I was worried about that as well when I got my cot. I purchased “rubber furniture caster cups” from Amazon and they do a great job of protecting the tent floor. 😎👍
The issue is not the feet, it's the surface you've put the tent on... and that is why you have a separate groundsheet for protection. If the groundsheet gets torn up, you simply replace that. As for the pegs, it's not about brute force... If the ground is that hard you need to change the spot you're trying to put them in to, not force them.

I put tape or similar on the actual tent where the feet of my cot sit then it’s resting on the tape not the thin tent material
That good idea maybe so duck tape. I don’t want to keep making holes in the tent.
take cork coasters... 1cm thick... cheap and efective
