- This week I review a James Tyler Studio Elite HD guitar, it's one made in the USA. It's hollow and and the finish is arctic mint schmear!!

Yep I love that guitar Tom, its my favourite colour and it sounds great, I've seen you play it many times it looks and feels like quality instrument. Nice playing by the way 😊

Would you go with a James tyler or fender custom shop? I have a 59 reissue strat and les Paul but was really curious about the James tyler. Thanks
Both great guitars, but my Custom Shop Strat is my favourite. I'm not keen on having a humbucker on a strat, I prefer to have on or the other!

What guage of plectrums and strings are you using ?
Think I've got 9s on here for a change....but usually 10s. Switched to medium picks from extra heavy!
I want to like these guitars but the headstock reminds of those foam fingers you see at football games in America. Sorry lol.
It is a strange shape...I really wasn't sure when I got mine.......I don't really notice it any more!

Thanks for the review. Ive always wondered about these guitars. Tried one years ago, but the cost was too high and I admit, I wasnt blown away enough to justify it. Do you think the mid boost is very useable? Seems to boost low mids more than anything, so I'm not sure how useful that is in practice. I have an old `USA strat, standard, not HSS, but I'm probably more tempted by some of the HSS Suhrs. I didnt realise these Tylers were now £7k new... wow!
I never use the mid-boost I must admit. I think it is a fantastic guitar.....I do like a Fender though!
