynn so hard man😭 she wanted to be a goddamn architect. People can feel how they want about her but I loved her so inexplicably much🤷♀️ it was a damn tragedy and a half OVER A CARTOON and it broke me bc I felt it. And that's the beauty and pain of this whole show pretty well summed up
@@magsyilden670 And don't even get me started about those few seconds before, and, well, honestly, after, the heartbeat sound started. The show as a whole is just so brilliantly written and executed in every little detail and big moment alike, it's just unbelievable.
Uggghhh stop hurting meeee
Start from that episode , everything becomes darker .
Mr. Peanut-Butter’s voice actor is blowing my mind.
He even looks like mr pb
He IS the human embodiment of PB
Aelia's Manga and Book Reviews The human embodiment of Mr Peanut Butter clearly is Rob Lowe

This show means a lot to me. I was struggling a lot and this show held my hand. Thank you so much for this. 🌸
I got into this show last month and finished it today. All I have to say is WOW, subconsciously it helped me with dealing in various things I didn't know were a problem. It was very fun to watch and you kinda see what your life could be or is depending on your choices. I LOVE this show and all the characters in it. Thank you for making this amazing show
Was waiting for Paul F. Tompkins to say “Doggy doggy... what now?”
It's a modern day masterpiece. Period.

Did you just put a period before and after the word 'period'

agree
this show really is something else man. I started watching it as a piece to spend my free time on but after a while i got so attached to it. just the realistic and dark undertone to the whole show is amazing. in the end i was bawling my eyes out. I'd literally sell my kidney to see it again for the first time!!!!!
I watched bojack horseman for the first time in 2018 when I was only a few weeks sober. This show was hard to watch at times because I saw myself in bojack and the sticky journey he has with sobriety. This shows meaning has changed so much to me over the years. When I first watched it, it was uncomfortable, it made me confront things about myself I didn’t like. Now as I watch it over and over again (currently 4 years sober) it brings a beautiful comfort to me. Thank you to everyone involved in this show so deeply.
"Back. In. The. 10's. I was in an animated Netflix show..."
I'm Bojack The Horse (BOJACK!) 🎶
WOOOOOAAAAAAAAAH
I'm Will Arnett don't act like yoouuuu don't knowwwwwwww
Don't act like you don't know!!🎶🎸
Honestly bojack is such a comfort for me. While I’m in a dark place, seeing bojack there too helps. Helps me get through it. And every time I go back, bojack is there waiting for me and I watch the whole series again. I’m not gunna lie, idk what I would do if or should I say when, it’s taken off Netflix
This show is so incredible. The writing is amazing. The way it ended was beautiful. Thank you for BoJack Horseman, and everyone involved.
I literally can’t hear the voice actors talk without thinking they’re the characters wtf
YASS
Layla I swear
It's because their normal voices are their characters. Some voice actors have to change their voice a lot for characters, and some don't at all
same
Specially the bojack's voice actor
My favorite quote was “It gets easier, but you gotta do it everyday. That’s the hard part, but it does get easier”. I loved this show. Thank you♥️
Am currently in a clinic for years of depression and other things.
Gifted another patient a book, that requires her to write stuff down every day so she remembers not all is shit.
I know she doesnt watch the show, so i put that quote on the first page for her.
Because its hella true andhelped me a bit

I suffer from depression and this show is just there for me all the time, i keep replaying it on the background even when I'm too depressed to open my eyes and watch it i listen to it while sleeping sometimes for days not showering and suffering a lot, but this show comforts me i don't know why it's like i can't describe how much I love this show, I'm so sad it can't continue for life but that's life i guess, all things end. This show gave me a lot i really want to thank the people who made it!
where is Amy Sedaris?
Princess Carolyn was the highlight of every ep for me
Amy sedaris was never there with the cast. She did everything via the phone.
I came to the comment section solely to find someone saying that. Thank you.
