The UAD one sounds better than the presonus and waves by far. Sounds way more natural than the other two. I think maybe the gain was a little more on the UAD.

In my ear too
Having little experience of using vintage gear, and little knowledge of why vintage is so different to, say Neutron 4, this demo enabled me to quickly use Fat Channel and replace all my Neutron 4 instances (which made the acoustic music I was working on sound too brittle and twangy) with a noticeably warmer better and clearer mid range sound. I also preferred HRME's demo to Gregor @ Presonus's as Gregor's dems are often too fast to appreciate musically. So thanks for taking the trouble. Certainly helped me.

Excellent demo, but I'm still having trouble hearing the differences, and I cranked it up on my monitors. I think the performances you used were fairly even in loudness My less professional tracks do have audible variations, and I think I can hear the differences when I use the Fat Channel TubeComp. Thanks.
If you are having trouble hearing the compression then you may beed to training / tune your ears. This will help that for sure

Doesn’t have hi freq screw like uad or wave where you can just compress the high end. The uad tube comp also seems to add about 3db of volume of the bat when engaged, at least it seems louder.

I feel the presonus amongst the rest sounds more controlled and it changes the tone towards a more "HD" type than creamy on the UAD, I am not sure if that is bad or good in context. great vid thnx

Please don't. Voice distracts from clearly hearing the difference between plug ins, and you can already see if the plug is on or off.

To my ears.....The Presonus comp is SECOND to the UAD over Waves...the waves seems to move the bass up a bit while the Presonus rounds the bass in the same register as the UAD, just not as loud...I think you heard it too, H.R.M.E. dude. Great vid.

I recently purchased studio one and I am using Apollo Twin X thunderboalt, I installed my aud plugs but I can't use them in studio one. Any suggestion on how to get them working. I noticed that the file extensions are fxp don't know if that has any impact on it not working

The UA sounded like it was a bit more to the real effect from the hardware it was modeled after through these Beyer 770's of mine. Especially on the vocal. It was a little more musical than the other two. Only to my ears YMMV.

This compressor is propably worst of fat channel add ons(eqs are kinda nice), very very pumpy, almost unusable. For me uad>waves>presonus.

Works for me, for the price of the Apollo and universal audio plugins you could buy the real deal and definitely better than waves la2a, most people are tone deaf for sure!
