Part 18. Demolition of the West Heating Plant in Georgetown (Washington, DC).
The heating plant was built in the 1940s. It provided steam heat to government buildings.

That last cutter has a much safer way of cutting than the guy in the beginning that even hit the green basket
Can someone fill me in on the type of boilers used in this building , they look nothing like a power station or locomotive, all open..with just the tubes showing..
They had sides, but they were removed early.
Why is the dude wrestling with big lumps of masonry way up there ?
They are clearing everything away from the edge that might fall so that the excavator can work directly underneath.
Wy you don't use an Excavator whith scrap shear?
They do, two of them in fact. They are quite visible at the end of the last video. But not on the high-reach one. Probably too heavy for it.
