💕 Thanks for watching! So, always hindsight (really, “editing sight”) is 20/20 so here are some updates that I didn’t include: - #1- I completely forgot a pen that I acquired at the very beginning of March, the Pilot 823 with a fine nib in Amber; I was able to get that one for a super great deal during another Atlas Experienced Pen Sale. - #2- I didn’t mention ANYYYYTHING about inks and they are definitely a part of the low buy. I’ve been giving away samples quite a bit and have only intentionally brought in 10 samples and 2 bottles of ink (there have been a couple that have come with pens and/or sent to me). - #3- Update on the M800/M1000 “juicy situation”: literally the day after filming this, ‘my local pen dealer’/Joel offered to switch me the M800 and M1000 Medium nibs for EF nibs. I have decided to keep the M600 as a Mediu
I have never seen that color of vanishing point before, and I normally don't like thow the vanishing point looks, but man it is beautiful in that matte green.
All beautiful, I’m not surprised that there were a lot of “I just had to”-moments! Have fun with all these beauties! And I’ll gladly take all the gusher nibs/pens from Joel!
Thanks! I love it 💙I got it second hand with a pen but the seller let me know recently that it was purchased from Etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/268829009/cherry-fountain-pen-display-holds-10?variation0=3006871288
Thanks for sharing your pens, they are beautiful. I do have a question, you mentioned that you sold some of your pens. I would love to buy some at a better price than new new new price. I’m just starting out and I only have a few myself. But other than eBay, Mercari or Poshmark, I have no idea where to look to find pens to purchase. Can you share some ideas? Thanks!
I just found your channel! I'd love a video about the pens you sold. I haven't yet explored the B/T/S world of stationery supplies. It intimidates me a little bit. I'm also interested in the Caffe TWISBI. Do you have a nib recommendation? I already have 3 in an (f) nib but am thinking of branching out.
I was a little scared too and just dipped a toe in and then… I don’t know, something about the stationery/pen community for the most part is very wholesome- people take care of their things so I’ve had good luck. For the TWSBI nib, my favorites are the fine and funny enough, their stub is my favorite of all the other stubs I’ve tried. It’s forgiving and small/ rounded enough for everyday writing! And yay! Glad you stumbled upon the channel :)) 💕 welcome welcome.
my problem with the matte finish vanishing points is that the matte finish does not last. i have the matte black one, and a few years of light use at work as my signing-documents pen has made it shiny, just from oils from my hand, i guess. i would be bummed to spend the money for one of the special edition matte ones like your taiwanese anniversary one and have that happen. i worry the same thing will happen to my matte lamy dialog cc, which i use more frequently. i think i'll stay away from matte finishes in the future, personally.
Oh wow! I haven’t heard this one. Thats super disheartening and something I’ll definitely have to keep an eye out for going forward- I guess on the bright side…(especially with the couple of matte ones I have), they will indeed look loved and used at the end of it all, haha.
Hey! It’s one I got second hand but it’s from Etsy I learned: www.etsy.com/listing/268829009/cherry-fountain-pen-display-holds-10?variation0=3006871288
Am I wrong to say that every time you mentioned how a pen was inked, I longed to see you write with the pen? I guess my brain is just trained to see a pen and then see it write, even though that isn't the point of this video!😁
That Winter White really came at the wrong time. I had heard rumors that it would be released in May/June, then BAM, it was available, and I had to have it. No regrets!! 😅
They were really playing with my emotions with that pen release 🤣🤣 - I’m gonna need these folks to let us know a little earlier to make sure my finances (and wishlist at large) are in order lol
Oh fun! I wish I could do both of them back to back but I definitely don’t have it like that 😭 - hope you have a fabulous time at the supershow; it’s gonna be amazinggg!
How are you finding the EFF? I have it and it's nothing like what I had hoped. Hard starts, railroads, stopping in the middle of a sentence and very little flex. Is it just me?
Very little flex- like, non-existent. I haven’t had many hard starts or anything severe but I am finding it hard to find ink pairings that I like the experience of (that goes for several of my jowo flex/elastic nibs)
@@julia-here So, I just couldn't stand it any more so I reached out to Esterbrook. Within 24 hours they put a different nib in the mail for me! I couldn't believe it. No return necessary. They were so nice about the whole thing. 🤍
I recall a Clara (?) in Florida who started the hobby last year, and accumulated 300 pens, so in comparison, everyone is in a low buy, lol. Just use what you have for content.
Not even trolling, is a 'low buy' when you tell yourself you're going to buy less stuff ... but it's a complete lie and you just buy all the things anyhow? If so ... that's my life!
Haha! I think typically that is the challenge, right? For this one, I have hard rules and soft rules written down that I check back in on monthly; I have a pretty intense spreadsheet I call my “stationery wallet” and I, at least up until April, only had that much money to put down on anything. I will say although it’s been tough, it’s made me get rid of things I’ve been sitting on and not using/enjoying; I’ve passed on things that I 100% would have purchased without the low buy and therefore really eye opening when it comes to what I actually like, what I’m actually keeping.. etc. I didn’t think you were trolling at all- solid question I say! 😊

It’s so lovely in the matte green! I’ve seen it in a glossy green/gold too, and I just don’t feel the same about it.
All beautiful, I’m not surprised that there were a lot of “I just had to”-moments! Have fun with all these beauties! And I’ll gladly take all the gusher nibs/pens from Joel!
Thank you!! I absolutely will have some fun.
And yes, he’s definitely got a surplus of them now 😂
The pen tray looks gorgeous! Where did you get it from?

@@julia-here thank you! I am thinking of going to Stationery Fest too!
Oh yay! I hope to see you there! It sounds like it’s about to be a blast!
@@julia-here I think so, too. I'm excited but nervous about getting there as well as attending solo

Wow! A pen with a wood body! That’s impressive and gorgeous.
She really challenged herself it seems, haha- and turned out super classy! ☺️
Who makes that pen tray ?

Not wrong at all! It’s SO hard not to make the longest videos ever and just write with all the things! 💕
Your new pens are gorgeous!
Thank you!! They actually look like they belong to the same human.. which never seems to happen with any of my things haha! ☺️💕

That's a good reason to be in the red! 😍 Glad you got to trade your pelikan nibs for EF. I'll watch whatever you put out :)
I died laughing because they are still super juicy even at an extra fine! I love um 😭💕 - and thank you so much! That just hyped me up lol

i'm not a Pelikan fan in general...but that WHITE ON WHITE. That is a beauty.
Pelikan got that JUICE 💦😅
Fun pens! Just FYI, according to Nahvalur, the name is still pronounced Narwhal. The spelling has changed, but the pronunciation hasn't.
Oh interesting! That I didn’t know- how strange.. thanks for the info! 💕

Your low buy makes me feel less bad about my low buy. 😏
