The game is over a decade old, with like 10 different DLC's, and CONSISTANT monthly content updates... I don't understand why rust players hate FP so much... Yes there are mistakes made along the way... Name a survival game that still supports adding and updating content after 10 years... (Dayz is a joke) Hell, even the mainstream AAA titles give up on their games after like 3 years now... You guys paid $60 MAX for a copy of Rust, you play it every day of your life for 8000 hrs, then complain to the devs that it's not ALWAYS absolutely perfect and act like you got scammed out your money...

I agree that if a glitch is found it should be exploited. When people start exploiting it the developers usually get it fixed by the next update. I use to trap people with horses at outpost when that glitch still worked. They only patched it recently but I did it for months before youtubers started doing it and then Facepunch patched it. I would trap people at outpost and demand 50 scrap to let them go. If it wasnt for youtubers like yourself calling these exploits out they would rarely ever get fixed.

Usually exploits arent bannable unless it harms other players, if you abuse a glitch/bug that ends up with killing people or ruining other players they just ban you for it!

It is understandable for someone who isn't exposing the problem on a public level. These exploits are game breaking and if this is what he has to do to get it fixed then so be it. Facepunch is doing a shitty job and he's exposing it's really that simple. By no means should he ever be penalized for this. If anything Facepunch should be hiring this man because he does a better job at finding bugs and exposing them than Facepunch does to fix the problem. Even tho i do not encourage any type of exploits , i do agree this looks fun to at least try, maybe not abuse it but just try 1 or 2 runs just for the giggles. I also agree with Seth when he complains about LaunchSite Elite Crates being trash. No wonder everyone say they ruined the puzzle of Launch. Launch is only good for Bradley and a bit of PvP nowadays. Plus, they recently added scientists to make it even harder to reach the top (if you don't use glitch and do the actual puzzle path) so it's a good amount of fight + getting countered by players + eating a ton of rads even with hazzy suit on, and all of that to get: x1 computer station, x1 window embrazure, and x1 DoubleBarrel Shotgun... Oh maybe x25 scrap if you're lucky. Facepunch definitly needs to re-update launch site either removing the scientists so it's a little bit more profitable if you loot the top crates on early wipes with prim gears like a crossbow, hazzy and a jug of water only, for example. Or either keep the scientists and rads for the difficulty, but then buff these elite crates that gives you actual road crate loot. I mean, x1 DB, 1x CCTV Camera, x25 scrap and x1 veritcal embrasure, sounds more like roads loot than elite loot to me.
Facepalm shouldn't punish players for pointing out flaws or exploits in the game. Many content creators have also published content featuring absolute unfair advantage explots (remember when you could shoot through foundations?) and they never got any repercussions. I think it's very unprofessional and out of touch of them to ban non-cheating players right now, even temporarily, especially with all the other current problems in the game. They've really started to lose my respect the past month with this trainwreck of an update, and I'm never one to complain.

Fucking around with exploits is fine, as long as your doing just that messing around, but if your using it for an advantage per game session like getting easier & faster access to loot (good or not) then thats not cool. bunker and externals maybe exploits but their not ruining the games progression/loop its just makes raiding harder, instead of using the exploits until they patch it maybe let them know about it or tell another youtuber that has connections.

I honestly agree with facepunch on this. They gave you a 30 minute ban as a timeout and a show that they will ban people who do what you're doing. Deter people from doing the exploit while they create a fix, then put in a hotfix so no one can do it anymore. It makes sense why it wasn't a permaban and it was just something to get your attention.

They do ban cheaters, it’s just that they are always one step ahead of the anti cheat. Rage cheaters get instantly banned within a few hours. Closet cheaters can play until the cheat gets detected or they get looked into by EAC, then manual banned if they find anything weird within the code. Also, it’s not facepunchs fault, it’s EAC. Blame the anti cheat company, not rust itself. Just to add, they have been hammering down on cheaters since the newest update. They banned over 50k accounts in a few weeks.

It infuriates me to no end that if you call out external TCs, pixel gaps, bunkers, etc. as exploits, which they ABSOLUTELY ARE, people just call you a crybaby for not understanding "mechanics". It's even worse when literally EVERY TIME Facepunch makes a new paid DLC, they also introduce exploits because they can't be bothered to test their game. This isn't the first time a DLC has caused this level of exploit and caused people to be banned for using it. It's not like you're cheating, you're literally just playing the game. That's on Facepunch, not you. Using in-game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage is what literally every base-building channel does.

There's a difference from streaming an exploit to a large audience vs letting them know it's an issue. It's their job to fix the problem, but it's also not their fault for people abusing an exploit.

If anything Facepunch should be hiring this man because he does a better job at finding bugs and exposing them than Facepunch does to fix the problem. Even tho i do not encourage any type of exploits , i do agree this looks fun to at least try, maybe not abuse it but just try 1 or 2 runs just for the giggles.
I also agree with Seth when he complains about LaunchSite Elite Crates being trash. No wonder everyone say they ruined the puzzle of Launch. Launch is only good for Bradley and a bit of PvP nowadays. Plus, they recently added scientists to make it even harder to reach the top (if you don't use glitch and do the actual puzzle path) so it's a good amount of fight + getting countered by players + eating a ton of rads even with hazzy suit on, and all of that to get: x1 computer station, x1 window embrazure, and x1 DoubleBarrel Shotgun... Oh maybe x25 scrap if you're lucky. Facepunch definitly needs to re-update launch site either removing the scientists so it's a little bit more profitable if you loot the top crates on early wipes with prim gears like a crossbow, hazzy and a jug of water only, for example. Or either keep the scientists and rads for the difficulty, but then buff these elite crates that gives you actual road crate loot. I mean, x1 DB, 1x CCTV Camera, x25 scrap and x1 veritcal embrasure, sounds more like roads loot than elite loot to me.
Facepalm shouldn't punish players for pointing out flaws or exploits in the game. Many content creators have also published content featuring absolute unfair advantage explots (remember when you could shoot through foundations?) and they never got any repercussions. I think it's very unprofessional and out of touch of them to ban non-cheating players right now, even temporarily, especially with all the other current problems in the game. They've really started to lose my respect the past month with this trainwreck of an update, and I'm never one to complain.

you did continue to use the fly exploit even after the one vid so i think its a deserved ban. Fucking around with exploits is fine, as long as your doing just that messing around, but if your using it for an advantage per game session like getting easier & faster access to loot (good or not) then thats not cool. bunker and externals maybe exploits but their not ruining the games progression/loop its just makes raiding harder, instead of using the exploits until they patch it maybe let them know about it or tell another youtuber that has connections.

I honestly agree with facepunch on this. They gave you a 30 minute ban as a timeout and a show that they will ban people who do what you're doing. Deter people from doing the exploit while they create a fix, then put in a hotfix so no one can do it anymore. It makes sense why it wasn't a permaban and it was just something to get your attention.
And yet bro cried so much about it. If this was anyone else we'd be banned for like a month.

Just wrong time. Could FP have done better to warn instead of a timeout? Sure, though it is their game and since it wasn't any groundbreaking permaban, I think it is still justified in their creation to just give a short timeout for it. They do ban cheaters, it’s just that they are always one step ahead of the anti cheat. Rage cheaters get instantly banned within a few hours. Closet cheaters can play until the cheat gets detected or they get looked into by EAC, then manual banned if they find anything weird within the code. Also, it’s not facepunchs fault, it’s EAC. Blame the anti cheat company, not rust itself.
Just to add, they have been hammering down on cheaters since the newest update. They banned over 50k accounts in a few weeks.

It infuriates me to no end that if you call out external TCs, pixel gaps, bunkers, etc. as exploits, which they ABSOLUTELY ARE, people just call you a crybaby for not understanding "mechanics". It's even worse when literally EVERY TIME Facepunch makes a new paid DLC, they also introduce exploits because they can't be bothered to test their game. This isn't the first time a DLC has caused this level of exploit and caused people to be banned for using it.
It's not like you're cheating, you're literally just playing the game. That's on Facepunch, not you. Using in-game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage is what literally every base-building channel does.

There's a difference from streaming an exploit to a large audience vs letting them know it's an issue. It's their job to fix the problem, but it's also not their fault for people abusing an exploit.

I normally agree with you Sleth, but I play rust a lot and I'm aware of exploits like this and I don't abuse it. Think about all the people you killed on top of launch. None of those were fair to the players you killed because you exploited to get to a spot you wouldn't normally be able to reach so easily. It was a fun video to watch, but your rambling at the end just makes me lose faith in you as a human.
