    Can you tell me how much water you removed?

    Did the drilling and draining process help?

      It did, but it never really dried out. I was able to get the water to stop draining, but I could always feel moisture inside. The foam is not supposed to soak up water, but I believe it did and the only sure way is to cut up the whole floor which I wasn’t willing to do.

      I was going to use 1” #8 SS screws for my Garboard Drain. Any idea how thick the Transom? Maybe go 3/4”?

    What did you do to dry the foam out after drilling your holes and letting it drain?

    • @RaleighWood901
      @RaleighWood901  5 лет назад

      Catherine Longmire I just left the boat as high as I could over the winter with the holes open. Some days I would just put a fan close to it to keep the air flowing. It got to the point I could no longer feel water inside. Hope it helps!

      @@RaleighWood901 Thanks, I have had mine up high for about 2 weeks and will keep hitting it with the shopvac and leaving fans running into the holes during the day!

    Once that foams gets wet it stay wet. You have to cut the deck up and remove foam.

      Yep. If that skiff has wood stringer those are gonna rot in time also. All of it could have been avoided with a $20 tube of marine grade caulk.

    Where did you purchase that drill bit?

    • @RaleighWood901
      @RaleighWood901  5 лет назад +1

      Richard King it’s a flex bit from Lowes or Home Depot. Can’t remember exact size, but make sure it’s not bigger than the plug you will be installing of course.

    bad stringer set up. side to side with no drain an filled with foam. they should have left a keel gap and a drain with a bilge. stacked like garbage cans. haha.
