"From the basement to the third floor, the attic, everything was ruined," he added. "We almost lost a couple firefighters, they tell me, because the kitchen floor was burning between beams, and then the house, in addition, almost collapsed into the basement."
An Associated Press report at the time described a "small" fire that was contained to the then-senator's kitchen, though it did mention "heavy smoke."
``Luckily, we got it pretty early,'' Cranston Heights Fire Company Chief George Lamborn told the outlet. ``The fire was under control in 20 minutes.''

Absolutely true. Look up the video of the locals on the ground, awaiting Biden’s arrival in Maui. When his motorcade drove by, “booing” was the NICEST thing they said. Listen to the actual people, not the news, if you want to be informed about how the people feel. And then look up reactions to him telling a crowd of people who’ve lost their children, parents, siblings, pets in the most horrific way possible, homes, cars, the bodies of their loved ones, reduced to ashes that he knows how they feel because once when he was out of town, lightning started a kitchen fire in one of his many houses, which the fire department records say was completely contained in the kitchen and they were done and out of there in 20 minutes. The sheer out of touch arrogance of this man crossed a line that day which he cannot uncross. Just ask the parents of the soldiers killed in his botched and fatal removal of troops from Afghanistan. He said he knew how they felt because his son was brought home the same way, after serving, in a coffin with a flag draped over it, when they knew his son had died of cancer with them at his side. That’s tragic as well but you don’t try to compare that with a parent’s grief, when you are the one who’s actions directly resulted in their son’ or daughter’s death.

I have to say one of his better speeches, no doubt he is responding to the criticism of his Hawaii handling. I have to give him credit when credit is due. Too bad he can’t be less divisive, more coherent and honest more then 5% of the time.
