- Don the Terror Mask, a powerful supernatural artefact, to battle horrific, monstrous foes and save the day against cosmic horrors.
To note, this is a series which revelled in it's reputation as a violent, arcade beat 'em up in it's horror setting. That stated, this is for fans of supernatural horror with over the top violent gameplay.
The "Splatterhouse 3D" total conversion mod offers this beat' em up as a first person experience of great quality, having simple gameplay though still offering an entertaining challenge. This mod features three episodes, composed of six levels each, each being based upon the original three games of the original series respectively.
These maps are atmospheric, certainly belonging to the horror genre with the ghoulish decorative sprite items found throughout with an effective ambient soundtrack included. Additionally, all the weapons, items and enemies are series accurate.

Level completion screen uses music from House by the Cemetary. An old Italian horror movie that served as the main inspiration for arcade Splatterhouse + it's soundtrack 😎👍
on a similar note, the episode end theme is from Manhattan Baby, another italian horror flick. Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed Splatterhouse's italian horror music influence.
@mikemacdee6390 - Now I wanna see that movie, too! Thanks for the added info. I've always loved Splatterhouse's arcade and TurboGrafx-16 soundtracks. It blew me away to learn about how influential House by the Cemetary + Italian horror was to Splatterhouse's creation, over 3 decades later 👍👍

I remember playing an older version, in which they still used the classic music from said 16-bit games.
An official Splatterhouse reimagined as a first person beat em up would be pretty cool.
Make it could take notes from the Condemned Series.
Anyway, this looks meaty and fun.

A combo of two quality games!
One of my favorite doom mods, just love the atmosphere. Only problem is last time I played it, a teleporter on the final map was broken, and I never finished it.
I recall playing a first-person _Splatterhouse_ fan game a long time ago. It played a lot like this, but was slower paced and enemies died in one hit like in the original game. In fact, I just checked on my backup SSD and I still have it, but it doesn't seem to launch on Win10.
And what do you know? It was made by the same author of this mod!

Good ol' Hexen.....I see some modders prefer this to Doom mods.....same engine don't exactly know why. Recently played Hexen: Veil of Darkness.....I dare say it is just as good as the original was back then. Nice upload!

@@bothatguyyoudontknow To this day my favorite Build engine game is Blood. I have it on original CD, I torrented it, I got it to work with Glide...I think I would be a worse person if I had never played that gem. I spent hours just to hear the original soundtrack without using a CD drive.....the song Father Time still haunts me to this day 🙂 Luckily we have titles like Cultic, Reverend, Satan, Bloodshed, Dead Trash....all clearly inspired by Blood 1.

@Szederp Likewise, I'm still avidly invested in DOOM/DOOM 2 on the PS5 lol no matter how many times I've played them growing up it's still my go to games in a sea of carbon copies.

@@U42R The protagonist girlfriend changes into monster... - so we didnt manage to save her - dont remember what episode was that...
That was the first one, in the sequel she is saved.

@@michael3k80 It's split over three episodes, each having six levels. Each episode is based on one of the original Splatterhouse titles.
That bat is frankly disappointing compared to those beefy (and veiny) punches and kicks.
It's best for swarming enemies with the reach and ability to hit multiple enemies per attack.
Will this be available for console mod selection?
