Bought this game when it first released. Spent hours creating a Boston Bruins logo for the hood and then was amazed seeing the logo appear on billboards as I got farther into the game. What a great racer and so much deeper than Ridge Racer at the time.
I remember getting shocked out of nowhere seeing my hood designs on some of the billboards in the game after Class 1 myself. For some reason, there's a glitch in my copy of the game that only displays the hood art when it wants to, LOL.
Was about 25 years old when played this in the 90s been in to consoles and computers since 1981 loved it still do and loving gt7 now in 2022 long live the programmers and talented people who have given me enjoyment over the last 50 years good on ya
LYRICS: Played 'em bop n i played 'em bop n i played 'em bop - and I bobbered the beat! It says, Played 'em bop n i played em bop n i dropped n i bopped the.. ...drop the jam!
If you have this game disc you can play the music as an audio in any CD player, just skip track 1 (which is the game data). At least, I know you can with the PAL version. I've done it. Unfortunately it wasn't my disc and I didn't know how to rip a CD at the time.
This is accurate, it's quite funny getting in the car, pulling the Rage Racer disk out and popping it in the player, I always get the funniest looks then amazement when the music starts. Long live the Playstation.
I used to record video-game music from CD-ROM games to cassette tapes long before the technology for making bootleg CDs and then MP3s from albums existed myself.
This still does and will allways rock. Damn, remembering this game with the Supercharger whining in the Lizard machines and the howl of the Lizard Hijack. Goosebumps.
I'm 47 and I still love this soundrack and yes for those with the weird looks f$%^& them! music never has an expiration date! You listen what you like! ;)
I was 5 when playing Rage Racer and the graphics were mind blowing I'm 31 now, I could not believe it, I originally was playing on a C64, the step up in technology back then was phenomenal to me.
*Grade them not gonna grade them not gonna grade them not gonna not gonna not gonna not gonna grade them not gonna grade them not gonna grade them not gonna not a chance*
This game got me into jungle, breakbeat, dnb, etc before I even knew the words to describe it
Same bro
You aren't alone there in that situation.
Amen brother 🔥
Amen Break in songs are amazing
That snare for the first tune ouch 😎
This game was addictive... i spend the whole summer of 1997 playing it... spent countless hours upgrading cars , colors flags etc... good times :)
Great year, this, SF3, Tekken 3, Goldeneye, FF7 and Symphony of the Night.

22 years later I'm still looking for the lyrics to this banging jam...
I'm 38 by the way and still rock out to this soundtrack.

Gabriel Howard As you should, Gabriel. As you should. If there is one thing Namco's sound studio did well, it was building great driving tunes.
SO GLAD I'm not the only one.
One of the best soundtracks I've ever heard
Gabriel Howard I have to agree also :)
Gabriel Howard the intro has that killer low note

Sound so recent for me .. what a good song !
0:47 The sample was used in the first Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer 2.
Also the break that starts at 0:06 is from The Chorus Line by Ultramagnatic MC's.
Okay. Who knows where they sampled the vocal because the rewind version has this lowered for corpyright issues
For those with subs. Play the intro. It thumps
Ricordi di un infanzia passata....😍
