My husband and I are team drivers and we own our truck and trailer and good paying loads are hard to find.

Yup. When she mentioned it I already knew it’s robbery. I worked delivery furniture gross 7000 after truck fuel etc etc my helper made more then me and I was the owner 😂.

@ the end of 4 years the truck has a boatload of miles on it, & since the truck idles during non-driving hours, this equates to significant accumulative engine wear. After 4 years, maintenance/replacement costs escalate exponentially 💯

You know back when rates were sky high I kept telling folks better save your money don't be going buying those big ticket items cause they are gonna fall..
Then I know a guy that went out and bought 3 trucks..meaning lease purchases..he's having trouble putting food on the table for his family...
I'm glad you ladies are smart enough to hang it up.. when rates are come up..probably 2 ..3 years...just maybe...
When many had money they blew it 😒 never saved...😢many will go bankrupt...just my opinion...to many trucks big companies...many loads..but not rite prices for owner operator's...

Walkway leasing is the best option?
After you walk away and after you pay for everything, tell us then if you like the walk away lease
What company did you to now also did you need to get a dot num or authority to lease that truck
I'm with WFX and I'm a lease purchase driver, it is a walk away lease too they do things different, while the truck us under lease the truck is covered bumper to bumper, we only pay for Fuel of the truck not the trailer if hauling reefer, we basically only cover costs of the truck only, they set you up with your tax agency that does all the book work for all your fuel receipts, anything you paid for the truck they do it all for you so at the end of the year its all done and your set to file your taxes, at the end of the lease you have the option to keep the truck or sell it back for a profit so I feel WFX does give you all the tools to be successful I'm already on my second truck

@jaytrucking5225 If you don't understand the meaning behind it, that's on you. "Old school trucker"- can drive anything they're thrown into. "Steering wheel holder"- needs an automatic. They do it as just a job vs as a passion and not just for a paycheck. Most new school "Truckers" are steering wheel holders. They could drive a manual to save their life yet want to be called Truckers. They take no pride in what they do or what they drive. I hope this explains the difference.

I’m running very lately. I came home from work. I had things to do with my house.
I want to suggest you to use leasing your truck because government will pay you as tax refund. Please ask your financial advisor for tax refund.
Several people pay lease for any vehicles including trucks. You’ll get tax refund. You never know if y’all pay lease your trucks. You might get refund from government.
So, call your personal accountants for tax refund program. You’ll go to any truck dealerships for leasing program.
Hope y’all will understand about tax refund. Have a Great One to y’all……😊

I lease my Peterbilt for 2600 dollars a month for 5 years with 1 dollar buy out at the end of my 5 lease

2020 I lease the truck but I put a big down payment paid it off in a year and I was averaging 3500 7000 a week I had to sell the truck at least purchase walk away I'm averaging two thousand to 3500 a week after Fuel and expenses you can still survive in a bad Market
So let me ask you this, what is a good paying load? (In dollars per mile) $2.5/mile? $3/mile? What is just a big no no?
You need to figure out your overhead to get the amount per mile. Tractor cost, fuel cost, ins, fees, registrations, etc. If your overhead is $1.90 a mile and you take a load for $1.90 a mile you worked for free. Then start looking at loads above that amount to make a profit.

Getting out of trucking?
This is not the time to Lease a Truck or do a Walk away!!…I own 4 Trucks and three of them are paid off i only have one left and I’ll be done!..but believe me even with 3 trucks paid off you still feel the pain not enough revenue!!…Just wait until everything gets better with the rates hopefully soon who knows when!!.. but all this is taking forever because I still don’t see the light nothing yet Nothing believe me!!!..
It’s a scam. Either have the money to be able to comfortably afford to out right buy the truck, have knowledge how to work on the truck, or find a good company and just stick with that. That’s the three options you have. Ur not going to spend every penny u have buying a truck and have no knowledge about how to fix stuff yourself and succeed, it’s not going to happen unless u just have money to play with and then we’ll why are u doing this in first place. And yea before one of you comment strollers who just look for something smartass to say bec u suck in real life, yes I understand there are rare exceptions to what I have said and very few ppl who have beaten the odds so dnt get on here tell me how Dan down the street spent his last dollar on a truck and couldn’t fix anything on the truck and now he’s a trillion air. Im in a walk away lease but i also have the option of buying it out at the end. I pay truck payment ($1420/month for a 2023 Peterbilt 389), fuel and maintenance (maintenance program for $.07/mile and 100% covered). I dont pay insurance, elog (Samsara), plates, sticker, IFTA, etc. I work for Scotlynn and they also have a terminal in Florida. No credit checks, no down payment and free upgrades, if you want.
$1420 a week payment, who are you kidding? At your rate = 30 year payment plan

Money depends on are you paying for rent or a mortgage? Car payments? Kids and a wife? I live in my truck. If I need a break Ill rent ab Airbnb. Depends on where you put your money. I bought used and run hard. If you don't hustle, you'll never get anywhere. Self-dispatch. Power only. I pull flatbed, tanker or reefer. Diversify. Stop blaming the economy. HUSTLE.
