I love when Sina plays Cross-Stick (originally from Reggae Music) it has made its way into rock music since Ringo Starr - it is such a memorable sound in the many sounds of a Drum Kit - very good song - reminded me of "American Pie"(1971)🔥❤🥁

Beautifully written and composed, this song was quite an exquisite treat and what an amazing performance by all the old gang with a new contributor Mat. Folk with a touch of rock provided by Sina who also knows how to feather the cymbals to create a depth of feeling for the song. Folk music for me is the perfect genre to speak to the challenges of our time (and hasn't it always been?) and I am elated to hear it now, with this song & this amazing group of musicians.

I like Sina’s perfect versatility in drumming. She can play any style and support whoever she’s living the music with. If she is with you, you’ll never fail😊 That’s what makes her so exceptional and unique. As to Mat, he seems to be a nice hearty fellow with a positive down to earth philosophy and it reflects in his music. It’s full of warm feelings and great music played by the best possible co-musicians. I’m def going to listen to more of his music. Finally, as to the concept of lighthouse, it’s been haunting me since I read the Moomin book about the Lighthouse island as a child, and it was only last July that I finally spent two days on one lighthouse island, Isokari, offshore Finnish coast. It was a fulfillment. I recommend. Hey, I’m not the only one, Pete Townshend worked on his long lasting Lighthouse project for decades. Somebody, tell me what’s so charming about them, plz. Thanks to Mike, Sina, Mat and the whole crew for this gift 😊
Excellent. Very interesting and moving lyrics, and a drum partition full of elements that I like a lot. The guitar accompaniement is fantastic and it is likely that I'll try some guitar solo of my own to enjoy the song again and again in a next future. Long live this song, and may Sina's wrist provide good news again.

Mike, Thank you for sharing this video. All of you did a really great job. It is really great to see all of the different styles of music, that Sina does. Sina is a very talented musician, as great as Sina's musical talents are, Sina is by far a lot greater person. Sina always helps, works with and promotes others. Sina is always down to earth, humble, modest, sweet, loving, kind, caring, polite, respectful, thankful, hardworking, and dedicated.
Simply love it ... infinitely wonderful ... certainly different. And as for the production side, I was quite surprised to see the grip switch part way through and then back again a bit later - flawless splicing. Dear Sina, I truly hope your damaged wrist issue is long gone and forgotten in the rearview mirror. As a totally dedicated fan, I only wish you would have opened up with us about the pain you were going through much earlier. There are those of us out here in the world who have had a lot of experience with similar injuries of that nature and their causes, who could have pointed you in the right direction to a cure a long time ago. But ... I'm also a firm believer in the old adage ... all is well that ends well. Best wishes to you always. As both a musician and a person, you are truly, truly amazing.

Hi Mike, sorry about the late response but I had to dwell on this for quite some time before I could comment. First off I want to thank you ever so much for providing such an eye and ear opening facet in the ever increasing talent of not only Sina but yourself and that of Mat Williams whose music is so very soothing to listen to!! I for one love Folk music very much since there is almost always a subtle message behind each and every one! As a matter of fact, I pretty much love all music with the exception of 'OPERA' a genre I simply can't listen to or even watch!! I also want to commend Sina on her excellent Drumming demonstration in the song "The Light House" hell for that matter everyone involved did a very fine job in it's production!! Once again thank you so much for yet another brief glimpse into the magical world of Sina Drums and Mike Wilbury!!! YOU TWO ARE SIMPLY THE BEST!!
Great song, great voice, great drummer! They say whilst a bad drummer may ruin a band, a great drummer might not 'make' the band. Perhaps there are exceptions, though...
Depends on the music. Rush wouldn’t be Rush without Peart, but most rock/pop isn’t served well with a busy drum part. Many drummers over-play because they’re bored and that doesn’t serve the song well. I’ve absolutely been guilty of that myself, for example playing in church bands where the songs are extremely simple and the biggest challenge for the drummer is not falling asleep.

This made me listen to "Ages Of Man" again, perhaps for the first time in 3-4 years, and the drums are brilliant, and so are the drums on The Lighthouse. I like the message in the song, but I do not share the optimism.

I have been following Sina for 10 years now, and ALWAYS enjoy everything she (and you) grace us with on RUclips. Is there the possibility of a vinyl album any time in the future? I collect vinyl albums, and would love to add something from Sina to my collection. I'm one of the older fans that started out with vinyl, then cassette tapes, then 8 tracks, some CDs and when it came to downloading and streaming, I stopped and concentrated on vinyl again. I like to be able to hold what I buy in my hands. 🤷🏼♂ Anyway, thank you again for this video and the info behind it. It will be added to my "Sina" playlist on my RUclips page.
