Congratulations on getting the 9.8's. Also congratulations on getting your first two slabs! I started collecting again last October after a 30+ year hiatus. They didn't have slabs back then. I now have around 100. It is addicting and kind of like gambling. Yet more reasons for money to disappear out of my wallet. I learned after my first submission to press my comics before sending them in. My guess is that your Ultimate Spider-Man and Cobra Commander looked clean but probably had a waviness that seems to be on many new comics. I've heard that most graders let it go, but I think some do not. That's just my guess. Anyways, enjoyed your show. Good luck on future submissions!
You are never going to forget that 8.5 grade! 😂 Pretty cool you got Bill a comic long ago that turned out to be fairly valuable and it was just sitting with a bunch of forgotten comics for many years! Btw I have a hunch that CGC is going to be extra critical grading Ultimate Spider-Man #1 to lessen 9.8 grades to keep the book in demand and valuable. I am positive thousands of collectors have already submitted that book and the people at CGC are avoiding the dilemma of flooding the market with 9.8 which will kill the book. Enjoyed the content guys! The grades were a real eye opener!
Yeah, I'm almost positive you are right about Ultimate. And with CGC starting to throw more 9.9's into the mix, which is absolutely ridiculous....something that was a 9.8 might be coming back a 9.6 now. Not a huge loss, but it would have been nice!
Beautiful! The funny thing is, I HAD one, and I sold it off with the majority of my books 5 years ago. I should have gone through them better...that one could have been a 9.6!
