Cute kitty Belka didn't want to be an observer, but decided to take part in this IQ test. And she would have been the winner if she had had the strength
Kitties would have needed a smaller bottle, with a string on the mouthpiece. Even if they knew what to do, they can't get a hold of the mouthpiece because their mouth won't open that wide. Bottle is too big for cat paws. Yuki gets points for enthusiasm. Olive for technique. ❤️ First dog was a pioneer.
I agree with the smaller bottle, but the string would be cheating. by the way, ,he did cheat in the cats' favor by holding the bottle for them. cats can perfectly use their paws to rotate a bottle on a bar, but hey, that would require a functioning brain.
Bonsoir. Vos chiens sont intelligents et aussi ils ont envie de faire plaisir à leur maître Quant à Olive elle semble plus cool sachant que son maître lui donnera quand même une récompense. Ils sont heureux avec vous deux.
Yes, our last dog smelled the cup cakes in the other room, door closed. She opened it while we were away for an hour and when we came back she had eaten over half of my birthday cupcakes 😆🙈 however if she had been more intelligent she would have removed the cupcake paper before eating but she ate it too. 🙈😆
my Dad had cats when was a kid in the 50's. One male cat could open doors and steal food. What they did was they took him and moved him away in another area more than 20 km away and after a week he came back.
Monty and Yuki worked this one out so fast, as did Olive, who was her usual charming self. But the winner is Belka, because she quickly worked out what to do just didn't have the strength. But Bat also deserves an award for taking being disinterested to a whole new level.
@@companyman7128 It was the 2nd dog, Yuki or how it was. Btw, really interesting how the 1st & 3rd dog "just refined their technique", while the 2nd did it on different ways. Monty , Yuki , Olivia and Belka were amazing! Belka was determined to join the game and get the treats. It was nice to see Sonya and Bat watching Belka take her turn. ☺

I made one of those for dogs a number of years ago and one of them absolutely dominated the game from the get go. His two siblings eventually learned from him. Now I have 3 new doggos and they cannot grasp it at all. One will actually get scared and run away from it. Some dogs are smarter than others but they are all a delight. 😁
The cats are the winners, no doubt. They don‘t need to use their teeth and paws. They‘ve got a superpower called „cuteness“ which turns everybody into their servant. 😸
Sinceramente, todo esto no ha hecho más que sacar una sonrisa y varias carcajadas por la enorme habilidad de estos animales. Felicitaciones por tan ingeniosa idea. Saludos desde Argentina.
I love your videos! All of your cats and dogs too! Especially Olive! He is beautiful! I would love to have an Olive. I lost my dog Mac Jacob, he was a Shiba Inu. He had a very large tumor. We had him for 10 years. I do have a cat now for the last 2 years but would love an Olive. It's been too hard for me to get another dog still after my Mac passed in 2019. Oh my goodness.. you have a puppy Olivia on that I'm watching now! Just want you to know that you have made my day!! Paula
Thank you, Paula ❤️ I'm sorry for your loss. In 2020, our dog named Saga died, she was bitten by a viper. Olivia is Saga's niece. It helped us get through the hard loss of Saga. They are of the same blood and very similar.
All are winners. The dogs, the cats so impressive how each can figure it out. Eric they enjoy it as much as you do. Keep up the marvelous work. We, your viewers get great pleasure in watching. Proof that the more time you spend with any living being the smarter he/she becomes. Thanks for posting. 😊
I used to have a black cat named Bat, she had really big ears and liked to fly. Even as a kitten she'd jump from some of the highest places she could reach. Climb to the top of doors just to jump down, get on top of the fridge and launch herself as far into the dining room as possible. She literally liked to fly. Unfortunately she landed wrong once, her last time. She started hacking and coughing, we took her to the vet and they said it looked like she punctured a lung some how. We explained her habits and the vet said cats ribs are pretty flexible, she probably stuck a landing wrong and pushed a rib into her lung. He recommended we say good bye. Man she had some big frickin' ears and surely loved to fly.
Belka is always first to try out the experiment. Nice to see her activity. Yuki and Monty were quick to learn the trick. Olive looks grown up and a bit matured. Cheers to all out there 🙂🥰
All the dogs worked it out so fast, but I think Belka is the winner, because she knew what to do but didn't have the strength. I hope she regains it soon! I love this channel so much, and these videos are my favorite. I think a new game for them could be combining the jumping game with a logic game: wrap a see-through tear-able material all around a clear cup/bottle with food, put the cup/bottle in the doorway, and wrap the same material on either side of the doorway around the cup/bottle. They might try to find a way to get to the food by jumping over the walls, but then realize they have to tear through the wall to get to it. You could also raise the cup to different levels inside the two walls. It would be interesting to see what the ones who typically crawl under the wall could do.
I think they are all winners. My Great Pyrenees sisters invented a game called Smash You In The Head...it consisted of them chewing a 50' garden hose into 5-8 foot pieces and then running through the meadow smashing each other in their heads. I nearly died laughing...but it was scary when they came charging up to me with long hose pieces in their mouths...I was doomed. hahahaha
❤😂 Yuki seems both enthusiastic and bright. Olive too with more cautious calculated approaches. Monty goes for it. Cats are precious and smart, just lacking in paw power perhaps.🎉
Interesting. I have seen food puzzles where two wolves had to co-operate by pulling two ropes at the same time to slide a tray and get the treat. The domestic dogs each pulled only on one rope but not at the same time, they looked to the human to get the treat. But they got the idea if the human pulled one and they pulled the other, this getting the treat.
This is amazing! Did you design the test ? I love how you work with your beautiful animals/pets you just love them so much ❤❤ greetings from Dallas, Texas
At first monty. Than yuki. At last oli.she make it good with the bottle. She is a young girl.the cats try it good too.thanks for your great Video ideas
The huskies were rather quick to figure out how to get to the treats❣ For the cats it should have been a smaller bottle as they can't use their little mouth the same way. Belka did a really good job though, she seemed to understand the "mechanism". Bat and Sonya, as many cats, don't look interested at all... 😂 The real winners of course are we humans, witnessing a lovely video again! 👍😸
It took the dogs a little bit to figure it out, but they finally got the treats. I like at first when they pushed the bottle and then looked below and saw there are no treats to be found. Good test for dogs intelligence levels. Thanks for the video and take care.
Although there are many challenges, but also takes great care to pets! Reward, comfort and assist always be certainly if appropriate. He is not a pet owner who teases but helps his pets grow. Wish you and your pets enjoy the time together. 😄
I'll give Olive credit for having thought her way to the solution. She chose the right solution, right away; that it took some time had more to do with lack of confidence and decisiveness than lack of intelligence. The other dogs simply used the default dog method: using an excess of energy to randomly do stuff until something works, and then remember what they did that worked. You have to give it to them, though. While not an intellectual approach, it's definitely effective. Unfortunately, that effectiveness also makes it harder to test their intelligence, as any test will have to be "randomness-proof". I'll give Belka credit for having worked it out; less strength than the dogs was what hindered her. As ambush hunters, cats have an instinctive aversion to affecting their environment, and will put more thought into avoiding that than achieving it. They're also less food motivated, unless they're actually very hungry. Not least, they're not famous for their enthusiasm. Where dogs will rush in and rely on enthusiasm and perseverance, cats will stand back and rely on patience and precision. While dignified traits, this makes them even harder to test than dogs. If I put treats in a bottle to test my cat, it would backfire. He'd consider it an IQ-test, but for me, not for him, and he would consider me to have failed miserably. After all, putting treats in a bottle is just stupid. He'd walk away in disgust. Olive and Belka bucked the trend, though!
Cats mouth not big enough to grab and turn bottle. However I bet if you left the cat alone with food that way the cat would turn the whole rack over to spill the food. I've had Cats and dogs and am fairly sure they're equally smart.

Is she so much smarter because she is much older? And I wonder how each cat would behave if there was a much desired treat in the bottle! I wish there was more spotlight on them on your channel! Everybody knows that dogs are quite smart, but lots of people think that cats are stupid - just because they don't get out of their way to please their human. But if tests were made with rewards that cats desire, I believe cats would show quite some intelligence, probably. But nobody really knows! A topic to investigate!
