UNDERRATED.... Amazing Song
I agree
Not by me :-)
Unbelievable. Billingham genius.
I will love it for ever!
Increíble 👏👏👏👏🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
Best feeling when u finally find that song u were looking for ages
ist 2020 and the flashbacks are REAL!
Might be my favourite song ever. The lyrics are so clever & hit me straight in the feels.
This song pops into my head from time to time, there's something incredible about it that I can't put my finger on
‘’The weight of your kiss seemed ambiguous’’
What a line
Only heard this gem this morning, listening to them all day ....unreal 👏
Underrated band in my opinion but music changes so fast these days
singer has a punchable face though
Always remember seeing a poster for a gig at Uni mid 2000's with Maximo Park for £7.50, glanced it, walked past, didn't go in, regret it every time I listen to them
I’ve rediscovered this song after 13 years... Brings all the feels! Amazing lyrics, melodic tune. Fantastic voice and accent, just perfect! Once saw them in Montreal, many moons ago... now I would go back and relive again and again.
This song reminds me of childhood so much, remember this tune being played on the radio every morning before school.
Makes me feel nostalgic for the mid to late 2010's.😢
I discovered this band in 2016. They are incredible with those poetic lyrics and catchy melodies. This song always touches my heart in a very different way. That feeling cannot be expressed. I am really thankful for this band💌
"Why does every let down have to be so thin?"💓
LOVE that beautiful Newcastle accent from the lead singer!! Keep it up!
This is still fire in 2024🔥
It's so weird, Maximo Park just bring back memories...vague memories. I don't know why though!
nostalgia
nostalgia of what?
Because their lyrics are unbelievable. If not genuine nostalgia, just sheer relation to the words.
spotify randomly had this in one of my daily mixes, it was the first time I heard this since 2009 or ‘10. my best friend at the time gave me a mix cd for christmas and this was the first song!
now i’m hooked, it takes me way back to my teenage years ❤️
@@puccini4 the smiths maybe? This is basically a song performed in their style. The lead guitar has Johnny Marr's influence written all over it, not to mention a set of brooding lyrics
When I discovered this band a few years ago, I thought I might have overlooked it in the 80’s when obsessed with INXS, REM and the like. Mixes great with fine pop rock of that era and draws heavily from that influence. Never tire of it, great energy and lyrics.
This album literally changed my life, went to Northumbria uni in 2007 thru clearing pretty much because of how much i was into this band!
We saw them Freevolution festival in Newcastle in 2007, absolutely incredible. Were you there?
Heard this song yesterday in a small cafe in Dublin ❤ didn’t thought of this song for such a long time! Now it’s on my playlist 😍 Loved it back then and still do!
Never thought you could make a song about spending evenings unpacking books from boxes. But they did it.
Remember when this band first came out, great band and this song still gives me shivers and I'm 50yrs old now. Love them.
always a big fan of this band as they hail from my part of the uk but this is by far their best tune - so poignant
its impossible to sit still during this song.
Bill Smith Yet, somehow I managed to do it.
Found my old skate playlist from when I was like 14 and it had maximo park in it 😭 nostalgia hitting hard
Please share your playlist or offer suggestions❤❤🥺
This is amazing. I'm on my 24th replay.
Love song for a long lost friend. Time passes and you grow apart, but it's hard without a break up, there is no closure. We would've gone to a Maximo Park concert back in 2012, but decided not to, can't remember why.
Love this song, will be watching and listening to this for years to come....
I found this completely by accident cause my speech to text auto corrected to this, and honestly I'm not disappointed. This is awesome
Just wondering, what was the original search?
Saw them live with a friend of mine 15 odd years ago who recently passed away. This one is for you Andy Buchanan - always remembered
Underrated and under appreciated band!
Probably better to be that way, not sell-out, just the music is appreciated. No egos, no "celeb status"...if I had a modicum of their talent I'd want it to be like that.
They're such an amazing band. First listenend to them back in 2005 when I was living in Newcastle. Love them.
Love this song. The chorus is such fun to sing along.
this song never gets old
Oh dear.. my youth right there right here, Instant flashbacks hearing this iconic song. But sooo long 😱
Beautiful song.
My absolute favourite live, Paul Smith is such a joy to see on stage.
[Verse 1]
Night falls
And towns become circuit boards
We can beat the sun as long as we keep moving
From the air
Stadium lights stand out like flares
And all I know is that you're sat here right next to me
We rarely see
Warning signs in the air we breathe
Right now I feel each and every fragment
This paper trail leads right back to you…
You say you need me to step outside
[Chorus]
You spent the evening unpacking books from boxes
You passed me up so as not to break a promise
Scattered polaroids and sprinkled words around your collar
In the long run, you said you knew that this would happen
[Verse 2]
This is something new
But it turns out it was borrowed, too
"why does every letdown have to be so thin?"
Rain explodes
At the moment that the cab door closed
I feel the weight upon your kiss; ambiguous
You have to leave. I appreciate that
But I hate when conversation slips out of our grasp
[Chorus]
You spent the evening unpacking books from boxes
You passed me up so as not to break a promise
Scattered polaroids and sprinkled words around your collar
In the long run, you said you knew that this would happen
[Bridge](x2)
Two bodies in motion
This is a matter of fact
It wasn't built to last
[Chorus]
You spent the evening unpacking books from boxes
You passed me up so as not to break a promise
Scattered polaroids and sprinkled words around your collar
In the long run, you said you knew that this would happen
[Outro]
The pounding rain continued it's bleak fall
And we decided just to write after all
After all
The pounding rain continued it's bleak fall
And we decided just to write after all
DjSk3tch Thanks you
That was long

I was sixteen when this came out, and now I'm stuck here listening to them, it brings so many flashbacks. Such a nice feeling
My greatest band discovery on 2019
Saw these guys live. Amazing.
Memories from 2007, Maximo Park! Went to see them in December 2007. Good times, was 19 back then
I'm still giving it a listen every now and then, mainly cos they used to practice in our kitchen, but also there's some damn good tunes in there.
After all these years, this song is still so underrated !!!! You need to love it :-)
