This is such perfect timing, as I have been planning out my Sterling Ink purchases and have been going back and forth on the 5 year, I have failed at every type of journaling I've tried, so I thought the 5 year might work for me....but was thinking about doing one for my family as a whole, and then I came upon this and am so inspired to do this for my two sons, who are also 7 and 5!! Thanks so much for the thoughtfulness and inspiration.

Thank you for mentioning how you use the pages in the back and notate the page number when you need a bit more space on certain days. I hadn't thought of that, but will definitely use that idea moving forward in my B6 five year diary. Loving mine so far.

A few months late, but this is lovely! I didn't realize Sterling Ink had a 5 year journal. Did you get the A5 or B6 size? And what cover do you have? It looks like it fits well. Has it still worked ok as the book has expanded? Thanks for sharing!
@@sar7719 this is the B6 size and I have a Moterm cover on both. They fit very well especially if I don’t tuck in the front cover. Since I don’t use any stickers or ephemera It hasn’t expanded very much. Even with the photo stickers I have in the back it still hasn’t expanded very much. I’ll def share a video of the year in review in December. Thanks so much for checking it out!
On photos - you can always "tip in" a photo too, and write on the back vs. use up a page if you find yourself wanting to put in a photo but worried about how much room it takes up :) It might bulk things up however, so just something to be mindful of if you decide you want to tip in photos of any kind. Also, even doing just an extra booklet - something super slim - in the back for extra photos too could be fun so you don't bulk up the book itself.
This is beautiful, Sujey. What an incredible gift, and wow what I wouldn't have given to have had something like this! I do have some letters and mementos my Dad made for me specifically, and they truly are the most prized things I have. This is incredible and definitely inspiring for if I have my own kid(s)s one day!!

I might try this, thiugh I have 3 boys - 2 adopted 1 bio... not sure how ill help my brain remember wjich is which while writing... also 3 is a lot! lol... anyway, I actually came to say- maybe tip in a self portrait at every birthday- for more drawing ideas fir them!

You can make the kids contribute too- maybe an art or poems or story(whatever that interests them)
I love that idea! Especially as their handwriting is getting better!
