He was an handsome man without makeup.... and his face was often serious, unlike his comedic character. Thanks to my dad for letting me know about all of his films when i was a little girl. He has a big collection of old 8mm films (cartoons too) and sometimes, the sunday, he shows projections on a big white wall (for me and my cousins) it's so awesome!!! :) sorry for my mistakes in english...
I sometimes focused on other aspects instead of the story lines, figures and scenes, much more l was so impressed with the film knicks knacks showing better civilization in this time like building ornaments, music instrument, piano, shoes, clothes etc
making movies was his passion. i imagine he spared no expense. nowadays studios want to invest the least amount possible and get the most back, hence endless remakes that have a built in fanbase. scripts now that seem like fanfiction. casting that panders to twitter because twitter is free publicity. disney makes dollar store live action remakes of their once famous ground breaking cartoons.
Your boomer rant aside Chaplin was ahead of his time even in his Keystone days, so his shorts and movies are fresh today. If you watch other Keystone shorts from this period they aren't nearly as polished as Chaplin shorts. He had a gift.
@@LinkRocks Part of it is also an audience today that would appreciate little of the "gift" that Chaplin had. A major comedy release today that had no obscenity in it (not talking about suggestiveness) would do how well?? It would likely fail, or be labeled right wing.
In stone age too, Charlie could manage to keep his pipe, hat and stick. And a bald stone age man. what kind of tension they had. Only charlie can make this believable.
A person I know was at RADA studying acting. His friend there was Eugene Chaplin. When Eugene got married he was invited. It look place at Charlie Chaplin's house in Switzerland about 1972. So my friend did meet Charlie.

Charlie Chaplin was one of the most greatest comedian of all time I love watching his videos they make me laugh and Happy, I really miss Charlie Chaplin
In all of these silent films, there are many scenes where the characters are blabbing out this or that. For the purpose of the film, it does not matter what they are saying. Their body language conveys the meaning of the scene. But I would love to know if any recordings or written records exist of what they were actually yakking about? They might be saying things related to the scene. Or they might be talking about their favorite restaurant. I wonder if the actors had actual lines that they were told to use, to help make the scene more realistic? Or were they allowed to just ramble off any gibberish that they felt like? They probably had many good laughs, knowing that their dialog will never be heard.
I can lip read to a certain extent and from watching these films there usually does appear to be a script. A lot of the words are spoken as if the movie had sound.. The actions are greatly exaggerated, as per stage performance was back then. Quite often I can see what has been said and then the cue cards come up on screen saying what I just saw.
@@NoEgg4u She seems to be saying "Yes" a lot. Her mouth is often obscured and moving around too much to catch a lot of it and Charlie's mouth is largely obscured by his moustache. In this case, difficult to read. On another note, it would be rather difficult for actors to play a part that involves speech and cues if they are chattering away about other things. Too much of a distraction.
Hahaha... There were hat, pipe, cane back then. He was also capable of wagging his tail. So funny.

What a tragic year, 1914. Chaplin was an original; I hope we never forget him for the man he was, not just the actor.
Enjoy what you see. Charlie was not a perfect performer. But he always gave us something to snigger feverishly about whenever he started.
YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ABOUT CHARLIE CHAPLIN 😂😅

I have always loved Chaplin. He was so unique.
So how is it that crudely made 100 year old comedies without sound are more amusing than the crap that Hollywood puts out today?

Да в 1914 это было очень сложно
и ел и спал и сына воспитал.к тому же он ещё был и композитор,и писатель,и шахматист.
