I am so nervous to have it done. But thank you for taking the time to do this video. I am past my child bearing years, but you are so young. I wish you good luck you are so sweet and pretty.
Hi! I got a hysteroscopy done yesterday. I have a fibroid and the dr saw a polyp during the vaginal ultrasound, which is why I needed this procedure. I was given a pill to relax, 2 pain medication and a pain shot before anything. I had local anesthesia in my cervix. That part was the most painful than the actual procedure. My dr explained what I was going to feel when I got the anesthesia, so it helped me prepare for the feeling. The procedure itself took about 10 minutes. She removed the polyp and cleared up some tissue around there. It feels like a long pap and at points it felt like pressure on my bladder. But it was not painful. So far I’ve only felt bloated, some cramps and pain when I move a certain way. I have light bleeding. But other than that, I feel good. And I hope this was the answer to my problems.
I had my Hysteroscopy yesterday, I was under anaesthesia, so I didn't pain any pain at all. I felt fine after the procedure, no problem all, very little spotting, no pain at all maybe due to the prescribed Tylenol. Glad it was over, heaved a sigh of relief.
Omg thank you for sharing your experience. I'm having anxiety attacks just thinking about my upcoming procedure. I will keep re-reading this to give me comfort. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this! I’m having this done tomorrow with local as well and using your video to calm myself :) my procedure has been postponed since March because of COVID and I can’t wait to get it over with.
ramona whitaker thanks for sharing, that's brilliant news. I am having a GA and hysteroscopy to remove my partial septum. Please keep me in your thoughts
ramona whitaker thank you, that's so true. I'm sure it isn't so bad, but the idea of surgery is terrifying especially if never experienced before. All for a good cause I guess! 😘
I just think your awesome. I'm going to be checked out for polyps and I'm not as scared or worried as I would've been. Thank you so much for posting this :)
I had this procedure done without any anaesthetic... it was very painful! I will need to have this done again and will be definitely requesting local anaesthetic since your experience sounds so great! I can't believe I wasn't offered any in the first place because it really was an awful experience for me the first time that by the sounds of it I didn't need to experience!
With my "surprise" pregnancy I had a polyp on my cervix that caused me to bleed the entire time until I actually lost her at 21 weeks. They have no idea why my water broke but I always have this theory in the back of my mind that the polyp really made my tissue weak and vulnerable to harmful bacteria. I'm really happy that you were able to clear things out regardless of your next step. I'm pregnant again anxiously waiting for my rainbow but so much better knowing there isn't a polyp. Best of luck!
ginahina - Oh my goodness!! I guess that's why my RE made me remove any suspected polyps! After my hysteroscopy, I wondered, "Will removing this stuff REALLY improve my fertility?" It didn't really seem like it would but after reading your comment... I'm starting to think otherwise. She did take some good-sized polyps in there so... i guess we'll see! And congrats on your pregnancy!! How exciting! Praying this will be your take home baby!!! Can you please keep me updated? Thanks!
connie k Yes I will definitely keep you updated from time time on your videos. Most people even professionals will say polyps are fine but in my case I don't think it was so I'm glad you had them removed. Wishing you a swift recovery!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience I’m a little anxious right now bc I’ll be having my hysterosopy this month. I haven’t been trying to get pregnant I just had discomfort a little pain and more than 1 period the past few months so I had 2 pelvic ultrasounds and that how they saw I have a little something that maybe a polyp 😔😞 but you sharing your experience made my day brighter 😍😍😍😍😍 I’m happy all went well ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am due to have a hysteroscopy in a few weeks. I am 27 and married. Blessed with a beautiful 4 year old daughter. I have been unable to conceive since my daughter & have had abnormaly long cycles. Thanks for your video, I have been pretty anxious about the hysteroscooy! Now i'm hopeful this procedure will be the answer(:
I will be doing this surgery. Did it before but apparently everything wasnt cleared. I went to a different hospital and dr. And still have adhesions and tissue so now have to do this surgery again :( did you get pregnant naturally after? Or did you do iui? This whole fertility journey is so confusing and frustrating 😭
Ouchee. I will have a GA for this and a biopsy. A few years ago had polyps removed under GA too. As my friend had polyps removed with no pain meds n said she felt she been stabbed with knitting needles. Get a GA if you can. Don't understand why we are put through this in today's age with all the meds they have available.
Mine was just cramping feeling. Stabbed like knitting needles you'd bleed to death no way could of it felt like that. Not for a polyp removal. What she have done
I lived unnecessarily with fibroids for 2 years. I bled so much from them I had to have 2 blood transfusions; one each year. I was so afraid of surgery. Male DR.'s were pushing hysterectomy. I found an OBGYN who said that was not necessary. I had a hysteroscopic myomectomy recently. 40 minutes, general anesthesia, no pain, no discomfort and I went grocery shopping an hour after the procedure. I wasted 2 years living in fear of the unknown.
I'm also planning a myomectomy hysteroscopy. I've had several surgeries before but my concern is my uterus is retroverted which will make the procedure more challenging. I've been suffering from severely painful periods with many other symptoms for a long time. No one ever gave me the option for this until I found new gynecologist. I have fibroids in my cavity & other areas but hoping this will help with severe debilitating periods. I was told the uterus tries to expel the fibroids within the cavity.
That only works if you have fibroids within the uterine cavity itself, though. I had a fibroid that was the size of a cantaloupe, attached to my intestines for a blood supply. It took 2 oncologists to free it, over 6 hours. My fertility is now destroyed, as the surgical scarring closed my tubes off. Going in for a hysteroscopy tomorrow, because after I had an HSG done, my doctor said my uterus (inside, now) was completely distorted from either new fibroids, polyps, or possibly endometrial cancer. Good times.
I just have mine today and everything went well. No pain , light menstrual period ,was under general anesthesia and was very good i was so scared before
Thank you so much for this video. Maybe doc has referred me to do this at some point and I am FREAKING OUT!!!! You really have put my mind at rest to an extent. I see you posted this video a year a go... What eventually happened? Have you got a child? Did it happen naturally? I really hope you got what you wanted huni xxx
D0NTJUSTDREAMITD0IT I just got this done 2 days ago. After the procedure, I didn’t feel any pain. Just light spotting. But 2 days later i felt period cramps and I’m still bleeding but lightly. And yes they give u a pad afterwards and u can wear jeans

Wow! This is such wonderful, amazing news! No fibroids! Hallelujah! I am so happy and relieved to hear that the procedure went so well and your doc is such a superstar :) I say try naturally because you have officially removed all known obstacles to your fertility so why not try?!! I have a really good feeling about this, too, Connie, and I hope and pray so hard that you and John can conceive on your own. Take good care of yourself, my dear. Sending you big hugs and well wishes xoxo
MagicNumber3 - Thanks for the sweet words Leah! And yes, woo hooo I'm just happy to be done with it! And thanks for your input on next steps... I am leaning towards trying naturally for a few months! Please continue to keep me in your thoughts!
Guys, my Pap smear came back abnormal and now my OB wants to do this procedure but never mentioned about going to sleep. I’ve read a lot of comments that it’s super painful. What do I do
So my mum is having her Polyp removed inside her cervics. I am so depressed because she will be having a surgery? Everyone is telling me I’m over reacting? Please can someone with experience explain to me if it’s serious or it’s going to be all fine?
Did you have IV sedatives for anxiety and pain control...I am going to have next week and I am very nervous.. Just wanna ask question to those people who did this under anesthesia, what kind of anesthesia they were given?
How long does the pain last? I had my hysteroscopy done October 25th they had found several I was put under for the procedure. The pain usually comes out of nowhere or if I'm doing too much you have any suggestions please help
I had a in office hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy with no anesthesia or local. Hysteroscope gave me moderate cramping as it passed through my cervix for maybe 2 mins. No pain once it was in my uterus. The biopsy gave me really really bad cramping but that pain only lasted 5 seconds. Then no pain at all after. Whole procedure lasted less then 10 mins. In and out of office in less than an hour. Over all it was tolerable and totally worth skipping preadmission testing and the long crappy surgery center hassle. Dont be scare. It was ok.
Had one yesterday. No numbing meds. I took 800 ibuprofen before hand. Was not bad at all. Its unconfortable but bearable. Its like a very small endoscopy scope. I think the speculum is the worst part
i WENT TO DAY TO HAVE MY POULP REMOVED BUT IT HURT EVEN WITH IT NUMB IN THE AREA SO THEY ARE PUTTING ME IN TO HAVE ME GO TO SLEEP LOL I AM SUCH A WIMP HAD MY BIOPSY DUN THAT COME BACK OK I JUST COULD NOT STAND THE STINGING LIKE YOU ARE AT A DENTIST
Was this all done in an office visit or more of a surgery like center & with the sedation for the removal of tissue and surgically breaking up any scar tissue? Did you get to watch it being done on a screen or anything like that?
Did you feel any discomfort pain my ginecologuat advising me general anesthesia i want local.anesthesia because i have to many issues high blood pressure diabetes hyperthiroid asthma which you recomend?
Seeing that you've just gone through an invasive procedure it definitely wouldn't hurt to try naturally! Whatever choice you make you will be taking a step in the right direction :) Praying for you and hoping you see your BFP really soon
Just had it done this morning and without anesthetic. Everyone's different so if you feel you'd be comfortable with one..then ask for it. I wanted to see if I'd be ok without, and I've had period pains worse than that...so I was fine. The most uncomfortable thing is the speculum! And she put it in towards the end as she needed to get a sample out. I had saline water pumped instead of gas. I'd recommend the water as the gas for obvious reasons has you feeling bloated and gassy. After the procedure you can relax a bit and may feel some pain. I felt like I need to sit down. But to conclude the procedure looks scary but was finished quickly.
@@donnajacksunn489 so happy to hear what you ladies posted. I can get through some cramping discomfort, I just want to be prepared if it’s super painful.
Hey guys, I just found out today through my gynecologist that I have 2 endometrial polyps that need to be removed through hysteroscopy with resection of the polyps (this is in the Philippines). However, I am very conflicted as to what to decide because I live in NZ and they do MyoSure over there. I don't know which one is more effective in completely removing all the tissues. Any suggestions or similar experiences please let me know. Would appreciate your input. :)
Thanks for the video. I've got a gyno appointment on the 7th of next month, I'm 47 and have been bleeding/spotting since March. Ultrasound is good but I'm not sure what's going to happen at my appointment. Ideally I don't want a general anaesthetic because I've been cramping for so long and don't want more pain! Anyway, I had a look to see if you got pregnant and I'm so happy you had your baby boy. Absolutely delighted that you got your wish and I hope you and your family have a lifetime of happiness, good health, prosperity, love and abundance xxx
thank you so much for posting your experience . I found out yesterday after scans I have polyps im 27 and so scared but I'm so glad of found your video . a small sigh of relief x
I'm so glad everything went well for you and they were able to remove the polyp!!! I say try naturally for two months and then move on to IUI. That way you know you gave it a try, but aren't delaying treatment very long. Fx for you!
BabyHopes13 - Thank you, yes they removed a lot of gross fleshy tissue and polyps! I felt so cleaned out it was awesome. And yes, I believe we will try for a few months and see what happens! Thanks for your input!!
I had a symptom which pointed to a possible uterine polyp (through my own research). I then looked up what the procedure was and to my horror, I came across a bunch of stories of women in extreme pain. I then started to look into alternative medicine because I didn't want to go through with this procedure without anesthesia or sedation. My research led me to acupuncture. They do more than treat pain. They can treat many things (but not everything) including infertility, fibroids, acne, and I've read reviews on yelp of people getting treated for cancer and bell's palsy. In the end, my doctor said my symptom was possibly caused by stress but I still want to help other women who may have to do this procedure and urge you to look into acupuncture and other kinds of alternative medicine and therapies before submitting yourself to this torture. If you do go an alternative path then I would suggest getting a second ultrasound after trying out the alternative therapy for some time (you may have to do a few months of acupuncture before going in for the second ultrasound. It takes time for the acupuncture to heal your body). Also, some insurance plans do cover acupuncture.
I didnt look up the surgery before having so that helped me not be as nervous..but its not like your dying..im still doing acupuncture, but i wanted to make sure my uterus was 100% so this procedure eased my mind
Hi thanks for the video so helpful. I'm same age as you are how was your AMH (egg count) if it was good then try for couple of months if it was low then IUI. Been an emotional ride for me my insurance carrier sucks on a professional level.
Connie! Yay! I am so happy you had your procedure done and sounds like it went well. I definetly think you should try naturally for maybe two cycles. Hopefully that's all that you needed and now you'll get your BFP:)) I am praying for you hunny! Best luck!! XO
Babygoodwin - Thank You! My procedure went very well. I am so thankful for that! And thank you for your input! Sounds like the majority here is voting for trying naturally for a few months before doing IUI!! I think this is definitely the right way to go!! Thanks for your support!
I had a hysteroscopy, and after 2 hours of being under anesthesia, the iud is still stuck in my perforated cervix! Any idea what they'll do now? I dont have my next appointment until next week ! Help!
Hello everyone my name is hilah im getting surgery July 23 1030 am for my ovaries for getting the polyps off my ovary im so anxious and scared 😨 and nervous everyone please pray for me
So happy everything went well and they were able to remove your polyps! Think trying naturally for a few months would definitely be beneficial :). Also, your jaws reference just cracked me up. :)
Smbc33 - Haha, thanks girl! And that cutting tool was a trip! Seriously did look like a little shark going to town on my polyps! lol. Hope all is well with your pregnancy!
Imma G and this procedure had me sweating and i shed a tear..i def said ouch a few times as well..i felt pain and burning. I guess it depends on the doctor 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
So happy its over and all went well! I forgot about the weird cotton candy fiberous tissue stuff they removed from me as well. Such a different world it is inside the uterus, haha!! If you and your hubby dont have any other medical issues, then I say try natural using OPK's for a few months! Good luck & Baby dust!!
Trina Ward - Thanks girl!! Yes, we will try a few cycles naturally. I'm really hoping that removing those polyps made a difference. I really don't know how, if removing them even did anything to improve my fertility, but I'm really hoping so... We don't really have any other issues so please continue to keep me in your thoughts!
Had mines today after getting an endometrial ablation 5 years ago. It failed and caused hermatoma i was still getting my periods but the blood had no where to go. So it build up in my uterus cause excruciating labor pains during my period time. Yal i suffered for 5 years cause my old ob ignored me n only asked me to get a hysterectomy i declined so he only kept prescribing nsaids. I feel like he neglected me went to my new ob she automatically said let’s do a hysteroscopy. I’m hurt cause my old o/b made me suffer for years
I have just had one donne WITHOUT being offered any numbing shots or aneasthetic here in uk. please never allow them to do it without numbing cant begin to describe the pain
Has anyone had mild sedation and then a local anesthetic from having this procedure done? How did sedation feel? How did u feel after the procedure? Thank you x
Am so glad ur ok and doing well this video was a big help I have mines done tomorrow and am very serious and sacred but after this video I feel alot better knowing what am going through and what there doing to my body thank u so much for this I pray everyone who has had this surgery be ok and in good health afterwards....
i have a similar procedure in the next few days, this one is to remove my IUD from my fallopian tube. did you have to be put under anesthesia? my doctor said I need to have it done in Day Surgery and she wants me sedated "for my comfort" Im hoping I can change her mind and get the procedure done the same way as Connie.
Hi did you have to take antibiotics after your procedure ? I just had a Hysteroscopy and D and C and they removed a polyp gave me antibiotics I hate taking those things cause of side effects did you have any after? Love your video :)
They numbed me with just some lidocaine stuff but worked. They don't use big long needles to do it anymore. I had bad cramps during her removing the polyps but was not unbearable. I was ok after
Yay! Maybe this was your ticket to get pregnant. The polyps could've prevented a baby from sticking to your uterus so I'm so excited to see what happens now that everything is all clear. My personal opinion, I would try naturally for a cycle or two and then go to IUI if it doesn't work out. Praying for you girl !
Kendra B and RachieB15 - Thanks ladies! I really am hoping I will fall pregnant naturally so that I won't have to shell out all that $ for an IUI! I will give it a go for a few cycles so we'll see! Thanks for your support and encouragement!

Yep same here. Its just heavy cramping 10 min. Then done
I'm getting mine tomorrow I'm so scared
No way Jose. Doing the full deal for myself.
Had one yesterday. No numbing meds. I took 800 ibuprofen before hand. Was not bad at all. Its unconfortable but bearable. Its like a very small endoscopy scope. I think the speculum is the worst part
That is so good to hear. Some of these posts have me all worked up.
i WENT TO DAY TO HAVE MY POULP REMOVED BUT IT HURT EVEN WITH IT NUMB IN THE AREA SO THEY ARE PUTTING ME IN TO HAVE ME GO TO SLEEP LOL I AM SUCH A WIMP HAD MY BIOPSY DUN THAT COME BACK OK I JUST COULD NOT STAND THE STINGING LIKE YOU ARE AT A DENTIST
Was this all done in an office visit or more of a surgery like center & with the sedation for the removal of tissue and surgically breaking up any scar tissue? Did you get to watch it being done on a screen or anything like that?
What insurance covers this surgery. I need to get mines done but I need to find insurance.
I didn't get any anesthesia. It was painful. Youll feel cramps. However it doesn't last long. You will bleed. And have to wear a pad for few days
AliciaAMS - Thanks Alicia, I really appreciate it!! Please keep us updated on your FET!! You are in my thoughts and prayers!
AliciaAMS Q
I had the same procedure without anesthesia...worked out well, everything u said I agree with u
.Hope all is well🤗
@@donnajacksunn489 so happy to hear what you ladies posted. I can get through some cramping discomfort, I just want to be prepared if it’s super painful.
I went through the same thing, but i was under anesthesia and i had the worst experience ever.
Light Mummy5 what happened to you? I have one next week
I’m getting put a sleep tomorrow, wish me luck

Hi. We're you in much pain afterwards. I'm having this done to remove a fibroid
Suzanne I had this done recently for fibroids. How were your periods afterwards
Getting this done this Friday, absolutely terrified. But I’m getting put under for it I could never be awake for it!
Had mine done Friday and now I’m looking at my uterus clogging up with blood so I may need treatment but the procedure went well.
Did they give you any tranexamic acid to reduce blood clots and flow? That's what they gave me. Works.
If you do go an
alternative path then I would suggest getting a second ultrasound after trying out the alternative therapy for some time (you may have to do a few months of acupuncture before going in for the second ultrasound. It takes time for the acupuncture to heal your body). Also, some
insurance plans do cover acupuncture.
How long after did you have your second ultrasound? I suppose the findings were different from the first?
Help!
I'm assuming your in the USA, how much more would the procedure be with general anesthesia?
I'm scared...mine is next month
Me to dont fancy injections in there
Am getting my surgery for polyp removal soon hope to get pregnant after......thnx for sharing yo story

+Mama Yom please do you think it increase fertility
Thank you so much for doing this video it has helped me feel better about the procedure her in the uk they only do it while you are totally under
Imma G and this procedure had me sweating and i shed a tear..i def said ouch a few times as well..i felt pain and burning.
Thank you x
I didn't have sedation or local with my hysteroscopy and biopsy, but I can tell you I had no pain after procedure.
I had no sedation and no pain meds. Heavy cramping thats it. The cramping stops after they are done
I’m glad you are okay I’m freaking out I have to have one next week! So nervous! Lol.
Did your fertility doctor recommend taking birth control pills to thin the uterine wall in preparation of your hysteroscopy?
Mine did!! I’m nervous about this because I get migraines on BC. my procedure is in 2 weeks.
@@alevictoria12 how did your procedure go? I’m starting birth control tonight for my procedure soon
I had mines today I didn’t feel them. Just cramping
Im hoping i can get this procedure done soon
Hi how does it feel after having hysterocopy?
I had a hyseroscpy I had under anestic I’m still sore 1 and a half weeks later
Getting mine done in five days time 😢. Pls pray for me
dose it increase fertility please let us know ..?
Agree with Kendra! Thanks for this video- I haven't had one yet but it may be in my future! Good luck girlfriend!
Kendra B and RachieB15 - Thanks ladies! I really am hoping I will fall pregnant naturally so that I won't have to shell out all that $ for an IUI! I will give it a go for a few cycles so we'll see! Thanks for your support and encouragement!
Kendra Babyjourney
I just got it done
what did they have you take before the procedure?
Have a baby try for 3or 4 mos and see what happens and then iui
