Random fun fact, that's one of my cats, her name is "Cow" because she looks like one! Had to let her in while I'm filming else she will be shouting outside the room and I can't film with her loud meows 👀
Whenever my stupid mind tells me to slack off I come here and watch any of your video. Looking at you gives me motivation to work on my dream. Finding this channel was the best thing happened in my life so far. Thank you❤️.
Thank you so much for the kind words 😭 Encouragement like this keeps me going. I hope you don't give up!! (Please don’t call your mind stupid, it’s definitely not! Give yourself time to grow 💪🏻)
Absolutely timely vid for me! I'm currently looking for a UI/UX/Web Developer internship position and I can't thank you enough for these tips. More power to you Ms. Rachel! 🤗💫
I certainly appreciate your perspective. There is so much advice out there with opposing perspectives that each person needs to thoughtfully determine which advice is best for their needs. The primary help that I received from this video is to emphasize the impact the work has made.
You make such crisp and engaging videos, not to mention, SUPER useful content too! The info & tips you share, show that you truly care about your audience and love your passion for design and detailing! Sending lots of love, keep going
Hi Rachel. I'm getting into UI/Ux , actually I'm in the process of switching my career path. And I consider you as a mentor. Thanks for your videos. ☀️☀️👍👍🌻🌻
@@alwinchristo hey hope you doing well ... i am also interested in this field can you tell me something like from where i can start pls plss share something pls...
@@kirandeepkaur8349 I'm just starting.. just watching testimonials of people who have switched careers into UI/Ux on RUclips is a great way to start. That's how I've started. Then we can enroll in an online course and proceed from there. But first understand what path the people who have succeeded have taken and kinda start from there.
Hello Rachel! I really appreciate you wanting to share your tips and knowledge with us. Can you make a video with suggestions how we should write an email when applying for a job with no experience? What skills should be emphasized and how to present yourself as a beginner? Thank you :)
Very in-depth and useful, as well as the resources you provided. Appreciate them very much :D I'll make sure to make a good use out of them, thank you!
Such a value packed video! Showing the impact you had makes all the difference - really gives recruiters confidence in that you can provide value to the company. It does require foresight as you have to make sure you work on something that can be measured, so if you haven’t thought about it before, better do it now!
I really like your videos. very thoughtful Even the video is visually pleasing and keeps the viewer focused on the content with the subtle progress bars and a simple topic. You are an awesome empathic designer. thanks for the video 👏
I apologize in advance, perhaps I missed it. Tbh, I completed a boot camp and now I prepare my resume. Since I don't have any background in UI/UX experience directly, I want to put my study case in my resume. However, as you said it would be better if the experience content should be like include a matrix scale about what we've done in the project to show how much impact we gave and the process from beginning to end. So, how do I write that point, if my experience is only limited to study cases? I really need an advice. Anyway your content very informative and really helpful, amazing job Ms Rachel!
Hi Rachel! I was brought here from Matt D'Avella's newsletter (slow growth) So proud to see a fellow Malaysian promoted by Matt ❤❤ New subscriber here to support you! :)
Omg! Thanks for dropping by Ristina! I took his RUclipsr course and has learned so much from it ever since. Happy to have a fellow Malaysian here too 🎉😍
I've been watching your videos lately, and I find them to be really helpful! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I am fine-tuning my resume because I have a creative one and a simpler one. I'm trying to hit the perfect spot in between
Be very careful using Figma for resumes. Their PDF export will often be unreadable when you copy and paste it (it’s jumbled and it spells everything wrong) meaning it won’t be able to be read by the programs recruiters use to sort your resumes. This means your resume may not be seen because these systems won’t be able to rank you 😬
Hi everyone! Thanks for the heads up! I've tried exporting the Figma CV to PDF, it looks okay to me, I've checked and did not notice any misspellings or problems. Do you have an example Figma file that generates unreadable PDFs? Perhaps we can troubleshoot the issue together :) P/S It has been 1 year so I reckon Figma would have improved their PDF export features to be more reliable.
Hi Rach, I wanted to update you on my experience exporting my resume in PDF format using Figma. Initially, the exported PDF appeared to be fine with no apparent issues. However, I noticed that when I attempted to copy and paste the text from the PDF into another document, some words were missing. Curious to test the compatibility, I uploaded the PDF to some free ATS platforms. Surprisingly, the sites were able to read my resume and even provide a score. This led me to believe that exporting the resume through Figma allows it to be read by ATS systems. However, it seems that this process may also introduce some disruptions to the PDF format itself. I hope this information is helpful in understanding the potential implications of exporting a resume through Figma. If you have any insights or suggestions on how to address this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.:) Love all your tutorials!@@rachelhow
Hi, Rachel, Is there any tips and tricks video of how to create a design system for an app? If not, I want to request to make a short clip video for this!
nice video go on ❤ i have problem with making color contrust i can't choose the perefect color in my design if there any tips please make video i need that
I notice that you didn't include your image in the resume. Can you tell me why the reason is ? And what your recommendation for this? Should i include image in my resume or not.
Hi Rachel, I’ve heard that two column resumes risk getting filtered or jumbled up by the ATS. Can a UX Designer create a compelling one-column resume that is functional yet creative?
I find it hard to quantify my coding experience it's mostly just implementation of designs, and backend systems. There's not much metrics in there than writing well tested software features faster, and cleaner. Can someone help me out? Thanks
Hey rachel...well ui/ux designer is different right but i would like to learn ui design can you tell me something like from where i can start like course material also i want to know about ui is better or ux designer?? Pls rachel pls help me ....i feel really needy rachel pls help me

My bachelor's was BCom with computer Applications and Masters in HR. I reside in France. My french level is very basic. is that gonna affect my future in UX UI career. Thanks Geethu
Yes, that's exactly how I started, but it'll be a little tougher right now as the job market is saturated. You'll need to groom your UI/UX skills, mindset, design thinking to get a job.
