While I don't admire the politics of Charles Taylor as it evokes memory of war, killing, displaced refugees, hunger etc, I however condemned successive government for abandoning the mansion to ruins. It could have been preserved and put to public use like library, museum, health clinic, or government lodge. If it were in Europe and America where Africans like to go and pay to see the Roman empire sites and relics it would have been different. I saw the holiday mansion of Osageyfo Kwame Nkuruma left to ruins in Ghana. The same with Kamuzu Banda's house, Idi Amin etc. You don't need to love them as history already have taken note of their rulership but monuments like these could be used to benefit the living materially and learning purposes.
