It’s really cold here (in Texas so take that for what you will LOL) so I’m rewatching your Yard Geek videos. I love seeing a blank space transformed into something like this. Great job! Edited to add: any time you run sprinkler lines, label each valve at the valve box with a tag or tape or whatever will hold up in the elements. Future you (and future owners) will really appreciate it.
Mitch…you are probably one of the most organized and methodical people I’ve ever seen. You are truly an inspiration on how to do something the right way. It’s a joy to see your projects come to fruition. Stay well!!!
It sure don't seem like 4 years! I remember when you said you had a big surprise in store for all your viewers. Gosh, doesnt time absolutely fly !!! I must say that you've done so well thus far. Don't give up! Your own little piece of country will be so valuable in the way of flora and fauna, trees, ... the list is endless. I'm so proud of you and happy for you, to have your dreams come to fruition ( some of mine were stopped due to hubby's health ). Best of luck, Mitch. Keep on keeping on. ❤❤❤
I agree wholeheartedly with you. I remember the announcement. It has been a pleasure and honour to watch you achieve all your accomplishments and share it with us. Thanks Mitch for inspiring all of us to achieve our goals and dreams…and learning some cool things along the way 😅
A week of 10 hour days!? Wow! Thank goodness for people like you because I'm definitely a porch princess. I make great refreshments and snacks though so I'm not unhelpful 😅. Cheers to your project coming along nicely 🥂
Dude you are a beast! If anyone has ever tried to use hose clamps like that and chose the manual crimpers, bruh! Incredible grip strength sir! You have my respect!!!!
Today you presented us with two extremely satisfying videos. Thanks so much for this, Mitch. And please tell Mike we want to see him do the hard work too.
So fun seeing you getting closer to having a beautiful yard. Im surely learning a lot. Be sure that you pace yourself because you want aviod "burnout" and avoid injury.
Amazing work Mitch 🌳🌳🌳 And remember - "weeds" are just plants that naturally thrive in your area. Many of them will bloom and create structure and diversity to your view. My best tip is don't fight them, but guide them or overpower them. Meaning leave some zones wild, and others more controlled. And plant things that overpower or overshadow weeds in select zones. Less to manage, and makes for a more exciting landscape 🌼
Mitch, I am really impressed with your work ethic. You certainly aren't afraid of hard work! Your efforts now are going to reward you handsomely in the future. I look foward to seeing what else you have in store for the rest of your massive yard in the years to come 😊👍
I was glad to see you using emitters around your trees and shrubs. Years ago when I installed irrigations home owners would want us to use rotors to water the trees over time that causes damage, we always said imagine watering your trees with a pressure washer lol
Oh that was so fascinating. I LOVE how you explain why you're doing things and how they fit into your plans for this property. So if I understand it correctly, there is both an electric line that goes to these junction boxes as well. Are they controlled by that electric connection to then the main controller in the studio? And the water lines converge in the box so they can distribute water to individual planted areas. This is very cool. Must be comparable to how they do the irrigated lawns that rich people have for lawns. What we used to call a "sprinkler system". At the end I was chanting "throw the switch, turn that baby on". But I know you still have a bit to do there. Great update Mitch. This was so much fun. Truly a crowning achievement when this project is done. Have a great weekend! Thanks for this! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Yippee!! Joel, You are here. No wonder Mitch keeps busy man to work his LOVE on the yard. I can't imagine how stunning is the yard. Have a nice day and an enjoyable weekend.
Yep exactly! The main controller will open up each of the valves to water each tree line! It’s also got wifi so I can schedule and control everything from my phone 😎 Can’t wait to see how many leaks I have though when I turn it on 🤣🤣🤣 Have a great weekend Joel!!
Wow Mitch! I just know once you’re done and the trees have grown in more and there is grass it’s going to look so beautiful!! What a beautiful life you are making for yourself ❤
This video is absolutely so very very SATISFYING to watch. Great job all around. With filming to the work and to your yard design and even the so "KEWL" music !!! Thank you lot's! 👍👍 2 thumbs up 😉
Mitch, you are a true visionary. How you think about, plan for, and execute the largest projects down to the smallest of details is really incredible. Thank you for bringing us along on this journey with you! Praying God’s blessings over you and your property!
Love the channel and I'm glad you put something new out. I saw a comment below about the ground being frozen in Canada during winter. I hadn't even thought of that as a reason there wasn't much content lol. Anyway, glad you're back and looking forward to what's next!
This was amazing. I find the whole process of cultivating your acreage fascinating and I especially enjoyed your latest acquisition. Good luck on your journey. I’m looking forward to more Yard Geek videos .
All I have to say is I wish I could do something like this in my yard...this is going to be amazing once all the work is done and the trees grow. When I was 5, my grandma and I planted mugo pines all around our yard to act as a privacy wall and bird habitat. We also planted some blue spruce and lilacs and some other flowering bushes. Now that I'm an adult, my trees are 20 feet tall for the mugo pines, my blue spruce are 30+ feet tall; and with the lilacs and other flowering bushes it's a haven for bees, birds, rabbits, and I've even seen bobcat and foxes in my yard. It's sooooo cool!!!
Wow! What an incredible project you work correctly the irrigation system, effectively sprinkling water for whole plants and trees. Your acre will be stunning when your project is successfully done. Hope you have a great weekend. 😊❤️❤️
Mitch really is building a beautiful place to live. All the plants in the yard and the new house. Now he just needs those trees and plants to grow. Glad you're on this journey Cynthia. Mitch must love berries. He's planting a lot of them. 🍓🪴☘🍓🍒
Your work ethic, dedication, blood, sweat, and tears that you put into everything you do is just unlike anything I’ve ever seen and such and inspiration. Can’t wait to see the final results! 👏🏻💪🏻🚜🌳🏡❤
If you haven’t yet done so, I recommend making an extension to your home plumbing map to include your irrigation system. It will make your life so much easier many years down the road, or for whoever might end up buying / inheriting your place in the future.
Absolutely great idea! I’ve actually done this will all the houses I’ve built….measured where everything was and took pictures, etc. it’s come in handy a few times!
I’m very impressed with your plans for your acreage and even more impressed with the work you’ve put into your home. I know that it’s going to end up exactly how you want it, you never settle for anything less than perfect. Great work Mitch. PS- l love those wide open Saskatchewan skies, so beautiful!
The compressor to blow out the water lines for winter must be huge. The one that comes to do my system here in southern Manitoba is on a trailer, that said, they blow out a few zones at a time as opposed to one by one.
I didn't know you build a house too. That is awesome how you got this plan out. This is amazing to see how it's all coming together. Great Job Mitch!!!!
This is a very interesting plan unlike anything I've seen . it's interesting to see it turning into actual results.. I'm starting to understand what and why your doing it..
Wow Mitch, this blows my mind! I must say you are go getter!!! You have saved yourself thousands of dollars doing all this yourself. I know it took weeks of planning , buying supplies and just plane hard work. When I was younger ,I could go like that ,but 70 years young ,those days are behind me. We should be amazed and encouraged to get out there and do something !!
My third time watching this yard geek video. I like to watch them multiple times since I can imagine how much work goes into these videos. Setting up shots and cameras, moving the cameras dozens of times, filming, editing, then voiceover so it all makes sense and is clear. I am curious as to how many if any of the joins do actually leak. I am thinking that not many since you seem to be very careful. Love that you got 2 new toys and like any man, you have to try them right away to see how they work. I wouldn't have been able to resist either. Amazing work ethic and superb results. I really like the choker you're wearing at the end with the conversation. Is that from Hawaii? Or California? Have a great day, Thanks for all you do Mitch!! 💜💜💜💜
Finally I have time to watch this. It's going to be glorious once finished but in the meantime will keep you healthily occupied. Thanks for uploading good content. Have a great day everyone!
Dang brother. Is there anything you can't do? What's your background? You seem to be a perfectionist by nature and dang good at what ever it is your taking on. From detailing absolute disasters to this homestead your doing, just wow bro. Great work! Great content! Lifelong subs for me.
Mitch, you’re a beast for such a young kid your channels filming editing plus all the work you’re doing is amazing. My question is you don’t have to have the irrigation pipe down farther into the ground for freezing.? I’m in California so we never have to worry about it but I thought you had to go a certain amount of inches just asking other than that amazing your property your shop everything you’re doing you’re incredible young man and I bought a lot of product and I’ve started my Golf Cart patio furniture and once in a while, car detailing just for fun make extra money cash not really a business
When I watch these videos I can only imagine how much you’re going to enjoy your grown up property with your family once you’re older 😊
I think he is single for many years now
You are the Jack of all trades.

A chair at the back of the property on a clear day watching the sunset would be on a whole other level of inner peace 🤗
Yes!
A week of 10 hour days!? Wow! Thank goodness for people like you because I'm definitely a porch princess. I make great refreshments and snacks though so I'm not unhelpful 😅.
Cheers to your project coming along nicely 🥂

Way to go man. Get it done while you’re young.
Thank you!
It would be great to have a tour of your new house. It's nearly as big as your shop.
Dude you are a beast! If anyone has ever tried to use hose clamps like that and chose the manual crimpers, bruh! Incredible grip strength sir! You have my respect!!!!
