More than 77% of soviet people voted for preservation of USSR in 1991. All the three Slavic republics(the core of the USSR), all 5 central Asian republics and Azerbaijan voted for preservation of the union. But Yeltsin dissolved it illegally.

This is a nice cover, but it's kind of disappointing how a proletarian icon like Lenin has been sanitised in popular media to the point that they're sung about as a "Russian national" hero on privately-owned TV stations for game shows.
I mean Lenin *is* Russian, and he kinda lead the nation against an international coalition which he *arguably* won. In other country, that alone would cement him as national mythos, like Ataturk.
I don't blame them, if your leader beats an international coalition of France, Britain, America and with a lot of enemies, it definitely makes sense he is sometimes treated as a National Hero, just look at Mustafa Kemel Ataturk, he defeated Britain, France, Italy, and Greece in the Turkish War of Independence and was given the title Ataturk in honor of how he led Turkey to victory, If I'm not wrong, when Ataturk died, everyone in Turkey mourned his death.

I wish it was that. It was a prime example of revisionism in culture. The composition, but especially the lyrics. No mention of the enemy, just vague notions of truth and goodness without concrete steps and mention of the revolutionary subject.
Роман Пахомов Check out the early songs of the Russian civil war, look up the revolutionary songs of Brecht and Eisler. There‘s a clear difference there. Those songs were motiviational, uplifting as well and were, most importantly, generating revolutionary spirit. But they were clear in who the fighting force is, that it‘s a struggle of class vs. class, that there are concrete enemies that need to be fought: bankers, industrial capitalists, political and military forces. The music and lyrics reflected the revolutionary spirit. Even Capitalist parasites could sing this song, just because you throw the name Lenin into things doesn’t make it revolutionary (even though Lenin was without a doubt one of the greatest revolutionaries of human history).
